Totally Sane - Part 3

Sunlight burned Aspen's eyes as she slowly awoke. It was heading towards noon now, with a warm breeze drifting through her little spot under the bridge. The magpie doe laid still for a moment, allowing the cool water to wash over her body. After a moment, she shifted, and discovered that she was not alone.

Pandemonium had changed. Her pelt was now the spotted Orca pattern, her antlers black and spiky, and the colorful peacock mask covering her face. The doe sighed in relief, saved from a brief moment of panic. She was back to normal; her change in appearance made it concrete. Gently, Aspen prodded her friend. "Pan?"

"Unh."

The older doe let out an enormous yawn and let her head fall from the bank into the water. After blowing a steady stream of bubbles, her eyes opened fully, and she raised her neck out of the river. "Didja have to wake me up? Had a crazy night." Aspen smiled faintly. "I saw the lightning. Kinda figured." With a quick heave of her legs, she was on her feet, and shook the water out of her pelt. Pan snorted as the droplets rained down on her. Staggering upright, she immediately careened into the side of the bridge. The magpie-pelted doe grinned, holding back laughter. Her friend's ataxia always served as a little pick-me-up. As Pandemonium righted herself, Aspen glanced around. "Come on. Let's go find Quad."

It didn't take long for the duo to reach the edge of the Pond - one on a straighter path then the other. The violet doe looked around for the familiar two-toned pelt and huge red antlers of the friendly stag. Instead, however, she spotted a huge, bone-white rack, and a swirling golden pelt. Her face paled. "Oh, no-"

"OI, MAGS!" Pan was already sprinting towards Magnet. Skidding to a halt in front of him, she lost her balance and toppled into the water. Nonplussed, she rolled on her back and grinned up at him. "I swear, I'm turning into a fish. So, where's Quad?"

So? You must be the new stag around these parts. Well you came to the forest at the wrong time my son, yes you did. Oh, so you wanna know why? Well I’ll tell ya, it all begins about hundred years from now. There was a deer both greater and stronger than us; His antlers where large and wide with prongs at the end that curved backwards. He had thick fur so he could with stand the harsh cold.

He was called the Great Irish deer, and there where many of them. They roamed the plains. But some minor problems began to appear. There was a shortage of females so it was hard to really populate. Others have theory of strange things with long sticks would hunt and kill them, or that food became short, or the weather began to change. Soon after it was all said and done they became extinct.

Well, some went down fighting. But most submitted and that’s really why there’s none today. Soon our forest began to take root and the plains disappeared. Now all that remains of there deer is grass produced by there bodies. But, there was one deer that did not turn to grass, oh no, he was incased in very hard and cold shell. But in some way it was like a freezer, but he was more like rotten meat.

Well the forest got hotter and sunnier. Now just to tell ya I’m not all of a science stag but I believe his case melted. His soul still remained in his carcass. He remembered his past, and he seeked revenge. He arose from the ground, his face was gone it was all skull, his hoof bones showed and blood trickled down them like water. His shoulders where gashed and as well as his sides; his rib cage was showing! And his antlers, his beautiful black antlers turned blood red, and his fur turned dead grey.

Joker - First days in the Forest

I'm going to make stories for a month now, because it took one month for her to be a full grown Doe.

First day:

She had already met Mustang and Reply. Now she wanted to explore the Forest. She saw butterflies, cute flowers and other deer. She loved how the Does looked, and everytime she saw an adult Doe, she couldn't wait until it was her turn to have Doe-day. Other things she liked really much was the flowers. At once she saw them, she had to put them on her head.

Origins chapter 5

<=To chapter 4 * To chapter 6=>

Author's Notes: Again, woah, I'm posting. o_o Though personally, I'm not too pleased with how this chapter came out. There's no dialogue, so it feels kinda...bland. Very little happens, though I wrote it cuz it's based on real events, interpreted a slight bit differently since I know more since then, and...I hardly remember what happened that day. ^^;
Oh, and...please don't kill me for what I did here either. XD;

I now present

Origins
Chapter 5

~*~
Golden sunlight streamed through the branches of the trees, warming the land below. Song birds twittered back and forth with one another, sharing news and gossip as they filled the air with music. A white dove would fly by occasionally, enjoying the pleasant weather of the forest. Only the squirrels seemed nervous as they scuttled through the leaf litter. They would pause, glance at a nearby clearing, and hurry off.

It became clear what had them on edge. A deer was in the clearing. A fawn with a flat face, fast asleep in a shaft of light.

There was a groan.

The fawn was stirring.

Heavy eyelids lifted to reveal bright gray, the young deer taking its first look at this place.

Everything was blurry. He blinked for a moment, clearing his vision as it adjusted to the new surroundings.

Everything was in warm shades, the trees being light beige and cream colors, and the ground red-toned with wheat-like grasses.

Blinking again in surprise, the young deer slowly rose to his hooves, shakily standing as if for the first time.

To him, it was.

He had no idea where he was, or how he may have gotten here.

He sniffed the air on instinct, searching for the musty scent of predators he somehow knew.
