Chapter 2 - Earth-brothers

Chapter Two - Earth-Brothers.

The sun was shining far over the horizon by the time fawn’s slender legs could propel her no more. She had run for what seemed like ages and then her fear had compelled her to walk beyond that. Now however, head bowed and lungs burning she could go no further.

Her sides quivering with effort she sunk down into the tall grasses that seemed to be a sea all around her and let her head droop to the earth. The ground was hard and cold and the wind still blew its icy breath over the land, but at least here there was no snow.

When the tiny deer opened her eyes again night had already begun to fall. The sky was a deep cobalt with its million spattering of diamond lights and the last of the after light of the sun was just slipping beyond the horizon. She felt too weary to stand. Her legs ached with the pains of her first run and her first meal had long since been spent. Her instincts told her that she needed something to nourish her, but her mother was nowhere to be seen.

Her mother...

The fawn lifted her weary head to the wind and sniffed, searching for the familiar scent that spoke of love and warmth and safety. It was nowhere to be found. She smelled sharp dusty smells which were the dry grasses around her, and deep earthy smells that mingled with something cool and moist, and then there was something musky.

The fawn’s ears stiffened as she remembered the last musky scent she had caught, just before...

She sniffed again, her fear giving her legs just enough power to make a wobbly stand and allow her better reach of the scent. To her great relief this scent was different. It was musky, yes, but it was a warm earthy musk that spoke of sun and grass. She was too small to see over the tall grasses that surrounded her, but the fawn could feel the earth quiver beneath her feet as the big musky-earthy-thing seemed to be moving close by.

Spero di potervi vedere in molti!

Time for a Break

Did I scare anyone? :3 I doubt I did
Yay for vacation time, I'm starting to to think I really need it :/. I'll be gone for the next few days, and then I'll be gone again from June 24-29. It seems like every time I go away something horrible happens or the drama goes into over-drive, so please play nice while I'm gone.

-hugs- Later guys, I'll miss you. It'll be interesting to see if the beach is more relaxing then the forest Smiling

EDIT: and on a happier note, today is Vision's doe day Laughing out loud

Bright Eyes - Chapter One

I finally have a title for my story, inspired by one of the most beautiful songs.
You may know what I'm talking about if you have seen the movie Water Ship Down. ^^

No dying humans this time, but more of an introduction chapter. I hope it's not too boring, there will be more blood soon XDD Enjoy!

CHAPTER ONE

A few months later…

It was a cold and windy September’s day, the sun had hidden behind the clouds and wasn’t planning on coming back anytime soon. Even though the animals in the forest didn’t know about real seasons, they could feel the autumn spirit was near. It was time to pray and welcome the new season. To thank the Gods for everything they might give, or take.
At least one of the young does was certain the Gods would take something from her. They were her number one love, the flowers. The soft patches of grass, surrounded by poppies or blueberries were her favorite resting places. She was going to miss them, as she believed she was some sort of princess to them. A princess of the flowers, like them she would weaken during autumn and die when the first frost would come.

Even though she was still a fawn, Fenqua had grown older from the things she had been through. And more important, she had grown wiser. She had nothing to complain, she had a wonderful position in the herd and she never had to worry about thirst or starvation. Fenqua’s caretaker had done anything to raise her properly, but her methods sure left their scars on her.

Diary of Seed 6-11-08

I miss my fawnhood: I miss hanging out with Scape all the time, and the times Payton and I were togethor as fawns, not sure of the feelings that would pull us togethor like leaves in the current of a river...I miss the feeling of a big, connected community: I still see it now and again...but for sad things, not happy ones. Maybe it was that desire that set me off trying to do a service nightly. It worked well last night: there weren't many of us, but we had a good time. I would have been happy to have that again tonight.

At first, I figured, well, not many deer were on, but they could get on soon...I don't know who I was fooling. Magnet did a very good job of keeping my company: the two of us waited in the ruins, calling out to deer who, I guess, decided not to listen. I'm hoping that those few found better things to do, rather than there being a misunderstanding. But these things do happen, I suppose... I waited for 10 minutes or so, and when no one other than Magnet or I showed up, I decided I would just walk back to the bridge.

In lighter news, I watched birds near the deermuda today: I liked the feeling of their little claws on my antlers, the bustle of their come and go...there's a poem in there somewhere, I'm sure. I notice that many of the animals in the forest are like the deer who live here...

I'll try tommorow, I'll try tommorow...

((Maybe I should try a different time...))

Just another day

So I'm feeling a bit blah today and went back to the Forest to just and have a good time. So I took a shot or too, and compared them with some older ones I've taken earlier and haven't posted yet. So yeah... I'm just gonna share them.

Miorrowind likes chasing bugs and trying to catch them. I think at first he confused the peacock watching him though. XP

I've also noticed that there are a couple other fawns with similar pictographs to Miorrowinds. He likes playing with those fawns, or just staring at them.

And if you're curious I found a couple stags and mostly we just ran circles around eachother today, then I lost them and it seems like we were playing hide-and-go-seek at the ruins. That was fun. ^^
Is it just me or does the live forest map never seem to show what's actually going on in the forest?

A Talented Community

I just had to come on here and say how gratified I am to be part of such a creative, talented community (and that goes for all producers of creative things, regardless of the medium). Quamar's and Pepokeen's recent art just blew me away.

Here is a blog post about this awesome communiy. It's one of the many reasons people should join this game.

In other news, I haven't been able to get in the Forest all week due to severe computer problems. I am using another computer for my Internet needs.

All of you guys are awesome! *drops weapon of mass-nuzzlation*

Hanging Flowers - Chapter 9

"Skokey...Skokey, wake up..."

Skokey weakly opened his eyes. It was almost blinding, what he saw. He let his eyes adjust to the bright light.

"Skokey... My poor boy..."

A sillhouetted figure of a stag stood before him. His appearance was glorified with a bright yellow light. Skokey could barely make out the ghostly object hanging above the figure's head.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?"

"I..I don't know... What else am I supposed to do?" He asked, still bewildered by the darkened figure.

"You're in so much pain..."

"You have no idea..." Skokey squinted, trying to seek out any detail of the figure. He completely opened his eyes, tears starting to spill over, "...It's you..."

"Skokey, you shouldn't do it. There's no reason for you to."

"How should you know? How can I keep going at this point? What could there possibly be for me?"

"Remember what I taught you. That's all you have to do."

The light started to fade away, the figure of the late stag diminishing as well. Skokey got up, pleading for the light to come back. But soon, it was night again, and Skokey realized he had just opened his eyes.

"It was a dream..." He got up. There was a full moon out, everything was glistening silver. The stars shone brightly, twinkling like diamonds. A breeze flew overhead, blowing some leaves off trees as the rest clattered together. Skokey started to sob, laying himself down again. A small pool of tears formed below his face; it too had a silvery glow to it. "...Dad..."

***

Skokey awoke again. His face was still wet. He looked about himself. Everything was the same.

Timber...

You know I'll be away from the forest for the rest of my summer, two months, I just wanted to know if you still wanted to have Isa as a mate, when more than likely you won't hear from her very often, let alone get to see her. And I just got news that my dad currently has no internet. I'm not sure if you'd prefer waiting for her all summer, or not. I'd like to know before I leave (tomorrow at 4AM oO) for vacation.
