Loneliness:;.~

I feel this emotion very often now.

Today I awoke to a sunny Forest. I thanked the Gods for the quick weather change as my brother and Xylia gave me scrutinizing looks for saying so. They were apparently distraught that the Forest was normal, so I went in myself. I unwaveringly went to the Twin Gods’ statues to pray and thank them, and I found my hooves taking me towards the Sunbeam.

Now, I had never known Run. I knew she was a great person in mind and body.

I bowed in the deepest of respects and lay there for minutes as I listened to the sounds of birds; not wolves. Is this how death felt? If I died, would people mourn me every day? … Most likely not, ‘fore none know me well. How would I die? Would my father kill me, like he murdered my mother? Would the pain be quick, or would it linger as I faded? Would there even be pain…?

I cannot think about death yet. I am too young.

I walked to the Idol and was greeted by my brother, the one called Swallowtail, and the one called Rutilus. Swallowtail was a very quiet doe, never really speaking out. I thought her like me and surveyed Rutilus, a golden stag like my love. He was kind and made me feel welcome in the tiny little group. We pranced around for a bit before he looked at me with bright blue eyes, bowed, and left.

After he left, I felt loneliness clench my heart, and my brother and Swallowtail left too. I curled up around the ever-crying Idol to ponder life… And to ponder death.

Best Regards,

Aspen;;

ENDLESS FOREST FUNERAL

Join us for THE ENDLESS FOREST FUNERAL for Angela Jury today.

Anybody can attend, and I would really appreciate it if some people would. Angela Jury would have loved endless forest, and her family misses her so so terribly much...
~
We will begin at abruptly that time, so be ready. We will start out at the CRYING IDOL. Please turn yourself Red, in honor of Angela's favorite color.

When it is time, I will stand up and bow down to you, and wait for a couple of seconds to let you know to get up as well. When we are to leave, I will begin to walk to the RUINS, and then break out into a run. We will arrive at the Ruins Graveyard where we will sit for 10 minutes. After that, I will bow down to signal that the funeral is over.

Thank you to all who attends... It really means a lot to me, and her family.

Origins chapter 2

<=To chapter 1 * To chapter 3=>

Author's Notes: Whew. Already chapter 2. I'm on a roll. XD Though if this pace suddenly slows down, it's cuz this isn't normal for me. Heck, I have fanfics I haven't updated in a few years. ^^; But you're not here to hear about that. So, here's

Origins
Chapter 2
~*~
He was alone. No other deer from the herd in sight.

Frankly, he was beginning to like it that way.

A sigh.

…ok, so he didn’t like it.

His mother hoped he didn’t take notice of the stares and whispers, but truthfully, he did. And every one of them hurt.

Especially when he’d tried to join the conversation.

He winced at thinking of the reactions he’d gotten when saying his dad was bright red, and called the Crimson Drifter because of it.

The other fawns had laughed, calling him names he tried to block out.

“Flat-faced freak” being the most memorable. What had they meant by that anyway? Deer didn’t have flat faces? Sure, everyone else in the herd had faces that were long and ended in narrow snouts, but was having a face not like that really so strange?

He gazed at his reflection in the waters of the calm brook. His face, so different, stared back at him sadly.

“There must be deer like me out there somewhere…” he mumbled to himself.

“Oh, but there are.”

His head shot up.

“Who said that?!”

No answer. Just the buzzing of the blue dragonflies zipping by as they caught their meals. One flew close to his ear, causing it to twitch, trying to bat it away. He shook his head in irritation, the buzzing making his ear itch.

“I did.”

Gray eyes widened. It was louder this time.

He frantically turned his head this way and that, but there was no one else in sight.

The dragonfly continued to buzz in his ear, actually landing on it.

Whee, random...

I clad myself in the ghostly wears
And trickle down the stream

My tears, they drive it down and down
They feed the river's dream

To one day fall-in, drip by drop
Into a stagnant gleam

And so, I bid the stream, "Adeau,"
To greet the pond as Queen

Whee.

That was completely random.

Made no sense, did it?

I just felt the urge to write about the forest stream...XD;

EDIT: All Better!

I'm in the forest...maybe...

*hopes vipin won't leave* I'm gonna curl up by the Vipin I see, and beg that you don't leave the forest (or you'll poof for me)...

*is really depressed and feels lonely*...

EDIT: Nevermind...Anzel felt far too meek and sad to sit right next to Vipin...

EDIT 2: Feeling much better now...so, after getting lost a few times, I've decided to dance in the blue bowl for a bit. Join me if you wish :3...

*wonders what SS and Butch are up to*

A Pleasant Day in the Fog (lots of pics)

There's fog in the forest today! (and wolves <.< >.>) This seemed to put an end to the recent drought of players as quite a few logged in to experience the fog.

Dance party!

Next, Kelvana went hunting for the wolves, tracking their calls through the forest....

Several times he heard their calls very close by, but none would answer his challenge.

Cowards.

He also played mini twins with another deer.

Joined at the butt.

Kitiri also got a chance to enjoy the new weather.

Protecting fawns from the wolves.

And dancing with some more.

To everyone Kelvana and Kitiri hung out with..........it was a blast!

My Take on Herds

I see the issue of herds coming up again and again. Please know that this entry is not in reference to any particular player, and please read the whole post if you plan on commenting. I don't want to hurt people..

Copied and edited from a forum post:

I'm going to repeat myself on this subject, and after this, I will say no more. I do not mean this in a mean way. This is my just being frank.

Herds would be better suited to a game with a much larger map area and in an environment that encourages making groups that could be antagonistic toward one another, but this is not the case in this game.

Back in September/October of 2007, we had people starting herds. There were even threads with herd member sign-ups. This caused in-group/out-group animosity and drama. People wanted to be the boss, and people even went so far as to claim a part of the Forest for their herd and get in a tizzy when others would hang out in "their spots". The Forest was loud with bellowing and fighting at that time.

Michael and Auriea never, to my understanding, wanted to implement herds. All of the players are meant to be on equal ground and as part as one big community. Even the fawns, being new to the game, are treated with respect. The only players in this game who have any real authority are Michael and Auriea, the Twin Gods.

No matter what the environment, whenver you split people into easily identified groups, antagonism, competition, stereotyping, and other problems occur. I don't want any of this to come to the Forest.

For a scientific investigation of this, check out this page about the famous Robber's Cave experiment by Muzafer Sherif.

Really, I am not being mean. I just want to keep these problems from coming to the Forest.
