STORY:
Ysrael is the embodiment of the human soul of a young girl
named Isabel who committed suicide at the age of seventeen.
Her human body survived in a comatose state for the initial
period after the attempt, during which she first appeared in the
forest as a fawn. She had few to no human memories, but had
very humanlike emotions, and was frequently visited by her
younger sister who's presence was so strong that she also
manifested alongside Ysrael as a fawn, herself, whenever
she was at Isabel's side.
Once Ysrael had aged into her adult form in the forest, however,
her sister stopped appearing entirely, signifying Isabel's death
had finally come to pass.
Ysrael has lived as a human-faced deer ever since, her body unable
to age and her humanlike qualities slowly deteriorating over time.
The Endless Forest acts as her purgatory.
Don't mind me, I'm just a

thank you both ♥ I'm
and yess, DoTF soundtrack remains my most favorite and most-listened to videogame soundtrack of all time. it's held a special place in my heart since I was a young kiddo :,)
;D Also, didn't mean to
Also, didn't mean to "eavesdrop" here but I just realized... Are you guys talking about Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future...? The PS2 game (or even the older PC one)??! Because if you are then I will go into cardiac arrest because I get so excited when that game is mentioned because no one I know irl knows of this game, that game is my life (literally, my childhood friend and I spent YEARS beating the PS2 ecco).
sorryforthewordvomitbutomgEDIT: ohHHMYGOSH YES THIS IS... ATLANTIS LOST.
aaaaaaaaaaa YES I'm so
I'm so excited by both of you being fans of the game - that's so uncommon to find. I've only ever played the PS2 version of the game but I love all iterations of our starry-foreheaded dolphiny friend. when I was in elementary school my dad bought the game for me because it looked cute and innocent.......... and of course it was very much not either of those things and I was scarred for life in the best way possible.
I remember writing fanfic for it as a kid, too, I was that obsessedyou can play it on a ps2 emulator too! I was doing it awhile ago for the nostalgia factor and also to take sick screenshots. I can't believe how well the graphics have held up over all these years, it was already impressive 15 years ago but it's still impressive now.
YAAS ECCO FANS UNITE *jumps
Ahh, it is so nice to find people who know of this great game. Aha, I bought the game when I was very young for the same reasons ;D The game did indeed look so simple and innocent, and boy am I actually very happy it didn't turn out as such haha.
AND DANG what beautiful quality those pictures are *follows you, Ooo you're INFP? I'm ENFP ayyy*
I think the graphics for the PS2 game were actually pretty rad, even though it was pretty old. I've done so much research of the game, especially when I finally completed it (anddd beat it a second time through, getting all the vitalits because ART). They had plans for a sequel, and I'm so bummed they didn't go through with it because I would love for Ecco to make a comeback ;;
*follows you back* :'D I
I remember the game graphics are what stuck out to me the most as a kid. I wanted to show all my friends how REAL everything looked! (they all seemed more interested in playing Crash Team Racing though, hehe)
I also remember the Ecco game devs trying to kickstart 'The Big Blue' and failing - who knows what they're doing now. I'd also love an Ecco comeback with modern-day graphics but I feel like there's a slim chance of the narrative being as good as it was originally (just look at poor Skylander's Spyro ;_; )
Yeah, I always loved whole
Mhm, I remember that ;; *sigh* It's such a bummer.. Especially since, reading an interview with one of the game's artists, the game had to be shortened a lot because of the large load-time for the levels. We'll never know what could have been included, which seemed like it was enough material for another game. Until then, we just have the soundtrack... And the game Endless Ocean which is the only other thing I could find that was close to something like Ecco ;D
*crazy jumps all around you
Endless Ocean is indeed a very good Ecco-like game :')
I played and finished all the Ecco games and my favorite remains the 2nd one, Tides of Time, probably because it was the first Ecco I played in my childhood ♥. DotF is also very good, the 3D environment gives a new challenge and it is so immersive! (with amazing soundtracks, it is even better).
Sad there will be no new Ecco games, Sega keeps all the dolphin rights =C -sobs-
Also guys have you read "Startide Rising" by David Brin? If not go find it! cos this story inspires the whole Ecco series.
I've played Endless Ocean
and no, I have not read or even heard of Startide! gonna have to place a hold on it at the library... (just checked, and apparently the copy they have is currently checked out. sounds like the sign of a good book to me)
Great googly
Gggggahhh its always great when a character I like so much comes back.
:'D ♥ I am happy to
I am happy to be here. felt like switching things up again with my art and what better way to do that than with magical, human-faced deer? it's gonna be a good time, I'm sure
She is so gorgeous and so is
Thought I had tracked this,
