First Day.

Well, here I am. A new member of Endless Forest, finally giving this game a try, as I've been considering it for a few months now. This isn't a first impression blog, per se, as I've barely invested any time so far, and I'm still learning the ropes. I'm hoping I'll enjoy my time here in-game, and in TEF community.
Hi, I'm wintergreen. I've spent more than my fair share of time on the computer involved in numerous MMORPGs, and MMOs, and all the hours searching for the next new game to spend my time in has led me here. I'm a casual gamer, for sure, and I could never "grind" to save my life, and looking for casual games is what brought me here, as I just so happened to see an off-hand comment about this game on a forum post awhile back. I'm a big fan of roleplaying, and I always enjoy hooking up with any existing roleplaying communities in games that I join. Well, I think that Endless Forest offers me a unique opportunity in this, as I don't have to search out a roleplaying community, when the game is centered around roleplaying itself. I like that.
However, I'm still getting the hang of this game, and my knowledge at this point extends no further than reading a bit about forest actions, and magic. I'm hoping to fully explore all the potential opportunities this game holds, and I might add that some of the cosmetics involved in the Forest Magic look spectacular. This game appeals to my rp, and my art nature. I love art, even if I'm rubbish at it, and this game is like a giant, moving canvas. Another great thing.

Well, I've rambled enough, and I'm spending time here that I ought to be spending getting used to this game. I wish fawns grew a lot quicker, because I have a month of not being a stag ahead of me. Oh well! Hopefully it'll pass soon enough, and I can still enjoy what this game holds. Hope that I stick around here, and I hope to enjoy my time with the game, and with all of you!

Bye!

P.S., here is a picture of my fawn, with my pictogram hovering over its head! I spent forever getting the perfect one, haha. I chose that one because the image actually reminds me of a jumping deer, with the swirl being its antlers. Yup! Posted just so you all know who I am! Hope to see you soon.

Thanks for the welcome,

Thanks for the welcome, PrairieWolf!~

I'm enjoying exploring the expansive, enjoyable world a lot! I think I'll let my deer continue on in his life, and then just see what path that leads him to. I see there are some wonderful bios, and I love that, and I will in time make one too, but not until my deer becomes more 3-D to me.

Once again, hope to see all of you, and your characters soon.

I am glad to hear you are

I am glad to hear you are enjoying yourself. : ) If you have any questions feel free to ask me anytime. Though when I first joined the most fun for me was learning in forest. Especially the trials of communication. That is why I think the creators made being a fawn so long. A new language takes time. X-D
And yes, there are many creative people running around the community as well as some amazing artists. I love seeing new biographies and characters. (Almost as much as I like making new characters. *Shameful alt-addict*)

Well, I've been on for a few

Well, I've been on for a few hours now, and I just love it! It's so gorgeous, and I've really enjoyed the company of other deer so far. The only problem I have is figuring out easier ways of communication. It seems like many other deer use multiple strings of emotes to get a point across and such, but yet I know next to nothing, and was wondering if there was any form of structured wildlife communication between deer. Does anybody have any tips for my deer, to help him learn to better communicate? Thanks!

EDIT: Additionally, on other's profiles I am able to see their deer's "avatar", yet on mine it just flashes random pictograms continually. How can I set it so that it registers mine?

To 'string together' emote

To 'string together' emote it's easier if you bind them to the F-keys. I am going to assume you know what I mean since you have played other MMOs. Just hold your pointer over the emote you want and hit an F-key that you want it to bind to. As far as I know (and believe me I've tried a few things) you can only bind to the F-keys. I wish you could bind to the numpad which in other MMOs I tend to use a lot.

As for the "avatar" aka your pictogram on the community site it is glitched. Second generation pictograms tend to be and as far as I know there is no way to 'fix' it yet. Those that don't spin are first generation pictograms. What some people do though is get a screenshot or copy from their pictogram link and load it up on their display pic'. In other words where you have your "sky/sun" pic there.

Thanks for the help again,

Thanks for the help again, PrairieWolf! However, I attempted to do the key-binding a few minutes, and it didn't work! Is there something that will let me know when the button has been bound? I hover over it, press e.g. F1, and I have no results. I pull the cursor away, and press the button. Poof. No change at all. Doesn't react, and I'm wondering if it has something to do with my computer reacting to Endless Forest, as, for instance, pressing 'P' does not take a screenshot. I've tried it many, many times, checked the correct folder, still nothing. I'm not sure how to fix this!

EDIT: The hotkeys are now working, I must have been doing it incorrectly, however, pressing 'P' still does nothing for me. Does it have to be a capital P? I've tried pressing it regularly, and capitalizing it with shift. No change. Do I need to hit Caps Lock? I'm not sure, I'd just really like to get this fixed, as I think this game offers plenty of artistic opportunities for screenshots, and so far I have to hit Print Screen, then exit Endless Forest, then paste it, then save it.

EDIT 2: Never mind, haha! I actually found the answer to my screenshot problems as well, as I needed to change my picture compatibility! (:
