You probably don't want to know why we need to know this.
Some things are best left unsaid.
Especially if they involve pink bellies, obese deer, and religious figures.
I do believe so, because every male mammal I've ever seen had have nipples. Not that I've seen many mammals up close other than humans, dogs, and cats xD

"The cruelest prison is one we make for ourselves out of fear and regret."
They probably do. I have seen nipples on male cats, dogs, ferrets, rats, and rabbits along with obviously boys. So why not male deer? They're probably very small and underdeveloped though with the lack of female hormones to make them function-able. XD
I doubt it, since hinds feed thier offspring similar to the way cows and goats do. Mammals such as dogs and cats who are lined with them, with 8 pairs or so, I can understand. But I believe a doe's teats are a little different. I'm not one hundred percent sure, I'm not sure at all, but I think not.
What a question!
Yes but male horses don't have nipples :c
So we thought stags might be like horses.
I've never been close enough to a male deer to check.

Deer aren't like horses. Closer to rabbits and goats, cows.
Also, male rats don't have nipples, so it can't be expected that every male mammal has them..
I would say that, developmentally speaking, male deer probably do have the same tissue in roughly the same areas as the females, but I do not know whether you would consider just having the tissue the same as having a nipple. Most likely it is very underdeveloped and the similarity could only be seen in the lab.
Well, deer are even toed ungulates. Closest to goats, sheep and cattle breeds. Horses are equines, which would be next closest, and then rodents, canids and felines would be least related. Humans are way out.
Because of the anatomy of the genitals in even toed ungulates, the testicals would be in the place where the mammary glands would be. So there's probably nothing there. Also it depends on how the foetus develops- in the 'paw' footed mammals such as dogs, cats, and us, we start off being female, then we are affected by hormones turned on by our genes. XX keeps the foetus a female, XY becomes a male through the development of the reproductive organs. Hence the defunct nipples remain, highly underdeveloped. Some conditions cause the growth of mammary glands in male humans, I believe.
In conclusion, probably not. However it's hilarious to think of a stag with boobs, so anatomy be damned and have fun with it.
Since all babies mammals start off as female in the womb, you would think that male deer probably have tissue similar to breast tissue just extremely underdeveloped. The mammary system of deer, cattle, sheep, and goats are set up differently than those of cats, dogs, pigs, and humans. The mammary system of the female deer is right where the male deer's reproductive system would develop, so I'm wondering if mammary tissue in the male deer is completely non-existent for that reason. I am SO asking the vet that I work with this question. XD
EDIT: The male cows (both steers and bulls) at the barn I feed at all have nipples.
Cows are pretty close to deer, right, since they are both ruminants....
Lol guys.
I'm not sure you understand the idea of nipples.
Animals that have an udder (an organ formed of the mammary glands of female quadruped mammals) like cows and cats and such have 'nipples' on their belly region.
Primates/humans/some quadruped animals like the elephant have breasts and therefore have nipples on their boob region.
If male deer did have nipples, they would not be on the chest, they would be next to/near the reproduction organs. However I doubt it, because the teats would be larger like a cow I would think, not like a teat on a cat....
Bump for great justice.

I remember asking myself this before, actually.

Actually this conversation
It was partially off a conversation as to whether the red marks from pink bellying my deer Rhys could be interpreted as religious figures.
Then I offhanded mentioned 'Elvis appearing on his nipples' or something similar.
And then in a side conversation I got asked whether Sasha would have nipples in his deer form.
because apparently my mates wonder about these things.
Haha that's rather
If you still want 100% proof, you could ask a friend who hunts who might have recently got a stag?
I'm a zoology major, so I WOULD ask my professor, but I think it'd be way too awkward :S
