Day 1:
Pool deck overlooking beach in the late evening. The breeze is really nice~




Day 2:
Ok i didn't take into account that with the sun I wouldn't be able to SEE what I was painting >n> Sooo i pretty much did this blind lol hence why the colors are kinda muddy. Maybe I'll clean it up later~

Also I super need to learn Krita's brushes better, most of this was spent trying to find a brush that felt good DX



Day 2.5:
I'm feeling kinda meh about today's paintings, I haven't been finding good compositions and my colors are off today :/
I'll try from a different spot tomorrow, maybe go sit on the beach and i can get a better view haha (I cheated on this one, I'm actually 5 stories up on a balcony lol)



Day 3:
Found a better spot to paint, got slightly burnt in the process DX
This whole week is supposed to be stormy, which is cool with me I absolutely love storms, and I get to make moody beach paintings, but it also means I have to cheat and get the basic idea down on the canvas and paint the rest later in the room haha
I'm technically not doing plein air painting correctly at ALL which defeats the purpose here but OH WELL. I live at a beach and there's tons of interesting things I can go paint when I want to try again |D



Day 4:
It's still Wednesday in California, I made it >n>
I'd found this neat drain trench thing on the beach when I went out to paint this evening, when it was all gray and stormy, but I looked up a few minutes later and the sky was a pretty orange and blue and there was a double friggin rainbow that quick. So I scrambled to paint it in before I got rained on lol



Day 5:
I had another spot I was painting originally but I lost my light that quick. I snapped a photo of my comp so I can go back tomorrow. After I was about to leave a cool older guy approached me and asked if I drew him and I said I'd painted something else I was just sitting sideways lol _{little does he know I had actually sketched him when I thought I'd paint that part of the beach earlier >D}
But tonight someone set some small fireworks off at the beach, it was very pretty~
Also apparently word's getting out that I've been painting on the beach and people ask me when they meet me now @^@




Day 6: This is my last full day here, and it was warm and sunny. I spent part of the afternoon looking for shark teeth (and I finally found one JEESUS) and playing around in the waves/pool. Then I got to go to dinner and have a few drinks, then I came back and painted and walked the beach at night. Which is now one of my favorite kinds of walks, next to the woods & fields in the evening.
The first painting I started yesterday, but the sun set too quick so I had to finish it today, the second one I did this evening when I went to sit on the beach, the sky was just too pretty.

We're stopping somewhere to stay the night tomorrow on our way home, so I may get one more painting there, but if not this'll be the last batch here.
