Hi! So, I've never actually posted on here, seeing as I don't play The Endless Forest very often. When I do, it's usually in little bursts of activity - I'll start playing for a couple months and then I'll forget about it. And that's what happened today:
I decided to download the game again, and unfortunately, it only gets up to 1-2 fps. Which has never happened before (my previous Windows 8 laptop was able to handle it wonderfully, and this Windows 10 laptop is supposed to be a gaming laptop). I've set all the settings in the menu down as low as they can go and turned off blinking, etc. But it's still 1-2 fps. I can move my deer around and whatnot, though it's extremely slow.
I figured that maybe connecting would help, but whenever I try to click "Connect," nothing happens.
Any idea how to fix this??
Hello there! Unfortunately,
That doesn't help you, though. I'd first recommend not running any other program while you're on TEF, or be aware of how much GPU each program you're running takes up. Those antivirus programs that run on a schedule can lead to huge performance drops.
I also read somewhere that some folks saw better performance updating their Java?? lol I mean it could be worth a shot.
Let me know how it goes! Also consider this a bump for more tech-savvy folks than myself to maybe offer some advice 8')
It seems like updating Java
After I updated it, I restarted my computer and TEF finally started to cooperate. I can log in and see other deer now! (I just hope it doesn't start to regress - I've had it happen where an issue in a game seems fixed and then it just pops up again.)
Thank you so much for the tips!
EDIT: actually, it looks like I spoke too soon. The problem's back...
I'm not surprised, considering this happens to me a lot.
Hopefully, it'll fix itself over time? I'm still grateful for your help, though!
