I dreamed I was a dove. Pure and white, I soared above the problems of the world. There was no darkness. No loneliness. No heartache. There was only me, and the warm sun at my back.
The dream dissolves. I awake shivering.
My blood pumps icicles. I cannot see past the hot chill in my eyes, so I turn my gaze inside. Inside, which has been my home for the past...
...I can't remember.
My chest aches.
Inside. Inside, there is something missing. What is it? Something important. Something I've forgotten. The dove has flown and left me here, frozen waist-deep in my own sorrows. I don't remember carrying these sorrows. How long has it been? The sun echoes through my tears, blinding me.
This world is all wrong.
Where is the darkness and the gentle candle that lights my path? Where is the flame that drives my horrors to the brink of my mind? Where is the flicker in my heart that takes the pain away?
This pain...
This pain is overwhelming...
Not just in my limbs, which cannot lift me, or my stomach, which purrs and whines and gnaws itself. Only itself. No, this pain is worse than that. This pain feels like dying. Like death. Like emptiness.
Where is my flame?
I cannot remember. I cannot remember ever feeling whole.
Here in the grass, the cool ground beacons. I could lie here forever. The forest would allow it. I could lie here and lie here and never get up.
I'm so happy to see this, it's like the perfect grounding to your Entry of Epic earlier, and I feel like this carries his story forward from big point to another. Wonderful. I love this so much. xD

I can't tell you how happy I am to read that ;u; I felt like there might be some confusion over just how serious the last entry was, since many people hadn't followed the initial Red vs. Gray issues. ...I wanted there to be no doubt that this was a severe break, and that Red is truly gone.
It was actually the dove that drove me to write this XD Isn't that wild? Amazing how inspiration can come from such a crazy random happenstance.
