I'll try and include some relavent ones, there are tonnes more though if anyone is curious to see.

The Billiard Room at Lanhydrock, near Dartmoor, the flagship of the national trust.

I walked into this room and my jaw dropped. The lighting was amazing as it came in through the windows on the three walls shown here. It was truely inspiring!

A painting hanging in the Billiard Room at Knightshayes in Tiverton.

I immediately thought of Iaurdagnire when I saw this painting. It took me forever for get a decent picture, and even then I've had to doctor it to make it clear.

Playing with navigational tools of the 17th century in Buckland Abbey.

Buckland Abbey was the home of Sir Francis Drake, 'El Draco', a famous Admiral and lead the english against the Spanish Armada. Some concider him to be a pirate or at least a privateer- to the english, he is the epitomy of a hero of battle. Naturally he's Charlie's hero! There was an area upstairs where you could see what life was like on a 17th century ship. Here, I'm using a... can't remember the name of it. Basically it's a stick with a slidey bit on it and measured increments. You measure between a star and the horizon, and you can calculate your latitude and longitude that way from the reading you get. My trademark coat made me feel right at home here. Doctored to lighten the shot up as it was rather dark.

Gallows on the second floor (underground 8D) of Bodmin Jail.

Bodmin Jail was built in 1779. I'd not be surprised if Charlie spent a weekend there for being too rowdy at the nearby Jamaica Inn, a pub on Bodmin Moor that is notoriously piratical in nature. This place was a bit corny at first, and you have to walk through a pub to get into the jail itself- but once you've gone down to this floor, and the basement below it, it starts to get really eeiry. I don't believe this was the actual gallows they hung people from- there was a pit outside for that... *shudders*
So naturally here I am posing in Charlie's stead, who would be looking rather grimly merry...

Peahen in Repose, on the patio of our timeshare unit.

There's a bit of a story here.
We come to the same resort every year, this is year four of the tradition. This is the second year we've requested this one unit- T58. This unit faces a little grassy hillock which is a popular haunt of songbirds and jackdaws- and the resident peacocks. There's a brood of brothers and one sister, who appear to be young adults (The female is white, too 8D) and there are three adult males with all their tail feathers in who probably sired them.
And then there's her.
She ate out of my hand, as some of them are keen to do, but she's very picky about what she likes- she prefers raisins and bananas. She even tried my chilli-chicken kebab and ate the lot! She gets very terratorial of the patio, and when we came back one time we found her laid out, sunning herself in the afternoon. We're certain she posed for her pictures, and she provided us many giggles when she admired herself in the french doors. She reminded me a little of Ravyn, for some reason. We loved serving her hear at Cafe T58...

Finally, an arty shot of a clearing in... I have no idea where. I think it was on Dartmoor. The fog was very, very thick at this point.

I have more of these, too, if anyone wants them just ask and I'll post some up. You are more than welcome to use and abuse them.
