Ephra allowed her tears to fall to the wet earth...
Above her, the clouds parted...
Then suns rays fell to the earth, warming everything with it.
Every drooping plant, heavy with rain turned upward with new hope. They would not be drowned with rain, and the sun was their life.
A wind caught the trees above them.
Virgil tended to his wounds, and Ephra felt the sun on her wet face once more.
In the distance, where sunrays fell, the little fawn's grave lingered.
"Poppies." Ephra said quietly, as if almost to herself.
Virgil turned and looked as to where Ephra was so amazed.
There.
On the grave.
Poppies, as read a blood, yet as cheerful as life itself.
They walked to the grave together, and could feel in the air,
the fawn had only wanted them to be at peace for themselves.
It didn't wish to walk the sorrowful earth.
It had a message.
To live and let live...
No more had to die.
And for an instant, Ephra could hear small hoofbeats cheerfully running past them.
"Come on Ephra." Virgil said after a moment, a tear falling from his own eye upon the soft dirt of the grave. "Lets go." Both left with a solemn bow to the grave. And they left.
She knew, the fawn would be ok.
And so would she.

Ze END!
Or is it....??
God I'm such a sucker for happy endings.
AND FOR THIS COMPOSER!!
Beautiful ending! :') I was thinking something along those lines too, with the flowers on the grave. Ahh, I've been spending so much time just waiting to see what people are writing about this that I've hardly got any of my drawings finished! But I'm gonna have something up today.
I'm so glad you liked it!!
It was such a magical event.
Oh wow, you thought poppies too?! Awesome!
And take your time on the drawings! No rush. This is going to be sooo cooooolll! -shivers with excitement-
Thank you Yorres. And that was very clever with the dove today, I think it helped the fawn to know someone was there...
Btw, I couldn't see your picto, so a few times I thought it was an ordianry bird... lol
<3 Glad you liked it.
I can't wait to hear how the turnout with Walter and you and Baal goes!!! Eeeee!!
Pssht, trust me, he'll need your help. Lul.
And you said something about Yorres being a "soggy bird" before this was over... What does that mean? Lol, forgive my ignorance. I didn't want to leave it for assuming something that may not be right.
Well. He could've been crying because his wounds hurt so bad!! DI
LOL!
Just a little bit of sentiment to bring it to a close. It's funny. I could see it playing out as a movie as we all experinced it. I tried to bring the feeling to writing....
Anyway, Virgil it was nice meeting you, like really meeting you! LOL!
That was awesome.
Oh - he's transformed himself into a dove for the duration of the search. He can cover ground much faster and has a "bird's eye view" of the Forest. He's been spending far more time out in the rain than usual. He know's lots of good spots to get away from the weather, and generally would, but not until this is over.
Yorres:
That's what I thought. I saw him but didn't want to bug him. I'll be back on in a few.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH wait now I get itttt! -blond-
This is going to be so amazing...
D'aww... Yes, I agree. Happy
Dear god you read fast...
