Scythe introduced me to this game a few days ago, and since then I've become addicted with it. So I wanted to make a blog for us TEF members who are playing. Basically, it's a game all about raising a clan of dragons and battling with them Pokemon style.

You choose from 11 different elements at the beginning, and depending on which you pick, your first dragons will be that element. You have your own dragon god and area on the map based on your element, and you can breed dragons to build your clan and trade with others.

) I've got a bunch of TEF members on my friends list on Flight Rising but I'd rather you let me know you want to be on the list than just add you without permission.

Alrighty, the list has been updated. If I missed anyone (new players or flight changes), just let me know and I'll add you/update your link.

Also I'm kind of bummed, I got another one of those "buried treasure" things by digging. Last time I got the barrel and it was only 5K. This time I got the crate. 2500 treasure. Come on guys, I was expecting like...10K or something.

Ah well...guess it's better than nothing.

One last thing, I'm still digging in Arcane to get those battle stones for you guys with arcane dragons (since they're apparently expensive, right?). I got an enfeeble. Can anyone use that? Just ask and I'll send it your way.

And I still have a Starflight skin (female imperial) from the Arcane festival that I don't plan to use. I don't really know what to price it at (the cheapest in the AH is around 50K), and wasn't sure if anyone's looking for it. So uhh...yeah send me a note or something and we can discuss it if it's a skin you want

Hmm, odd, you can try to just change the size to 350px then. Does pretty much the same thing.
and awesome! glad to share. it's extremely handy.

bonus tip: you can quickly scroll through numbers by putting your cursor before/between/after a number and then using the up and down arrow keys. this makes going through colors much more comfortable.

I've modified the dragon

I've modified the dragon preview a bit. More functional, I think.

I use Google Chrome, but this will probably work in any browser where you can tinker with the HTML (ie Firefox)

Simply right click a FR page (doesn't matter what page, as long as it's FR) > Inspect Element

Right click in the code area and select "Edit as HTML"

Delete everything in there and replace it with this:

A green and pink Pearlcatcher should pop up. Edit the numbers outlined on Ben's blog as desired.

Edit: Made a little table for my own convenience, linking here in case others find it useful or if Ben wants to copy it to that page or something idk but here you go

Edit 2: I MIGHT be able to get tertiary gene previews, but I think it requires the code for the marking scroll, which I don't happen to have. Does anyone happen to have one of the tertiary gene scrolls? You can either send it to me temporarily or go to preview it on one of your dragons and view the page source and send me that, I think. Just means I have to pick through more code, lol. Never mind, looks like the items are tied to the lair ID and dragon ID, and that might be why I can't get it to work.

I didn't know Chrome had a built-in inspector. I only tried it with Firebug lite and was unble to edit the HTML there. I'll add this info to the blog as soon as I get the chance. Your method is definitely a bit more simple, lol. I'll add that and your table too, unless you want the info on your own blog?
Safari also has a built-in web inspector which can been used for the same purpose.

Yeah, I tried messing with the gene scrolls before but to no avail. The current code is the one used for creating your first dragon, hence it doesn't show tertiaries.

Ahhhh, be careful, even if your way of generating previews works without lagging, admins have some sort of vendetta against people being able to preview their dragons (at least I haven't seen them give a straight answer yet). Last time someone was using the site to generate previews and the method spread around, they cracked down on it and threw around bans no problem. Even if your method is harmless they would most likely throw a fit anyway. ;-;
Hopefully I've worded this right and I'm not coming across as an... uh, as being hateful.

Alone-- As far as I know that was about some off-site generator. Now that I read up on it, apparently it is against the rules to reverse-engineer the code. ((meh))
I trust the TEF people to have enough sensibility to not share this method with whomever they please. P: I understand and share your concerns though.

Due to the amount of drama on

Due to the amount of drama on tumblr I think you should take it down from there at least I'd say. Plus it wouldn't be hard to track down your site account from your tumblr, meaning admins would have a name to pin it on and I'm sure those users that like to harass others over anything would have their say.
If they don't really have a way of telling that the code is being reverse engineered you should it be fine. When the preview offspring loophole was found last time, so many people found out about it and started using it it caused a lot of site lag and the admins had to go looking for the cause.
I think it was the first offsite generator incident that really makes me question them though, as far as I am aware they didn't really have the rules set up to deal with something like that, and instead of warning they just slapped down the bans, with a sort of "wastes site resources, dragons should be a surprise~" explanation. Don't quote me on that though I could be remembering wrong or getting mixed up.

They wouldn't allow a dragon 'catalogue' tumblr to be made either (wanted to have all available colour combos on it eventually, lofty goal there pfft @_@;). If the user hadn't asked before going ahead with it I guess they would have been banned too. They didn't want an offsite source having such a large collection of their images or what have you even though people spam their dragon images all over tumblr every day, they have to upload them to make sales threads and such. Eh. Their site, they can do as they please I guess, it is up to them at the end of the day, I have no problem understanding that. I know that recently out of nowhere they cracked down on dragon names that made any sort of drug reference, slang, legal, or not. No problem with the alcoholic ones though, bit of a weird one there.

This is one of those issues where I can't agree with the admins at all. I understand the fact that this specific takes up site resources obviously this won't work on a large scale. But preventing people from cataloguing stuff? I don't agree with their idea of dragons being a surprise. Seeing as you can easily reconstruct previews using the online psd files (which i will definitely keep doing), or even just use the search function to see what specific combinations look like, it's already a sort of obsolete rule.

I enjoy looking at previews, and for me it's much more fun than is guesswork. I don't know how it works on other breeding sims, but I know a lot of people on FR feel the same way as I do, so I can't in good conscience agree with their idea of keeping people from using any sort of preview methods. I believe users should be able to do whatever they perceive as more enjoyable. If someone likes previews, they can use them. If someone doesn't like them, they can avoid them. The current rule just takes more freedom than it gives fun imho and I feel like it's being held up out of stubbornness more than anything.

I’ve decided to offer some art commissions in exchange for Flight Rising stuff like treasure, gems and possibly dragons. I want to draw dragons specifically too so these are for FR art only. I don’t really have any FR art yet though so I’ll use some other dragon art I’ve drawn in the past for examples until I do have some.

I like this girl as is, so I won't be putting a primary gene on her, 'less I can round up an iridescent scroll. Pff, like that's gonna happen.
