The sun had just begun to set, casting long shadows, and lighting the world with warm, dim light. A soft breeze rustled the leaves of well manicured trees in the park. In the shadow of an oak rested a young man. He was rather thin and he possessed skin close to the colour of alibaster. It was easy to see he was rather tall, but his face was obscured by chin length lavender grey hair, which was streaked with acid green. He wore a rather ragged gray hoodie and a pair of faded denim jeans. On his feet were a pair of well worn Nikes. He didn't seem to out of place, though he seemed to be napping, and from he twitches here and there, it would be seen that he may be having a nightmare...

The man's head hung down for a moment as his dream seemed to let up for a moment. Suddenly, his head violently slammed back into the tree behind him. This produces a rather loud crack, and his eyelids rose as he lifted his head, so that he may rub the now very sore lump that was forming on the back of his skull. He ran a hand through his hair, starting at the forehead, to move the locks out of his eyes. The upper left half of his face was covered by bandaging, with a faded rusty red spot where the left eye would have been. The right eye was a lovely shade of lilac, and a spiderweb like pattern formed from it, reaching down, slightly past his nose. His mouth was the most noticable, however. Threaded through his lips was a gleaming metal wire, preventing him from opening his lips, unless he wished to be in a great deal of pain. He blinked and saw the young lady that was not too far off. He waved at her slightly, a small gesture that suggested he might be rather shy.

He nodded, and pushed himself slowly to his feet, using his hand. Swaying for a moment as he experienced vertigo, he managed to right himself. He then gave the woman a thumbs-up. He then flourished his hand in a bow, and as he stood up he picked up a stick. Pointing to himself he wrote, “I am Mortuusago.” He then offered his hand to her, smiling, though it was somewhat comical. Since he couldn’t open his mouth, his lips were stretched in a large smile, but his mouth was closed.

Mortuus blinked and smiled impishly. He put a finger to his lips, and glanced from side to side, needlessly. He then leaned so that his mouth was right beside her ear. “It’s magic,” he whispered. While he was usually mute, he would let people know what he used to sound like every once in a while. He possessed a pleasant and deep voice; one could be both reassuring and alluring. But whispering and disuse had taken some of its former glory. Hand held out to her, he beckoned with his finger to come with him then. He smiled innocently; seeming very eccentric, as it appeared everything may be a whim.

He smiled and grabbed her hand gently, to pull her along behind him. It was painful for him to speak, and with his opposite arm, he brushed off the smallest bit of blood. Still, verbal communication was something he attempted. He longed for his voice, and to him, it was a forbidden pleasure. Getting to speak was worth the pain, depending on the situation. Never long words, just short phrases. He then stopped, in the midst of living curtain, made from the tendrils of willows. He let go of her hand then and moved to peek out from behind. When he turned back, he looked pleased, and so he beckoned her to move forward, as he slipped into the curtain himself, not coming back through this time. After a few seconds, the was a splash, followed by sprite-like laughter.

Mort sat sprawled in a pond. He was frowning at a pixie-like child. Or, it appeared to be a child that is. It had little black stubs on its head, and its legs appeared backwards. Mort splashed at it, and it darted off, still seeming endlessly amused. Thoroughly soaked, he stood, water running from his hair and of his face in streams. He shook himself, shrugging apologetically at Cirrus. He moved to the edge, and held his hand out to her. The moon was now visible on the surface of the water as the sun had disappeared over the trees a little bit ago.
