It will take a month from your registration date untill your fawn grows up in the game. So if you registered on the 18th, you will likely grow up around the 18th next month. Though, it can differ a few days.
In the meantime, explore the forest! Try to get a hang of the language, after all, fawns are allowed to do just about anything. Nothing is "wrong".
