Zerg's guide to repairing a washed PokeWalker (for you out there with Heart Gold and Soul Silver!)

Ok, so the other day I noticed my Pokewalker was missing. Evidentally, it got caught in the washing machien. This was bound to happen eventually, since I don't tend to remember to clean out my pockets after work. Eventually I found it in my mother's custody, not working. I snagged it back and got to work. It took a few days, but I DID get it working again, with my pokemon (a random event Remoraid, ironically. It just decided to join me that day when there was no pokemon in there) still intact along with items. Yay.

So, here's how to repair it if your pokewalker gets washed or dropped in water.

1.) Even if it's not wet externally, there's probably water inside and the hardware is wet. Don't panic. Just wrap it in something, so the water can start getting pulled into the external cloth.

I used my pocket, and later found my pocket to be wet from it. Lol.

2.) It won't start working right away, since there will still be moisture inside. You don't need to unscrew the device though, to dry it. One thing you can do, and what I did, is blow a bit into the sound thing at the bottom of the pokewalker every now and then, then find a way to balance the walker on a side for a bit. I'm using a rather thick bracelet to do this, which works perfectly.
this will allow further water to at least move away from the internal hardware.
Keep in mind to rotate the walker so anything under the infared light thing can seep out.

3.)If you abuse a laptop like I tend to, and it gets hot somewhat frequently, just stick the walker under the laptop (provided it has a built in stand. If not, put something there so there's some room between the laptop and the walker.) so the heat of the laptop can pass into the walker for about a day or two. This will evaporate any leftover water molecules and dry the inside of the walker.

4.) After a few days, try holding down the center button of the walker to turn it on. Chances are, now it'll start up again and still be functional.

Been playing around...

I've been playing around with the old versions of TEF lately.

Don't be surprised if you see more DotD deer or candled deer running around.

The Deer Who Yearned To Be a Bird - Part Seven

Chapter Seven – Occupation

The crows, after about five minutes of flying and prodding, finally led our Turkey into yet another large clearing. This clearing was different than the previous one with the brook though. In the last one, there was immense shading due to the trees, which provided much comfort to the three. However, in this new clearing, there was no cover, just bright sunlight that made Turkey wince in pain.

“Are you coming or not?” the childish voice of Bartleby rang a bit farther out. Only a small glitter on the ground betrayed his location, which the crows knew to be his golden hooves sparkling in the sun. Turkey didn’t move though, he was far too busy examining the upward sky for birds to notice even his new Master’s voice.

Debit and Credit, feeling the discomfort of the beating sun on their backs and usually easily irked to begin with, each grabbed one of Turkey’s ears and dragged him to a small abandoned shed that sat in the middle of the clearing.

Bartleby had already fearlessly walked in when they got there, and the crows, too hot to really care, immediately flew in without bothering with Turkey. He wouldn’t have gone in anyway, the sight of the little run-down building made him paw the ground in fear. The smell of it was strange and irregular, as if it was trying to be several things at once… Smoke… leather… cologne… Of course Turkey didn’t know the names of these things, but even at his low intelligence, he knew that they meant danger by instinct.

On the other hand, his three friends had just walked in without a care. Did this mean it was safe? Turkey didn’t know… Very reluctantly, with his tail between his legs, he slowly walked in.

The shed was quite empty. It was really just a shell of a building, but to the animals, it was a shield from the hot sun. Turkey felt at ease almost immediately as a cool bit of air rushed at him.

There seemed to be a small earthquake approaching as I awoke...

[=white][i]I barely had time to stand up before I was overtaken by a violet blur, followed closely by a mass of much darker fur.

Do not think I failed to notice your amusement when Amary and I greeted each other with more than just bows, Darkweaver...
It is a good thing Cousin was not there as well. I would never hear the end of it. And I already hear enough!

It was not long before another flurry hoofbeats could be heard, this set much more sedate than my wake up call had been. Tally I believe, following closely behind a young stag with skeletal markings of gold in dark blue fur. There was something familiar about that one.
And it seemed this young one was doing everything in his power to get on Darkweaver's last nerve. That little red one who suddenly sat in the flower patch was rather confusing as well...copying the skeletal-marked one in moving about Dark's legs like a cat would.

An impromptu staring match began.
But my attention was soon diverted elsewhere, by a stag who came asking for antler spells. I obliged, but Amary took off towards something in the distance. Where, I could not tell.

Before I knew it, Amary was returning...along with a black and white stag I was not sure I had met before...

...and yet, still I could see the staring match of sorts continued. It seemed to have picked up a few followers as well, standing around but gazing upon no one in particular.

A few more deer I am sure I shall not remember, as a few had no name, passed through the area Amary, the fellow introduced as Steele, and I stood. That one soon said his farewells, quickly departing.
But not before being nuzzled by Amary before he disappeared completely.
Just what does that one mean to her?
And why am I so bothered?

Perhaps I shall find out soon, but at that moment we headed back to the contest of wills.
