i started out as an adult deer...

so i downloaded this game yesterday. i DID NOT start out as a young deer. i started out as an adult deer.
it says stage 3 when i go on. does that mean i skipped a download? or is it just an update?

since i weirdly started out as an adult deer i thought i could cast spells if i eat pine cones and what not. how do i cast spells? i'm not sure. did my game glitch and give me an adult deer avatar but the system recognizes me as a you deer??
i'm so confused. please help!

Press Esc to open the menu,

Press Esc to open the menu, click on Network, log in, and you will be a fawn.

After logging in, as said

After logging in, as said above, it will take 30 days until you grow into an adult. Until then, spells cast onto your fawn will only be temporary, and last around 20 seconds before they vanish. However you will be able to cast spells onto others. ^^

Since I don't really think this information is clearly pointed out anywhere else... still, I guess it's fun to discover things on your own!
