Basically deer use signals since they can't talk. Usually a curtsie means hello or thank you and of course there is a nod for yes and no. If they make a strange noise, they are calling other deer to come to them and stay still when trying to hear the other deer use their call. There are many other signals that I have to learn, though, and find out what they mean so I will try posting it as soon as I can.
Let me clarify some for you.
- Bowing : Commonly used as a way of saying hello and thank you. However, it can also be used when you're leaving the forest as a method of saying goodbye.
- Head tilt : Expresses confusion obviously, but depending on context ( for example, when casting magic on other deer) it can work as a way of asking for their opinion.
- Sadness : Needs little explaining, it's always used in the forest to express your bad mood.
- Amazement : Use this when you're amazed, or surprised by what the other deer just did.
- Anger : Lowering your head with your antlers in front expresses anger. Players don't like this being used a lot since it can lead to unnecessary drama in the forest or later in the community, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
- Rolling on the floor : Means laughter.
- Fear : Self-explained.
And then the emotions bar:
- Tapping the ground : Translates to 'follow me' or 'come here/sit here with me.'
- Taunt : Another way of expressing your anger or frustration.
- Stand on hind legs : Depending on the context, this can express anger or in playful context, just expressing your happiness.
- Nodding and shaking your head : Yes and no, as you already know.
- Dancing : PARTEEH.
You can combine these actions to create some funny results as well, the best advice I can give you is that you try them out for yourself. You have the concept of mooing in your mind already, but remember spamming it too much can annoy other players and they surely won't come to you after that.
I hope you enjoy the Forest.
