I wanted this to have art and such. but it's going to be a bit long for that..sorry plus my drawing is not at it's best right now. So if you hate my writing... now would be a good time to stop reading ;;.
The reason for doing this. Other than it was (I thought) an interesting story, was to make myself write. I feel bad for not writing as much for Night Shade as I used to. So this story of sorts is to help give a better understanding of her personality and relationships with others. For those who do not know her at all take a look
and you will see why being called fat upsets her so much X)

Part one

Limitations limitations she was so sick of them.

You’re too small

You have no antlers

You should just run

She was so sick of it

Had she not proven herself enough already?

Would she never be respected?

Soon it seemed she would have to look up to even her own son.

Who was reaching her height already at such a young age.

She was glad he didn’t take after her. He would grow up to be big and strong.

He would never have to worry about looking up to anyone or anyone looking down on him.

Such a bitter mood she was in.

True. She had no impressive head of antlers in which to protect herself.

Unlike her mate she wasn’t a demon

She had no powers, other than ones gained from the forest.

Night Shade was a deer nothing more, nothing less.

But she did have her pride.

Her will

Her joy of the fight.

The fight…

She loved to fight

The rush, the challenge she lived for it.

During her pregnancy she had to give it up for the sake of her fawn.

Oh how she missed it.

Suddenly she picked up the scent of someone.

Someone she remembered she hated

Someone she wanted revenge on, and they were sleeping

Quickly she gathered an animal spell.

This stupid meat eating habit she picked up early into her pregnancy still plagued her

She wished she could stop.

It had been weeks since she tasted blood.

She thought she had kicked it.

Apparently not.

Quickly and quietly she approached the one known to her as Jack.

She tried to spell him. it failed.

He couldn’t be changed.

Curious about this fact, she slowly approached for a better look

She sniffed him

A disgusted look crossed her face.

His smell it was strange..

She wondered how asleep he really was, and began to poke at his side with her hoof.

No movement

Was he dead already?

The small doe leaned in closer listening for even just one subtle breath.

“BOO!”

Yelled the strange deer jumping up and falling onto his face giggling like a mad man..

A mad man..indeed

“he he ouch.”

She was not amused by this little show.

“Damn you go back to sleep.”

Her thinking process had been rudely disrupted.

She knew now she would make no meal of this one.

She could never actually eat another deer as they were.

She did have morals

Her victims were always old and sick..no family, and she Always changed those poor souls before she ate them.

But this act was only a last resort. If no game was already available.

It was simply survival back then

This was the first time she considered doing it as an act of revenge.

"Ahaha hmm why should I hm?"

" It would make my job easier."

"Hmm tell me more about your job.. sound.. exiting.. yey ey"

“I wanted revenge..”

"hmm revenge.. revenge... such a sweet tasting word~"

" IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY SWEET TASTING."

Something about this deer awoke a rage in her she had never felt before.

Every time their paths would cross she would find herself close to boiling point.

"I can wait. you will sleep again soon."

It would be a game of intimidation now. She wouldn’t eat him, but she wanted him to think she would if given half a chance.

"Ahh yes most likely.. .. I really feel much better than the last days, yes, yes... maybe your chance is already gone, little fat cow? hehe"

"I am not fat! now I’m sure i will kill you."

There it was .This is why she hated him. He always tried to pick her apart with his words.

She knew she was by no means fat. In fact she was underweight, but his cruel tongue cut her still.

Her pride was getting hurt.

No one spoke to her like that.



"Hmm I heard killing is punished hard here in this place..

"Nothing wrong with killing for food." " and I was NEVER fat you jerk .”


"Oh really?.. must have missed that point somehow..."

"Seee not fat AT ALL."

She stood on her hind legs to prove her point, though she had no clue why she felt she had to prove anything to this rude deer.

He was starting to get to her.


"Hmm.."
"One second..."
"......."
"I need a closer look.."

"Not too close.”

He approached her smirking.
She would back away this time, give him a chance to stop the foolishness.


"closerrr~"

That was enough.

He had now earned his warning shot.

The doe grabbed onto his neck and bit down quickly pulling away.

He would only get this one warning

The next time she would fight.


"Back off."

"ouch ! hehehe! A little wild are we, yes? hehe "

Part 2

A mistake A case of bad wording .

"Touch me again and you will find out how wild I can be!"

She was mad. It didn’t matter.
It was just the first thing that popped into her head.
What a stupid thing to say.

""Ah well I will keep this offer in memory, hehe "

" I have nothing I wish to give you."


" "Hmm but maybe I’ll take it anyways? He he... but ah not today...little one..."

" I'm not sure I want to know what it is you wish to take.. I have nothing..... I should stop talking so you will sleep "

She knew what he wanted.
She wasn’t stupid.
In shock maybe
But the doe knew very well what he had on his mind and that wasn’t going to happen.
He was smiling at her.

""What happens if you fall asleep first...mh?"

"I won’t."

Her eyes narrowed.
She was growing restless with all the waiting.
Nervous and increasingly irritated.

This was nothing more than a game.
A test of wits.
Who would break first was the question.

""Hey.. know what’s the funny thing is? Where I come from critters like you are some delicious meal, hehe .. oh wait... guess I would be some delicious meal as well now... how.. ironic.. ehehe"

"What’s funnier is I’m not even supposed to be eating meat at all...it's a bad habit I just can’t seem to kick."

She would make him wonder.

""Aaah~ bad habits.. hehe you should really learn to enjoy them, cow, trust me.. you will feel sooo~ much better then.. so... free... he he.. oh yes, yes"

"What would make you sleep?"

""I think hmm I think you have to knock me over to make me fall asleep again...yes? I slept so much the last days.. haven't slept that much in years now, heh. funny, funny..."

It wasn’t a bad idea. She was mad enough to do so, but would she really sink to his level?
No it was best to keep herself together for now.

""Dare you...?"

"I don't want to get close to you."

""Ohh~ why not...? Are you afraid you could like it.. yes?"

"NO..it's just best that i do not."

She was beginning to shiver
But not from fear alone.
It was rage.
The time passed slowly.
Ever so slowly.
She grew bored and it seemed she forgot about Jack all together
and fell into sleep.
Something was nibbling on her ear.
She flicked her ear and all at once it stopped.
then continued on her neck.

""Wake up my love...~"

She didn’t care she was to tired.
Asaroth would defiantly get a scolding He knew not to bother her when she slept.
But maybe this was not him.
It didn’t seem like..

""GET UP YOU FAT COW!"

Furious she jumped from her slumber and grabbed onto the throat of Jack.
She should have known it was him.
Stupid she was so stupid.
How could she have fallen asleep?

" BACK OFF."

""Maybe you bite a little harder...~ maybe you taste some blood then. hehe"

She grabbed on and shook her head biting down even harder.
He was enjoying it!

""yeees that's it.. come on.. one more time~"

She wanted to run.
But at the same time She wanted him dead.
He had succeeded in confusing her greatly...
and this only made her more violent.

""oh the hard way, yes..? heheh "

"Hard way for what?"

So this was true anger
Raw anger

" "the hard way for proving..

That was enough
A limit had been reached
She would have no more of this

"I said to back off."
One last warning

" "I wont... ever.. back.. off.."
That was it
She snapped
He had done it
He made her lose control

"Neither will I."

""well.. then... you ... need to kill me... fat cow..."

She would try
The doe flung herself at him with all she had biting and kicking
It should have been an equal enough fight
Sure he was bigger but like she, he had no antlers.
But wait
No
No
He did now, somehow he did?
How she did not know but he had grown antlers
Antlers..the odds were defiantly against her now
But she wouldn’t run from this fight
Antlers didn’t scare her
She had practiced fighting many who had them, and found that she could easily dodge them due to her small size and swift feet.
But such Luck could only last so long.
She would earn the occasional scratch here and there but it seemed she would suffer nothing serious
He wasn’t fast enough
Was he?


"Ouch!"

To let ones guard down was foolish. She had been struck this time with a lethal blow.
She couldn’t shake this one off
His antlers had found their way to her ribs. A hole appeared there now
Her breath was coming in short rasps.
How bad was it?
She was swaying now and could only hope his tines hadn’t found her lungs.


""oh did.... it... hurt... yes"

He was stumbling around
He was hurt too

"Please leave me alone.."

The grass was being painted red.
She shivered all over .
The forest floor was spinning faster and faster.


" "I... won't... he hehhe... you... can't... hehe "

He fell
She had caused him damage, how much she didn’t know and really didn’t care
At least now she knew if she died
He wouldn’t forget that she had hurt him.

" "lucky... lucky..."

It hurt so bad. Her side ached, body trembled. It was like freezing and burning at the same time, until she could no longer tell what she felt.

"This could have been avoided..You should have just gone to sleep."
She would have let him be. This wouldn’t have happened

" "where.. is ... the difference.. he? I ... hehe.... I suffer in my dreams... he hehe.. or I suffer here...
"you.. hehe you just need to learn... how... how to enjoy... hehehe how to enjoy this.. sweet, sweet pain, my love... yes... yes..."


"I take no joy in hurting others.."

She fell to the ground. The spinning stopped. He was smiling again

""Didn’t... didn’t you want... to eat me.. yes..?"

“ I just wanted..To intimidate you..."

The little doe felt faint. It was getting dark.
So dark..
She could hear him getting close again. This time she could do nothing.
Her body would not move.


""Hmm ... intimidating.. yes? hehhe.... Oh stupid, stupid cow... that.. that is my job, you are not built for that... hehe..."

He kissed her

How dare he kiss her!
She heard a soft thump
It seemed he had blacked out
She was safe from him for now.
The doe made one small sound
A whimper
And darkness followed
