If you see a grown up deer with the skull, idol pelt and default antlers, and that has this picto, it is not Alexis. An other one of my deer borrows her picto.
"...Mummy?...
Where are you mummy?
...Am I lost..?
Where am I?..
Why do the deer have hooman faces?..
Hoomans are bad..
And I'm scared..
Help?
The silence shrouds the dark of night,
the moon lets out a silvery breath.
Crickets sing their song so bright
about the cycle of life and death.
"That thing is your name, little one." Illrose spoke, as she stepped closer to the confused fawn. She understood, she had also felt lost and confused when she had entered the forest. "A name given to you by the Twin Gods of this forest. You should be proud." She stopped a few meters away, in case the fawn was very skittish. A smile had formed her human lips, but it was hidden behind the skull mask she wore.
She gave a nod. "Most of us have at least one second name, since the god-given name usually is difficult to pronounce. My name is Illrose." She carefully took a few steps closer, stretching her neck to take a sniff at the fawn. The Twin Gods are those who created this place. Their names is Michaël and Auriea. They sometimes visit us here, but I have never been around to see one of them myself. Is your mother here somewhere too?" Illrose looked around, but she couldn't see anyone else.
Peirce sighed and plopped down in soft grass, hoping he would sleep. That was all he needed. Sleep. Sleep was the only time where he could escape the dark, cold world. But voices nearby woke him. 'Frustrated, and looked and saw a fawn and another deer, the "Dragon". Peirce had heard about the "Dragon", but never really got to see her. Peirce watched the two; now he cannot sleep.
Illrose narrowed her eyes when the fawn ran and hid behind a tree, seconds before Illrose noticed a movement in the grass. Apparently she had been mistaken, there was anyone else around. But this was clearly a stag, and not the fawn's mother. "Who are you?" Illrose asked the stag, before she went closer to the tree the fawn was hiding behind.
Peirce chuckled at the fawn's innocence. "Who are you?" he heard Illrose say. He got up and said, "I mean no harm. I am Peirce." He looked at the fawn hiding behind the tree and walked over to her. "Where's your parents?" he asked.
Illrose quickly looked over the stag as he got up. He had large antlers, but still didn't seem to be a threat, nor did he look aggressive. Therefore she stepped aside as he he walked over to the fawn behind the tree. But she did keep a close look on them both, ready to protect the fawn if necessary.
She looked up at the colorful stag with large antlers. "M-my p-parents?.." her voice was shaking "Daddy is.. Dead.. And I can't find my mummy!" she said, and a tear rolled down her cheek.
Illrose listened to the conversation silently, before she stepped forward. "Okay, I think it's enough with the questions for now." She said in a rather sharp tone. The fawn shouldn't have to describe the death of her parent for two strangers. "I can help and try to find your mum, but I doubt she is here if she don't have a God-given name glowing above her head like we do." She said to the fawn. That, and this forest didn't have hunters like those that had killed the fawn's dad.
She looked at the skulled one. "Mumma? Last time I saw her she didn't have any annoying thing over her head.." then she stood up and shooked her head. She was feeling safer now.
Peirce shook his head. That was a stupid question to ask. Did he really think the little fawn had the guts to explain what happened without breaking down. Ugh. But Peirce didn't need to focus on that now. He said, "The pictogram thingie? Well, she could be what the Endless Forest calls the Nameless. They are normal deer in the forest but the only thing over their head is their antlers." Peirce paused. "I could go in look for your Mum if you want. What did she look like?"
"Why is this.. thing..
