Break-In Part 2

“HIT THE DECK!”

And, as usual, they were the only two to drop at the roar from the young woman. A blast shook the fourth level of the skyscraper, sending a simmering heatwave across their backs and a fireball barreling into the horde. Those who did survive quickly toppled out of the broken windows. Renojack and Her stumbled upright. “Bigger than usual”, the young man commented with an easy grin. Tuna patted her bazooka and slipped it back into its holster. “It was a bigger crowd.” They set off at a trot down the hall without another word.

The hostage chamber lay in front of them now. Her paused, staring at the keypad next to the door, but Tunafish grabbed the nearest fire extinguisher and smashed it without a word. The doors swung open smoothly, and there was Bale. He was sitting on a chair in the middle of the room, bound, but ungagged. Before he could do so much as open his mouth to exclaim anything, his girlfriend had crossed the room and was picking the lock on his handcuffs. “Can’t talk, busy doing my job.” Her leaned against the wall next to the door, holding her gun at eye level. Renojack peered out cautiously. “Suits, coming. Fast. Make quick, love.”

“I know, got it.” The cuffs clattered to the ground and she was over to the see-through, glass wall, peering down. “Cycles ‘re just beneath us. We can probably climb down if-“

“NO TIME!” Her sprang out and pulled the trigger thrice, dropping two grunts. “We’ve got company!” Renojack leapt into the center of the room and pulled Bale up. “You’re limpin’, I know. Bear it.” He pulled the young man to the left to avoid five shots. Her stared at the back of Tuna’s head frantically. “We’ve gotta GO!”

She cocked as her friend turned slowly and stared into her eyes. Slowly, a grin spread across her face. “Yes.” She looked to RJ.

Very simply, I can't connect

My computer keeps trying and trying, and I've changed my firewall to let the program through, yet it won't connect.

Break-In Part 1

“How in God’s name are we gonna get up there?”

Her shrugged. “I dunno. Seemed easier on the map.” She surveyed the huge building – it was harborside, which would make for an easy getaway, but they had to get in first. And get to the fifth floor. And get the loot, Bale, and keep from dying along the way. Biting her lip, she looked at Renojack. “Can you get us in?” His eyes were doubtful, but still, he nodded. “Yeah. Come on.”
Three masks were donned. Sparrow, dove, osprey.

The trio crept around to the front of the building. A lone man, suited and wearing sunglasses, was standing in front of the handprint pad for the entrance. Tuna looked to Renojack, who nodded. A quick toss of a blade, and the huge form crumpled to the ground. Renojack was over to him in a second and sliced his hand at the wrist neatly. Pressing it into the pad, he mouthed, Let’s go.

The doors were kicked in easily. Men swung around, only to be gunned down by the trio. Tunafish leapt to the side, narrowly avoiding a bullet, and yanked the gun out of a dead worker’s hand. It was big – much bigger then her shotgun. Swinging it to the right, she took out three more guys and ducked down below a table. Her and Renojack took care of the rest quickly and efficiently.

The sound of an intercom made Her jump out of her skin. ‘We’re hearing gunshots. Is there an intruder?’ Before she could decide what to do, Renojack picked up the transmitter and relayed, smoothly and easily, “The intruder’s been taken care of. All’s fine.” He set it down, grinning at the two women. “Don’t think he’d memorize his employee’s voices.” Her grinned at him. “Fantastic. Let’s go.”

Fruits and Merries

The sour bitters of the blade fruit
Stain the tongue of none the wiser
And so the clonèd sourfruit, dandelion-bleached
Lies there, motionless, avoided for its sweet assumèd treat

Or, more commonly...once bitten, twice shy. Who eats the sour grape may ne'r try another. But if the first grape tasted is sweet, a thousand sour grapes through shall you devour simply to taste a sweet grape once more.

The poem sounds like it has a hidden meaning, doesn't it?

...well, let me let you in on a secret: ...there is no secret. I just wrote what sounded nice. Rhyme and rhythm influence what words and phrases I can use.

I'd like to make my apologize to everybody...

Hi guys, and sorry I went away for so long.
Lot's of things happened to me this summer, and I have not been able to come back in the forest before today.
I haven't had the time to make the drawings I promised before I left neither.
So I'd like to apologize to all of you, and hope to see you again in the forest.

Uhh... gais?

Was everyone else unable to access the TEF site, community site, forum, and the game itself for a couple days? Because it happened to me. I think it was the website because the rest of my net was working fine but I want to double check. It was pretty sad being without any TEF all weekend, I missed hanging out on the site and it was lonely being in the Forest by myself.

Also, while I couldn't connect and was wandering the Forest as a nameless deer I noticed a lot of orange candles all over the place (pictures will be uploaded later). Is that normal? Or was something special going on while I was cut off from the Forest?
