To eat you need to either rub a pine tree or go find a mushroom tree. Rubbing a pine tree will give you the ability to eat the pine cone. This will also give you and antler spell to cast on another player. Eating a mushroom off of a mushroom tree will give you a mask spell to cast on another player. Pelt spells are obtained by laying next to a sleeping deer. Like the aforementioned spells, these can be cast on other players. The only pelts that are able to be gotten by yourself are the crying idol's red pelt (run through the idol and you'll turn red) and the devout pelt (pray at the twin gods). Both are temporary. You also need to be an adult deer to keep any spells other than flowers for more than a few minutes. Thirty days from the day you register you can keep spells, because you'll grow up. You can get flowers by going to a flower patch and clicking the button that appears.

Like I said, you can eat a pinecone, a mushroom, or lay by a sleeping deer. You get the spell that way. Then you cast it on someone else.
