First Snow! --->> First SnowMan!

I thought it would be great to share this news with you, guys! It's snowing soooo hard right now!!! yay! Winter is on its way to Russia! And it makes me so happy I wanna share this feeling with everybody here!! ( sorry, of someone may not like winter time

) Snowing somehow creates New Year's Eve mood

For me the first snow is always kind of mystery.. 'cause you never know when it starts

(it's always a surprise) and can never guess if it stays on the ground longer than one day! This time it's reeeally cold outdoors and I hope the snow won't melt away too fast. Snowflakes are fluffy and large, dancing all the way down to the ground. Their dance is rather chaotic though and if you try to hold still while looking up at them, whirling, spinning, twirling and waltzing in the sky, you might feel a bit dizzy

It would be nice to know how's the weather in your country, guys? Are there any hints of oncoming winter? In Russia winter starts rather early (it gets cold in november already).

If winter came to Russia

If winter came to Russia already, that means it'll come to Poland soon (: First snow is always in November and is a suprise too. We don't know on which day it is going to start snowing. I like these first days (: Evening or night and fresh snow on the outside, good if it's still snowing. It's beautiful.

*to Dampir: I know what you mean! When it gets dark outside lanterns are tuned on and the snow is sparkling everywhere in their soft light - it's sooo beautiful

By the way, the "first" snow is still on the ground

, white and crispy (it's already mixed with the second snow). So winter has already settled in Russia (now heading for Europe I bet

Update: Some time has passed

Update: Some time has passed since the first snow covered my little town

and last night on my way home I saw a huge snowman! XD Yeah! He was taller than me and I couldn't help but take some photos of him. I think snowman-making is fun! I'm even a little bit envious of those who made that big snowman

(frankly speaking I don't remember when I made one myself... 10 or 15 years ago probably). Now he's standing there reminding every passerby of the upcoming New Year's Eve

but enough "blabbering"! I wanted to share with you some snowman photos (sorry, guys, their quality is poor 'cause I took them with my cell phone

). Hope they will cheer you up!

Russian winters are still pretty cold

, wish they were milder. As a child, I also liked sitting by the fireplace, looking at dancing sparks of fire, dreaming of something and letting my thoughts wander a bit... while it was snowing outdoors.

Now I live in a block of nine floors (my flat is on the eighth floor) with no fireplace ^_^ and I'll always keep my memories of that distant time when I lived in a small private house with a huge Russian stove XD

Yeah, I got adopted at the age of five and came here to the U.S. with my new mom and dad ( that was quite an experience.) I live in Iowa now so lol the winters are still cold but not like they were in Russia. And we have a fireplace

that always reminds me of Russia.

Oh, that must have been very

Oh, that must have been very exciting to go oversees at the age of five

(as you said quite an experience). And I was born in Germany. Than we moved to another country when I was only three years old.. It's a pity I have so few memories of my early childhood

(I remember only my childhood friend and our playground XDD - that was all that mattered to me that time I guess

). Hope to visit my birthplace just once...
Maybe you still remember some Russian?

They say language is easily forgotten when it is not practised/used, but perhaps you have some friends who speak Russian.
P.S. I'd also love to have a fireplace one day (at least electric one!!!! :3)

I've never seen snow! I have to admit, I like the idea of a snowy Christmas compared to a hot and humid one. It's getting into hotter, more humid days now and I don't like the heat. |DDD
The one thing I do like about summer is the cold showers. Maybe that's me~!

Ammy, you are from Australia! It's soo far away from Russia:)
That's too bad it never snows in Australia and you never got a chance to see snow!((( But you know now and then I wish winter time in Russia were much shorter than it is now XDD (cold weather may stay too long here - from November till March :|, let me count - it's 5 months!!! geez, almost half a year

). So, often I also dream of a much warmer winter (somtimes the temperature may fall 35 degrees below zero) or even of having no winters at all XDDDDD.
And cold showers in summer are always refreshing - I also like them

Yeah, I surprisingly picked

Yeah, I surprisingly picked up the English language really fast. All because I was around it so much. By the time I was seven, I could speak the English language fairly well. I did take some special classes when I started elementary, to help me improve. On the day my adoptive mom came to pick me up and take me to my new home, I had to show my new mom I could say all my colors and numbers in Russian. I have a video of that of me saying that all in Russian (it's really cute and funny to watch)

but my Russian didn't last me long though.

Though I hope to take classes to learn Russian again and hopefully, it will come back to me. Yes, I have several Russian friends only one of them can speak Russian really well it's fun to hear her talk in the language I used to speak.

Aww!! XDD it's hard to imagine summer in December, though it must be a usual thing for you >__<
And it's such a pity you've never seen snow!!! u__u I was born in winter (like you ;P), so i'm 100% a winter person too ^^ and it would be hard for me to switch to a festive mood when there's no snow outside T__T

I hope you'll have an opportunity to see snow with your own eyes :33
Today it's snowing again - the snow's now fresh and pure, but I fear it will melt away quickly as it did when it snowed for the first and second time this year... as it's still not cold enough for snow to remain frozen ^^
