YES! Towers. I miss them sooo much. also just general emote-spamming whilst in a massive group.
I remember Narina and Quamar (I think they started it but can't be entirely sure...) ran around as sad deer or sth, can't remember. There was just a massive group of deer all running around spamming the sad emote. Hilarious hah
All that stuff already mentioned. Plus creating "clone" by spelling each other. And sometimes there would be spontaneous dance parties or games like Simon Says, spell/devout tag, and follow the leader. And then the member-organized events, like the zombie party. As far as I know the rut is the only member-organized event that's still a thing, probably because the people that used to organize the others are either not around anymore or just don't have the time.
I remember a "naked party" which I believe was to promote equality within the community and basically involved a big group dancing around without any sets.
Yes , something was named skinny dip party where deer got naked and tool a bath lol .
Someone remember the lightbringers event ?
There is still the meditation walk event fron Qadraptor .
Miss the conga lines too .
And sad emote deer where awesome! Still trying to peacock sleeping deer too lol .
Why is nobody doing these anymore , kind of sad !
Conga lines, Standing towers! <3
Though things are generally the same, there's loads of characters in forest nowadays. Back then more people were OOC, right? Now, I'm perfectly happy with the forest as it is and I myself add to the RP numbers. BUT as we're reminiscing, I do miss sometimes how many people played TEF just to be deer and have fun. With the remake though I'm sure TEF will have more people coming in with that playstyle, so there'll be more of a balance.
Peacocking, ahh... I remember that from a year or two back. I was 'baconed' once, I remember. Though now you've mentioned these things, I hope it'll happen more in-Forest ^^ it adds to the friendly atmosphere.
I hope so too! I really loved how the two types of players merged half and half. You have the character part and the intended human-being-deer part. Honestly I love both, but it'd be really cool to have an active community of each.
A friend of mine hosted a Valentine's Day event several years ago and it was really fun to see all the deer--OOC and IC--dancing with friends and family. There were even a few community posts where other deer would ask each other to the dance which was really sweet.
Ah, Fish, that's really cute! Maybe we could run something like that again. I love the idea ;u; and it's kind of a more 'human' Rut! I think having some more events in the Forest might make people feel more welcome.
Ah, perhaps we could do something together? I'd love to help out with something like this. Perhaps a springtime festival-meets-Valentine's Day... Hm, perhaps reviewing the Rut's history would help.
I've seen a lot of people feeling unwelcome in the community recently and I sometimes feel a little excluded too. But events like these would bring more people into the Forest and TEFc. TEF is a game, after all, and what's a game without fun?
That would be excellent! :^) Feel free to add me on instant messenger or email me so we can discuss and chill. My contact info is on my OOC and updates page at the bottom.
Towers, dancelines and peacocking, I miss that too :') I think some of the reasons I have a tendency to try to bring back old characters is not only because I miss the character itself, but also all the good memories attached to it and all the OOC fun - and IC for that matter - we had back then. <3
With that being said, I agree with Evern, I like the forest as it is but at the same time I definitely miss some of the fun we had back then that isn't happening much these days. :')
Fly, I was going to mention the Lightbringers group, but then I forgot!
It wasn't an event, though the group did have some parties. It was mostly a group about being kind and welcoming to new players and guests.
Oh, yes, I remember a Valentine's dance at some point! I don't think I had a chance to participate, though.
I really miss these things! The forest seems so much quieter these days and seems to have shifted more towards people RPing via Skype, etc. and not as much in-forest, while also shifting away from all the random silliness.
Anyone else miss RPing in people's biographies? Idk if it counts but it makes me very nostalgic. I still try and do it from time to time, something about it is sweet.
I do biography roleplay, but recently I've started Skype roleplay. Bio RP will still likely be my preference - I like people to feel involved with my characters ;;
I haven't seen many open threads recently. I was thinking about starting some up whenever I get the opportunity to let people roleplay, mostly those who might feel nervous about asking on character blogs. It's a shame to see people feeling excluded... I think if we can, we should try our best to be welcoming and encourage each other to interact ^^ after all, we are a community.

I still get the urge to peacock my friends when I know they're OOCly afk then let them come back to a surprise LOL

looking through my old account now
screenshots of the zombie party
spontaneous peacock party
and then there were things like this (just like CydaLuva83 mentioned)
ahhhh a little sad going through those and seeing people that aren't around anymore
edit:
found a picture of the "naked party" (where Snail--owner of the peacock-pelted deer--apparently didn't get the message X3)
And then there this
