I have a problem./rant

I feel as if I can never KEEP a character. I want to only have 2 characters, one Doe and one Buck. I love Unduetu as well, but I am on the fence with her.
*
I hate that my ideas just COME OUT in to characters that only stay for one or two days before dying again. It's hard to keep from making so many of them. I think on this site I have made around 30 and only ever kept a couple for more than a month. Yeah, I have a buttload of pictograms at my disposal.
*
Well, to get this to the point:
*
I really have been trying very hard to develop a doe character. I really want one. I want one that will stick and stay, and I have been trying so hard to develop someone beautiful and natural in appearance. Someone that I want to draw as much as I want to draw Iphea. The does I have made in the past keep trying to mesh, but that only gives me a headache and a heartache that they can't make someone for me.
*
Otherwise, I wish I could just play a deer with no set, but I am worried people won't realize I am not a newbie and will try to spam me like they used to when I played my "just pelted" deer. -.- I really like the naked pelt. It seems natural and beautiful.
*
Oh I have no courage... >.< Doe or Setless? Both? I can deal with three characters. In fact, that would be more than perfectly fine with me to have three.
*
But should I just scrap Unduetu like the rest? She's beginning to get some publicity... I know you aren't supposed to play characters you don't love, though.... -.- I am at such a loss. Any advice from anyone? /smallwalloftext
Oy! That's frustrating. What
I had issues with my first doe character, Fae. She wasn't terribly developed and as she grew, I didn't have a back story for her or a definite personality worked out. I didn't know what to do with her.
Enter Roe. I thought long and hard about her. I had a back story, some history, and an idea of how I wanted her to grow and change. And I truly love her as a character.
For some reason, it's easier to play my buck Shalaco than it is to play Roe (in game at least). (had the same problem with Fae, when I was still playing her)
So I guess, what is it about Unduetu that you like and don't like? What aspects would be easily changed? She could be setless (Roe wears the default pelt).
I have no idea if that was helpful at all . . .
That's just it. I don't have
That's just it. I don't have anything wrong with her. I just am not in love with her. :/ She is kinda static, seeing as she has a set EVERYTHING. Iphea, on the other hand, started out dumb as a post and with little to no anything. Now he developed a backstory, a personality, and a voice that reflects me more.
:/ I have been holding back on creating anyone else in entirety since him just for this reason. But I feel like I need to take breaks from him sometimes.
I... Don't know if I'm
But I'll tell you this, for assistance: Why not to interact with your deer? Write some stories about your deer, get to know them in-game, and imagine you are actually talking to them... Well, and you can wear sets that doesn't even MIX with your deer. '
I don't know still if it was helpful, but I do hope that does something.

Deerth, Thank you. I did
Thank you. I did that with Iphea and it seemed to work with him. He and I hold conversations and everything, but the doe in particular doesn't seem to want to talk. She seems to like teasing me. :/ The setless seems to love me, and likes rubbing me... kinda nice and very wild, yet gentle. It reminds me of a cow.
I feel like this talking helps, just voicing it on here. I still don't know what to do with Unduetu though.
Good! I'm glad it helped a
Your deer might be teasing you for reasons because you're a bit unsure about them/you weren't talking to your deer much. At least I think so. When you let boldly them to talk everything with you, you and your deer became unseparable, that means your deer might become a part of you. Violet and I are unseparable. Other characters might be farther for me, but only because I give the most attention to my primary characters. When Unduetu doesn't want to talk to you much, get them together with your deer, whom are close with you. Unduetu grows closer to you if he is sure about you, as your deer might imaginarily tell you're great. I don't know, but I'm talking such connection because I've experienced it...

Let your characters slowly
That's just it. Unduetu
That's just it. Unduetu doesn't sound like she wants to talk ever. Iphea doesn't seem to be sure of her, and won't talk with her no matter how many times I ask. They do have moments when he helps her, but they don't talk. It's like she doesn't want to come out fully.... like she doesn't like me.
I feel like the setless deer wants to come out. The doe gave me a set for her, but she still seems to want to be the most important thing in the world. I feel like suppressing her for now... but I still want to play her. Maybe I will let her sit for awhile and grow, and then tell me what she wants to do. I think I will do the same with Unduetu. Now, to ask my nameless for his pictogram.... I feel like people would see him as being more "set in his setless-ness" if I let him have my Gen 1 pictogram. Maybe.
Edit: Ninja-sin.... Thank You.
I think I will just let them do it themselves. Find myself some CSS and create a beautiful bio, and let the deer themselves grow in to it.
Good you've found them a
And the 1st Gen picto might look greater on your setless deer, yes!
Good luck with your ongoing deer! ♥

I can't say I have the same
I truly don't understand it when everyone says that their deer talk to them, express themselves to you, and the like. It's a brick wall that I can't get over, as far as being able to connect with any one of my characters. I only get urges to draw a character, or a passing fancy in an idea. It never goes farther than that. Take, for instance, the sketch of a beautiful stag on a piece of notebook paper. He has no name, no color scheme, no personality, no history... He's just a sketch and I can't get anything from him.
I don't know what to do. I can't take any of my deer into the forest, since I currently can't install it on my dad's computer. I can't really interact and rp with any of them, since they're missing such huge chunks of information. And I seriously sat myself down to mull over my sketched deer, thinking of anything he might like, but nothing seemed to fit.
I'm sorry about this rant on your blog MissB. :< Didn't think it'd turn into a freaking book.
.
No being sorry, WS. This is
No being sorry, WS. This is what this blog is for.
Really, if you can't talk to them, you could always just keep drawing them. If you find one you like, maybe do a comic with them in it to learn more about them? (hm... maybe I will do that too.) As in, just draw them in different poses, doing things, and just hanging around. Like a V.I. with yourself?
Basically with the whole "Talking to your deer" thing, we let our thoughts run freely on the subject of the character until something clicks. The information that they're missing sometimes reveals itself. Maybe keep a notebook nearby and just write, no matter how little sense it makes.

I used to have
Admittedly I'm still having the problem of characters just fading away. Stairway and The Keeper; Moksha; even Snake. Now I want Idaho and Morrison/Verdilac and eh...
♥
Maybe we will have to set up
Oh, I still have the same
Sometimes you need to actually play a character before you decide that it will or won't work. I've done that a lot, created characters that I thought would be awesome before I realized that they were more trouble than they were worth.
In the end, don't take it too seriously. Do what you want. Nobody is judging you based on your number of characters or what sex they are or what they look like.
That's a great idea, MissB.!
Ginger, that seems to a problem I've also had. Having made a character that I thought would be really fun and easy to play, but their mannerisms made some much conflict that the deer was... well, incomplete in their ability to interact properly to others and situations.

(No subject)
<3 It's really what I think. I want to have my variety of characters so I don't get bored. Not too serious, but still feeling like each of my characters is a child to me and I hate to kill them off/ delete them.
DEERTH- I'd love that You
Quote:Let your characters
This. All my best characters have come from letting them slowly change or grow, adding things on. Try adding weird 'tics' or other things like that. Little unique things that make you like them more. They can even be little things like a routine.
Other than that, you'll come to love them over time. -u-
Draw them with emotion, draw
I use my favorite music to determine the spirit of the character.
Oi, MSN would be a good idea,
That's my home email/MSN, full of my country language, sorry 'bout that. C|
