Name: Wyvern
Meaning: A wyvern is a winged reptilian creature often found in medieval heraldry and normally depicted as a dragon with two legs and two wings. The word wyvern is derived from the Anglo-Saxon word for serpent
Gender: Doe
Age: Adult
Pictogram: X
How to remember it: I suppose it resembles a perched wyvern, with its neck arched and its wings folded at its sides
Family: Corvus (nephew, adopted),
Fulu (sister-in-law),
Kailani (niece, deceased),
Leara (niece, adopted), Selkie (mother), Wasgo (father), Zilant (younger brother)
Mate: Fledermaus. There is no other stag that she would rather spend the rest of her life with. Wyvern holds him close to her heart and cherishes their relationship.
Official Color: #FFFFFF
Personality:
Wyvern is a softspoken doe, whose personality is a product of her upbringing and early encounters in life. Like most fawns, she was born to a stag and a doe. However, her father Wasgo wanted a son to carry on his family’s name. Disappointed in his firstborn child’s gender, he often let his daughter learn life’s lessons the hard way and rarely interacted with her in the way a father should. It was her mother Selkie that raised her, teaching her manners and the ways of the forest. The two grew close over time, but Selkie remained loyal to her mate, eventually carrying the son that he wanted all along.
Playful and defiant in her youth, Wyvern one day saw her father challenging a younger stag in what she perceived to be an unfair fight. Having no antlers or courage of her own, she simply bolted forward in an attempt to distract Wasgo and deter the two from fighting. She caught his attention, but the younger stag’s antlers also caught Wasgo off guard, knocking him to the ground. He regained his footing and eventually sent his opponent running, but Wasgo could no longer stand the sight of his daughter. He chased her away from her mother and the life she once knew. Fearful of her father’s rage, Wyvern ran as fast as her small hooves could carry her, only to eventually stumble and fall into the river, nearly drowning in the process. She has since then come to respect large bodies of water.
Wyvern woke up in the shallows of the pond, without her family but never alone. She was raised by many of the forest’s deer, including the doe known as
Ephra. As the years passed, she grew into her black and white pelt and became more comfortable with herself. However, she would never fully come out of her shell, her confidence hidden within a kind heart and the company of her friends.
This doe is not an antisocial personality, but rather a cautious and quiet individual, who puts great faith in her friends and what remains of her family. She is polite in her mannerisms, always greeting and leaving others with a bow, and tries her best to make sure that everyone feels welcome. She sometimes has a difficult time letting go of past mistakes, but she more often than not decides to let go and have fun, running about the forest and dancing with friends.
Appearance:
As if to contradict her vibrant personality, Wyvern has a fairly monotone appearance, the markings on her pelt being similar to those of an orca. Particularly prominent is the white saddle patch on her back, which is flecked by a single circle on each side. She has a rather soft complexion and the blue eyes of her parents, which peer out curiously from behind her orca mask. While her fur is short and smooth, it is somewhat longer about her heels and on top of her head. Wyvern’s hair is black and resembles that of a pixie cut, gently falling over her mask and parted by her small, curved antlers.
Wyvern is of an average size for a doe, perhaps only a bit taller than her mother. She has a slender frame, and her legs are thin, yet strongly built. She carries herself well most of the time, observing the forest with admiration and the outlook of a deer, who has seen many things.
Likes:
+ Some of the forest’s smaller inhabitants, particularly koi and butterflies
+ Rain; she will often take off her mask in such weather
+ Dancing
Dislikes:
- Being alone for long periods of time
- Fog, or at least the howling of wolves
- Large antlers and some aspects of the Halloween sets, unless they belong to deer that she’s familiar with
Location:
Wyvern is a fairly predictable doe and may often be found resting in sunlit flowerbeds or against the trunks of trees. While she particularly likes the playground and the view of the forest that it offers, she will gladly join her friends wherever they may go.
