Woke at the base of the big dark tree, feeling cold and alone. Took a walk to the pond to watch the koi some more, and noticed fawn playing around her. They were noisy. She strolled to the Birch and slept in the flowers for a while before noticing another deer watching her. They greeted her, but she didn't know how to react. She wasn't sure if she wanted his company or not. Decided it would be better than being alone. Another fawn showed up and tried stealing this stag's attention. She didn't like it very much. They walked with her back to the pond to have a drink and rest beneath a willow. Looking at the other fawn, Akane was reminded of her sister. She felt tears well up in her eyes, when suddenly the stag came and nuzzled her cheek, wiping the wetness away and sitting with her under the leaves. She felt safe.

Her eyes fluttered open to the brightness that hit her face. Everything bas a bit blurry at first. She saw trees looming above, felt soft grass on her back. Her hair was sprawled out and tangled, caught in her fingers...fingers? Where are her fingers? Instead, they were replaced with hooves, and she jolted upright, struggling to stand. Where was she? Akane stumbled about, tripping over herself multiple times before she was able to stand steadily. This must be a dream. She figured a dream should be enjoyed, not feared. Deciding to ignore the sudden physical change, she trotted forward on wobbly legs, glancing around with mild cautiousness. She spotted a few other deer resting in a patch of flowers and some prancing by, seemingly unaware of her presence. She didn't mind. Putting her mind into a concentrated mode, she tried focusing on flying - to no avail. What fun is a dream when you can't fly? Akane shook her head, a little dejected but not too upset. She moved to sit by a small pond where the koi fish swam. It reminded her of home.

History

Pre-Forest History:

Akane lived with her mother, father, and younger sister in a village named "Hanabira," or "village of the petals," named after the surrounding cherry blossom trees that would blanket the ground in pink every year. Akane's little sister, Emiko, was the softer of the two, and very naive. The girls were inseparable. Emiko would often get into trouble, but her older sister would always rescue her. Akane was wise beyond her years, even from a young age. When she was about twelve, and her sister was nine, some strange men from a few villages over came to their house to speak with their father. There was some banging, some pleading, and finally a sob as the men came out of the back room to grab the collars of the two young girls. Their mother cam to them before they were taken away and told them that they'd be on an adventure. It soothed Emiko's mind, but Akane knew better. They were brought to a large building with many beautiful women inside. Emiko instantly made a few friends, as most of the women were fawning over the girls as soon as they arrived. Akane had heard of these places before, but not many stories ended happily. She did her best to keep Emiko safe, but they were groomed and trained for the work up ahead. Akane knew she would be put out for sale within a year, but Emiko, being only a child, would get longer. Months went by, but Akane never stopped planning to find her sister a way out. It killed her to see the way Emiko was oblivious to what was headed towards her; the way she treated being dolled up with makeup caked on her face like it was a game of dress-up, having dangling sticks with jewelry shoved into her hair, which was now stiff and fake-looking. She hardly looked like Akane's sister. Akane refused to look at herself. She knew that soon, she wouldn't want to ever face herself again.

A year went by before Akane turned thirteen and, just as she predicted, she started work at the brothel. Every day, she stood around the brothel until a man picked her out and brought her to a private room where she was tortured and violated. Then the cycle would repeat. Akane could tell that Emiko was catching on and beginning to mature as another year went by, but she still wasn't made to start for another year. She absorbed the other women's behaviors and began flirting with the men that came in, which only got her in trouble. She was beaten many times for "tempting" the customers when she was still off-limits. Akane loathed everyone there for treating her and her sister like objects. The longer they were there, the more Akane began to accept it. She was still hesitant about letting her sister become involved, but she began to move up along the social ladder in the brothel. She was a favorite among clients, and made the other women jealous of her youth and beauty. When the year came for Emiko's thirteenth birthday, Akane had become so adapted to this new environment that she completely forgot about her wishes to keep her little sister from working. In fact, she would give her tips and help with makeup in order to ensure more customers. "The more we earn, the sooner we can go home," she would say.

By the time she was in her twenties, she basically had control over the brothel. They had raised enough money to pay off their father's debt and go home long ago, which Emiko did, and soon after got married and started a family of her own. Akane, on the other hand, couldn't bring herself to go back. After all she had done, she was hardly able to look in the mirror at herself anymore. Her innocence had been taken away, and now all that was left was a body made for using. Every day was the same. She now organized scheduling, directed most of the activity at the brothel. Akane had had many clients fall in love with her before, sending her flowers and trying to get her to run away with them - she would play along for a while, if it meant they'd keep paying to see her. Eventually, they'd all give up. Except for one.

One man was infatuated with her. He would show up and slam on the doors, demanding to see her. He would hit her for 'cheating on him' with other men. He even went so far as to try to sneak a knife into her room one night. He was restrained and kept from ever entering the brothel again. A few months went by and everything was normal, until he showed up in her bedroom, having snuck in through the window. "I just want us to be together," he said with tears in his eyes. Akane could see the shimmer of something metal hidden behind his back. She tried to play along, to keep him at a distance, but when he whipped out the blade, she had no choice but to scream for help. The man quickly blocked the door so the other women couldn't break through.

Thankfully, he didn't torture her. With a quick slash of the knife, Akane fell to the floor, coated in red and tasting the salt of tears. Her vision was getting blurry, but before the blackness consumed her, she could feel the gentle touch of the man' slips against her own. Then everything stopped.

Here's the code :3

AlisonRobin's picture

In the second to last line of

In the second to last line of the CSS (in the pastebin it is line 88, they have it numbered on the side), there is this code:

.comment.odd, tr.odd, tr.info{background-color: #98A2A3;opacity: 0.50}.comment{border:none;}tr.even, .comment.even{background-color: #98A2A3}.new{background-color: #98A2A3;opacity: 0.50}.comment div.links{background-color: #ffffff;opacity: 0.50}

The .comment.odd part (meaning every other comment, like with numbers how you have odd and even numbers), the .new part (which is the little part where NEW will show when you have a new comment) and .comment div.links (which I believe are the reply buttons) all have {opacity:0.50}, which is telling them to be half visible. You can make them fully visible by removing opacity:0.50 everywhere you see it, or I think it will also work if you change it to opacity:1.00.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I have most of this CSS stuff figured out.
