May I please ask everyone to ignore recognized trolls in the future?

Michael and Auriea are busy people and despite TEF's importance to all of us, it is a side project for them.

When there is someone trying to provoke a reaction, being outraged with their behavior only feeds them and encourages them to keep provoking. Putting on a straight face and waiting for them to wear themselves out is a good way to bore and be rid of them (or, in a rare chance, placate them to the point they want to behave to gain your attention).

It is a shame to lose access to your hard work. But TEF isn't about CSS. It's about our experiences in the forest and our time with each other. Our journals are a good way to keep track of that and for those of you who spend the time to make your css lovely, it is a kind of art. But it's not the heart of TEF. Your deer is not your CSS.

If someone makes it known they are a troll in this fashion in the future, please remember that we have the power to reject them not by attacking back, but by quietly and peacefully leaving them alone.
Be patient and win the battle with kindness and respect for yourself. Fight with pacifism.
Isn't that the kind of place this forest is?

_{If they don't bring CSS back at all, it may be in our best interests to move our biographies off-site in the event that something like this or worse ever happens, or at least have EVERYTHING backed up in a .txt file or something. I've been meaning to move my own off-site for quite a while..}

Just to say thank you for getting this sorted.I really appricate it. It's nice to see that the issue has been delt with. In all honesty i found CSS to hurt my eyes and it seemed an insult to the builders to change what they made.

Some times when people put their heart and soul in something it's best not to twist it to our own desires.

Hopefully people will have lernt from this.

I too participated in the My Little Pony thread. It was an attempt to bring brevity to the situation and perhaps distract this individual into doing something benign. What is that they say, “kill them with kindness?”

Sorry about that. In another community that I'm a part of we have a MLP thread where we just post pictures and chat about the show, and I assumed that this was something similar, so I posted a picture to try and join in. I guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions next time... ;^^

It really wasn't the pony thread that was the problem, Sluggs.

I didn't say it was, we just moved on to that, but it did play a part in it, since some of Caturday's previous MLP posts had been whited-out so he/she made that blog to continue with the ponies!

Seed, yes, I too am having this problem, I can't edit one of my blogs, it's the "Where to Find Me" one that I update all the time so it's quite annoying. The "edit" button simply does not exist.

Perhaps this is a side effect of disabling CSS on the site? Strange though, I don't recall that post had any CSS to begin with *scratches head*

Actually I think that is something they added. Depending on which comment you click "reply" to, your comment will actually reply to... so if I reply to a comment way above all these comments, mine will go below the one I replied to, instead of at the bottom of the page... :z

Quad this is not your fault! You are not the one who decided to go messing with the site setup to “punish” us. Lol. *snuggles*

But yeah, I’ve noticed the comments thing too. So now when you reply to a comment, you will actually reply to that comment, it will appear below it, slightly indented, instead of at the end of the queue like it used too. I like it, in that you can more directly respond to someone but at the same time, if it’s several pages back, it’s likely to be completely overlooked. I’ve been trying to comment to the main post instead once I figured out this was happening.

Quad, you did the right thing. We can't have people wrecking other folks' postings for their own petty amusement. Much like the god-pelt hack fiasco, in that some few abusing code ultimately led to game-wide restrictions. We all had our fun while it lasted, but now it's over.

There is no need to place blame anywhere.

I was emailing TOT as well, and mentioned what people suggested about disabling CSS in comments, and how the comments have gone odd on us. This is the reply I got:

Very nice of them. I know I was harsh in my wording (I also panic like a fool |D ); I was just upset when my profile was suddenly completely deleted.
I admit I don't understand CSS and how it works, I had a lot of help from people. But if they can find a way to do this, that would be wonderful.

It's really all so frustrating that just one person can do what happened.

Quad, I repeat, this is not your fault. It's the work of someone else who had a ton of time on their hands and was very bitter about something, TEF related or not and decided to take it here.

It will be nice if they can figure out a way to just disable CSS in the comments and not the main post. I have to admit, when I first started seeing whited out blogs the night before last, I was really worried the whole site would be taken down. A lot of forums will take very harsh measures against individuals who “mess” with the code and operation of a site like that and they can even take legal action. I was really worried the whole site might just go bye-bye.

Oh, and cool, comments are behaving themselves now. Yay!

Unplugged, I still can't access my one blog, I used that method you stated above and it just tells me I am not authorized to view the page. Any suggestions?

Sighthoundlady, you may need to email M&A telling them about that. It might be another accidental byproduct like the comment threading was.

Hm... The Edit button is appearing for me in my bios, as well as Preview, Save and Cancel. Unless I am late to the party and it has already been fixed? In any case, it is great to see M&A working hard to find the best solution. Everyone bear in mind that they do care about the community, and wish to do the very best for us.
