Yorres' den was well hidden from the rest of the forest. In-between the thin line, where the forest ended and began again. Teetering on the edge of time and space, night and day, death and life... It was a quaint little hole in the ground, guarded by a massive stump. Crawling into the hole Mystress immediatly noticed it was massive. Surely it couldn't be possible, a hole such as this, could not be made by deer-hooves alone! It was hard for her to believe something this magical could reside within the forest she only just began to explore...
"Yorres, I can't stand this anymore!" A doe's shrill voice called out. It was then Mystress noticed a rather stunning young doe in the corner surrounded and seated in a circle of candles. Yorres studied the doe intenly.
"What seems to be the problem Kaoori?" He walked over to her. It was apparent she'd been seated there all day.
"For the life of me I can't figure out this pinecone charm!" The obivous frusteration was growing in the small does voice. Yorres sat outside the circle of candles, and slid a book that Mystress hadn't seen, to him.
"Ok you're going to need to have a few things first--"
"It's tearing me apart!!!" The doe shrieked, bringing her face to the ground. Mystress raised an eyebrow. Yorres stood, and with it, the candles were blown out. Kaoori peeked up from the ground, opening one eye. Seeing the candles blown out she looked up at Yorres.
"Ok, it's time for a break Kaoori..." Yorres said with a slight laugh and a sigh.
"B-But. I wanted to figure it out... I just. Ok. A break. Then we'll get right back to it! Right?" Yorres nodded. Kaoori skipped to the other side of the room, breezing right by Mystress. Yorres cleared his throat, catching Kaoori mid-stride, she looked behind herself, her eyes grew wide. She turned around, clearing her throat, and bringing her slim legs together shyly. She dropped her ears, and looked down.
"Forgive me." Her eyes raised, and her ears with them. "Who do we have here?" Mystress bowed. Yorres introduced them.
"Kaoori, this is Mystress. Mystress, Kaoori, she's an apprentice of mine." Kaoori returned a delicate bow.
"Very good to meet you, Kaoori!"
"You too Mystress, will you be staying for dinner?" Kaoori looked at Yorres who winked at her.
"Um, yes I think so." Mystress laughed.
"It's always great to have company!" Kaoori dashed about the room, gathering up random things, baskets mostly. On the walls all around, dried herbs hung in neat groups, and candles attached themselves to any flat surface. "I'll be back Yorres, I'm going to go grab some dinner for us all!" Without another word Kaoori dashed out the door, with a basket in her teeth. Yorres and mystress exchanged glances.
"Dinner it is." Yorres smiled.
