Heilong (Black Dragon) is a mysterious black deer with shifting stars in his pelt. His antlers are large and dark purple. His Dark eyes reflect the night sky. Shy and distrustful, he only comes out at night to stroll through the blackened forest.

Origins
Heilong was born during an eclipse. Born from the shadows, his pelt shifted into an ever changing reflection of the stars overhead.
After a raging fire that killed his parents, Heilong became skiddish, distrustful, and scared. Isolating himself from all others, he turned towards the night. Hiding during the day and lurking throughout the nights, he grew and became more powerful, attuned to the moon and drawing energy from it.



The Fire
One year after Heilong's birth, a raging fire scorched part of the forest. His mother shielded him from a flaming, falling tree, which took her life on impact before his very eyes. Traumatized, the young Heilong fled towards the lake, swimming to safety.

The Aftermath
After the fire, Heilong was scarred. He lost his mother before his very eyes, and his father had been the first to burn. Lost and alone, he fell into a deep depression, isolating himself from all others.

Recovery
Heilong, after spending months in isolation, was found by Noirin and her herd. Noirin, a healer with a quirky personality, immediately adopted Heilong into the family. The Herd consisted of Peri and Heather, two fawns, Waefreleah, an elderly blind doe, Clarion, a sunny individual, and of course Noirin.
At first, Heilong was unsure of the herd. He was scared of rejection and of being judged, but mostly of attachment and loss.
However, after awhile he realized that loss was just another part of love, which he longed for, and began to open up.
Weeks became months, and when a year had passed it was as if he had never been alone. Heilong had found a new family and learned to open up.
Still shy around strangers but loyal to his new herd, Heilong has grown into a fully-fledged stag with a new hope in his life.

Heilong played with Cennétig and Clarion, and Clarion helped him get his pelt. First try was a success.

He now has the starry night pelt.
Clarion heard a strange noise, and Heilong went to investigate with him. He too heard it, and it sent shivers up his spine. Cennétig and Clarion want to explore it more, but Heilong is nervous and unsure.
Cennétig gave Heilong a flower, and Heilong decided to wear it. He has made Cennétig his friend, and feels very good about the future.
Heilong has found that he really loves flowers! He likes the purple ones the best.
