If my comments were digital colorings
My deer would have one friend
He'd enter the forest and play all day
Instead alone the time he spend.
If my poems were sketches
My deer would have a mate
They would never be separated
That seems quite impossible as of late.
If my kindness were fan art
I might get some in return
I could join the fan-art-thon
give and get pictures when my turn.
If my words were brushstrokes
My deer could be violent and crass
Regardless of this rude behavior
They'd still line up to kiss my ass.
If my words were water colors
No deer would dare lower horns at mine
My hundreds of friends would defend me
All I'd have to do is whine.
If my words were pencil lines
I could be featured on the front page
I would proudly shine in the spotlight
but instead I lurk back stage.
A side project. I will be getting back to writer war soon. I have an idea yes....
I wish I could write like
I see where you come from, tho'. Sadly I don't have any wise words.
I liked it, well
Message I have to agree with, at least in part...poem still seemed a little bit too one-side for my tastes but I can understand that because it's more emotive and strong that way. Still, I mean, talent is talent, be it visual art or written word, one isn't better than the other.
That was amazing. c:
.. makes me... somehow really

Beautifully written!! And so
Unplugged, I had a lot of
I had a lot of help from my pen pal. I am not so good with words so she checks my words for me before I post. Comes out very better than way.
Tera,
ehh..I disagree. On this site you have lots of artists who get fawned over. They post art and people love them! They get away with being rude or mean to people because they give art. It make up for their mean words I think...? I do not get it.
They even get on front page for everyone to see! I don't see writing or nicely coded biography on front page. Only picture picture picture picture picture! Is very one sided no? Everyone say
"waaaat no! Artist writer and nice commenter and coder is equal! but then..where is the love?
Sometimes I see others being left out because they can't be doing the pictures!
Worse they try to do the pictures and get bullied, laughed at, or ignored. Mean comments like "hehe it looks like a dog!" or "oh is this a deer?" "where is legs?" and they take down picture out of shame.
MoonlitStar,
I was thinking of you yes when wrote it. You say you don't feel belong because you just stay around without art or write or code or anything but character and comment. Keep chin up no? It will be getting better soon I hope. Maybe more who feel the same way band up?
Alicev,
You write deer stories.
I see them, you rare talent that can do both. Must be lucky no?
Kittycatkita,
Thank you.
I am going to be working on biopage for Jene. Excuse strange writing, english is not my first.
This is absolutely beautiful!
The meanings, ohmy god...
I love you...
Thank you for posting this piece. I understand you. And agree with a good few of them.
Oh! So english isn't your
@themaskerade: I still
I still consider myself as 'visual' i am not a writer. I have no idea about poems... how they work and so on, the stories i write are just taken from things they happen.... and have no real plan behind....
I could never write a piece like this, this thing actual has aconcept behind, has actual a meaning.
I would never consider myself as lucky. Pff, no really not.
Again, your words make me feel bad, like i have done something personally to you... or other person
maybe this sounds emo as hell ... and is it actual just my genaral bad feeling speaking out...
but, however, that's how i feel . yes. >_>
Hmm, i indeed sound like a moron. however. good night, i need sleep...
;A; Oh.......
Although I know many will
Thank you, you've managed to describe the community hierarchy brilliantly. I don't actually think you could add anything more to this - it is already a fine-tuned point!
I'll agree with you on the
However I can't say I've seen much bulling of less talented artist, at least not while I've been here anyway and not to the extent that you've described. I know younger or less experienced artists may not get as many comments but that's natural and it's motivation for improvement.
As for me, I write and draw, fairly well I think and I try and comment on things I see when I have something to say about them, be it written or drawn. I think the main reason people get more of a response from art is that it's easier to 'digest' than a story or poem. The art posted on this site (for the most part) needs only be looked at briefly to form an opinion. However, with writing it takes more effort, and as sad as it sounds, some people just aren't willing or accustomed to putting in that effort.
Sorry for side-tracking your post, I don't really mean to turn it into a discussion if you'd rather keep it about your poem then that's fine by me!
No I use signed language
It makes rhyming really really hard!
I don't be knowing what the words be sounding like! Is so funny no? kekeke I laugh lots at it.
I sign to my friend over webcam and he do it in english and then I look, read over, and i like how it look it getting posted.
For very long one I record myself signing and give to sister who says it English and subtitles my recording. then give that to same friend i mention earlier. friend who types it and fixes it to english grammar and sentencing and adds 'voice' to piece for me then give back to me. I look over and make sure the words are the ones I like then post to site.
Friend posts her own things to this site too so my storys get backseat for when she can concentrate and terp for me to you. I don't mind very much since I much like playing in forest more! More fun and spelling and pretty things.
It is long+long+long process so I don't make lots of writings.
Tera,
Fine fine!
OK I don't be minding. I rarely talk with people here so it good for me. I not busy so I reply.
That's amazing to hear how
English is a beautiful
Simply wonderful!
I have never loved a language more than I have loved English. I love to write in it; I love to move my thoughts to words to share to the majority, or minority. Whichever case it may be.
But that's just it. Writing is abstract. It has foreshadowing, concepts, ideas that are hard to digest. People don't want to make the connections, they don't want to relate. They don't want to go digging.
Writing is beautiful, if you take the time to harvest the information it will give.
But art! Art is simpler! A simple glance and a world of beauty will be opened to you! You don't need to digest art to enjoy it! Look at the colors! The anatomy! How pleasing it looks on the eyes! It is much simpler to many.
Art is in the eye of the beholder. I see writing as a form of art. I see language as an art. I see drawing as art. I see photography as art. I see people as art. I see nature as art. I see a smile as art. I see a laugh as art. I see love as art.
That's beautiful, Grape. Your
Grape, yes! You get it
yes!
You get it adored.
Personally, I not a fan of English or other languages.
Is bad to say, but I think..less emotion from word on screen or out loud.
Sasha (is my friend) say you can read and hear voice in word.
But she talk to hearing friends and I see very little expression.
but then..signing to me WOW! all over big facial happy sad angry worried excited silly I know how she feel right away.
I read even my own words in english and it seem dead and i wondering 'can they really know how i feel'? but she say 'noo noo trust in me i expect! i genius you see!'
that why I like forest. Is all body language! All equal! French english german italian hearing not hearing young old you all same in trees.
Terabetha,
Yes. but I admit I am very shy with posting self on internet. Lots of people do songs in sign on the youtube page but no not for me. I do to friends in real life and conversation. I do performance art wherever I go! ha ha wrong is teasing. Smiile.
haha of course, I'm shy like
Your friends are very lucky, they get special performances just for them!
but we alll perform! *look
*look left-right*
even Alecsander. *hushshush shhhh!*
Sasha (is nickname but you knew?) is very silly when she signs.
She laugh a looot and turn red and oh so funny.
I tease all the time.
Tell her she should tell story in sign and post and she say 'nooo i don't have cam' but run away when i say 'use mine it okay! don't mind i!"
I was going to comment on how
But then you're teasing me in comments?!
x) I should have known. You're mischievous.
Just kidding, nice work and glad to see your internet is back up.
I'm working on all the notes you gave me for Jene's biography and am going to try divs coding it in the long run. If you don't mind I'll send over the place holder so everyone can get his picto (picture above head in game) and appearance in forest.
Don't mind I
Grape, you have summed up my
A drawing is instant gratification. There are no words to wade through. You look at it, and it's meaning is right there in front of your eyes. But a story, a poem..you have to read it. You have to digest the words, turn them over in your head, sort out their meaning.
I understand where drawings have more of an appeal and allure for people. Not only that, but there are a great deal of people on the community site who's first language isn't English. I can understand where it may be frustrating for them to read something in English because what I mean, as an English speaker, may very well not be what they get out of the story itself.
Reading takes work. It takes time. It takes concentration and attention. An image, a picture, does not.
I have said, several times, that I would gladly give away every ounce of my writing talent, to have the talent of some of the artists of this community.
I have never had an artist friend tell me that they'd give up all of their artistic talent, for my writing talents.
That pretty much speaks for itself, in my book.
Maskerade, you've written a wonderful poem, that perfectly expresses the admittedly ugly reality in the difference of how people see art vs. the written word.
Wow. I really liked this
And I so agree with the lines:
"If my poems were sketches
My deer would have a mate"
I've never meant to rob
