The doe sits alone this night near the Playground. It is a comfortable place for her, and she can easily sense the stars above.
Her ears perk. She hears your deer coming. The doe smiles, and speaking out she says the following words:
"I know what you are here for. I can give you a hint at your future. You may like what you hear, you may regret ever coming to see me. But what you do with the words I share with you is your decision alone.
So, shall I read the stars for you?"
-------------------------------------------
Hex always had the gift of foresight. She made predictions of
Iugulare's coming to the Endless Forest, and also of
the final fight between light and dark. Her prophecies are rarely false, but they can be.
So now your deer has the opportunity to be given a prediction of their future. It may come true, it may simply need to be interpreted, or it may just be words that mean nothing to your deer. That is your choice.
How it works ~
- Write your deer's approach to Hex, answering her question.
- I will draw a tarot card and use the interpretation of that to create your deer's unique fortune.
(optional - if you'd like to know what card I drew, please make sure to ask. Otherwise, I won't include that in the response)
- You can choose to have your deer react or not, that's your choice.
- From there, you can use the fortune for your deer's story, or just leave it as nothing more than words.
A few rules ~
- TEF characters only for this, please. They can be good or evil (Hex is blind so she will not know the difference, but she lived for countless years within Iugulare's body so she no longer fears the dark or evil characters.)
- If you want tarot readings for yourself,
please ask Zyzzy, who knows more about interpreting the cards than I do. I'm simply doing the readings to write fun predictions for your deer. I don't know how to do proper tarot readings.
- You can request as many of your characters as you'd like, so either do their 'approach' individually or you can have them come as a small group.
- Please don't take any of this seriously. It's just supposed to be for fun.
With that, who would like their deer's fortune?
Totally tracking this~ X3
Track for now until I come up

The young stag slowly
Anjali senses that she cannot see, so he tries to make each step deliberate and clear--as not to startle her by coming closer.
She knows what I am here for? What does that mean? And to read the stars...
He lays down gently, opposite the doe.
"Please." he says. "I would be honored if you did."
Anjali - Hex nods her head,
Hex nods her head, then raising it, she stares up to the sky. Her eyes are a pale yellow color, milky and fogged over, yet the light from above can be seen clearly to her. And then she speaks:
"You have been dealing with a personal problem as of late. There has been something holding you back from your dreams and goals. You may deny this, but there is something that you've felt very negative about lately, either with yourself or with a situation.
However, in the next few days, you will take charge of the situation, and after the difficulty you have been facing, your hard work will pay off."
She smiles at Anjali, and finishes, "Keep your head high. The next few days will be difficult, but you'll have achieved what you desire soon."
Fae watches Hex from a
Fae builds up her courage and slowly approaches the blind doe, making more noise than she intended. Darn these sticks and rocks, she thinks.
Hex asks her the question. Fae thinks a moment and her curiosity gets the better of her. "Yes, Hex. Please read the stars for me."
Fae waits in anticipation of what she might hear.
The stag listens attentively.
Anjali rises from cool, mossy stones of the Playground. "Thank you, Hex. I will; I'll hold my head high."
He bows to the doe, even though he knows she won't see it. His hooves ring slightly on the rocks, the scent of poppies trembles on the air, and then--he is gone.
(Thank you, Quad! ^^)
Ickydog - Hex's eyes meet
Hex's eyes meet the stars for a moment, then she lowers her head, looking in Fae's direction. This is what she says:
"Tomorrow you will do something you've always wanted. You'll complete a task you have been working toward for quite some time. It will feel like a great achievement. Perhaps many other deer will praise you for this, or perhaps you'll bask in your accomplishment alone. That part is unclear, as that rests on you.
However, don't rest on this victory for too long. Begin something new as soon as you can. You've got much more to accomplish, and even more to be proud of yourself for."
(Anjali, thank you for being my first 'victim'. I'm having a lot of fun with this already, as I don't even know what to expect her to say myself )
Fae lowers her body in a bow.
Fae gives Hex a brief nuzzle and walks off slowly, thinking about what she has heard.
[Heeeere comes a long post!
A small brown doe leaped up the playground rocks. She seemed nervous, approaching the sitting deer with caution, ears perked forward. Blue eyes glanced over the figure and she shuffled nervously, causing a few rocks to skitter down the side and off. Her black feathers were fluffed up slightly against the cold, head down.
Am I really going to do this...? she thought quietly, hearing the other's words. With a long, drawn out sigh and a glance behind her, she trotted quickly to Hex's side.
"My name's Amadahy...Ama. Call me what you want. I don't know yours but...you know what I came for. Anyway...Please tell me the future."
The brown doe settled next to Hex, gazing into her blind eyes. They were lovely, in a way, but she was nervous about what her future would hold.
Amadahy almost knew it would be bad.
Long after the brown doe had received her message and left, a taller golden stag came walking up slowly, clearly more composed. He looked young, having only two blue tines upon his head. Perched on his face was a small black mask, obscuring his features save for his piercing blue eyes.
They would look familiar if the viewer knew Amadahy, for Keme was her brother.
The stag paused, hearing the doe atop the rock's words. Indeed, he'd come out of curiosity. Anything of this sort attracted him.
"You are correct, miss. I have come for my fortune." He spoke quietly, with strange formality for his age. Searching for the best way up, Keme climbed the rocks to where the blue doe sat.
"I brought some mint. It is a favorite around here; perhaps you will enjoy it," he murmured. Keme didn't know why he brought it. Perhaps he had had a moment of pity for her. Perhaps he simply wanted to give her something in exchange, not wanting to owe anything to anyone. Either way, he dropped it at her hooves, sitting a few feet away.
"So tell me, miss. What does the future hold for a young stag?" A hint of a smile edged his voice.
When Keme too had gone, a small black shape shifted in the shadows. She, too, was the color of pitch, with four small white stripes on her back. Small blue dots caught the bright moonlight as her fur ruffled, moving from shade of tree far away.
An odd smile was painted across her face, wide and reaching almost to the doe's forehead. Black, sharp antlers jutted from her head, glinting faintly in the moonlight. Inola ran across the open plain, leaping onto the rock and hardly hearing the other's words.
"Hello, lady. You're very pretty. I like your eyes." The compliment was sincere, though made a bit odd by a sudden nuzzle from the little child.
"My name is Inola, but maybe you know already. You smell like my sister, so maybe she said that I would be coming...Maybe not." Inola settled in rather close to the blue doe, leaning against her.
"Can you tell me if I'll find my sister? Maybe you know...Since you do fortunes, you might know something else like that..." The glint of hope in Inola's eyes was unmistakable as she blinked at the larger deer.
High above in a tree, a semi-large crow watched until the girl left, mulling over Hex's answer. With a small caw, he swooped down from the tree, landing before the doe.
"Is say hello, Star Gazer." Not aware that she was blind or perhaps too polite to act otherwise, the crow gave her an elegant little bow.
"Is a very wise doe, is been watching, this one...Is have question, is hear what this one is say..." Suddenly, the crow was as awkward as the brown doe had been earlier, shuffling his tiny talons on the stone.
"Is tell this one his future, yes. Is...worry." The crow hopped forward towards the doe, tilting his head. It was unlikely she knew what he truly was, but would the stars tell her that?
Much further into the night, a flicker of light passed by the area once, moving fast. It seemed to create its own light, glowing very softly. When it passed by once more, it paused.
The glow assembled into a deer, wavering in the moonlight. He tilted his head, coming closer.
Wax dripped from his antlers, mist swirling silently about his body. In fact, everything about the spirit was silent. No noise came from him, even as he stepped.
He seemed to hear the doe, ears popping up from the mist. Continuing his silent walk, he reached the stones in front of the doe. Lantern did not jump; his body flowed up the stones, arranging itself before the small figure. With a pause, he began to speak. The words began with a soft hissing noise, while one soft voice climbed above the others. He spoke as if reciting; the words were clearly not his own.
"Fortune teller tell me-
With your wisdom plain and clear,
What is my purpose?
And why am I here?
What do the stars hold?
Please dispel my fears!
Do you see in those cards
Something ill-boding or well?
What do the stars say?
Can you even tell?
What path will I walk-
To Heaven or Hell?"
Lantern seemed to be waiting, head canted to the side, silently observing the doe as the mist swirled about his body, obscuring his black eyes.
He had time.
The ghost had left reluctantly after his answer, clearly wanting company but sensing something. As he had run away, his body had begun to morph, but he was as far away as he could get before he fully turned, no threat to the doe.
Following in the path the ghost had made came an ancient stag, red pelt dark in the night. The moon glinted only off his wide, branching antlers, high above his head and twining in and out of themselves. He walked slowly, like an ancient man, gray eyes fixed on some target far into the distance.
Not a single deer could say he wasn't determined.
The Priest had been walking slowly past the rock when he heard the doe's voice from the rock. His ears turned backwards and he paused. Normally, he would pay no attention to a doe...Yet something about her promise intrigued him. He turned his face to her, gray eyes studying her features.
She was blind. Hm. Well, perhaps that would be acceptable.
The Priest spoke with learned authority, as if he had been taught that he was better than most of the deer in this place, yet there was a quiet sadness about him, as if he had missed something very important.
"Alright then, doe. You shall tell me my fortune," he said, nodding.
The red stag had left in silence, considering his fortune. He had given her a nod of thanks, perhaps uncaring if she could see it or not. His white antlers had glowed softly in the light as he disappeared in the direction of the Twin Gods, perhaps setting off to pray. As he had passed, a small antlered doe had skittered from the shadows, hiding behind a new tree. Her position was betrayed by a coughing fit soon after.
With hesitation, she approached the rocks, constantly looking behind her and around her. Surely somebody would see her and chase her away, maybe even the doe herself...
The Fawn's eyes darted to the lone figure as she attempted to walk slightly faster. Behind the noh mask, her eyes were a dark brown, matching her pelt that was speckled with small, white dots. Oddly for a doe, flowered purple antlers rose above her head. Her face was turned towards the ground, as if she was ashamed. With a wince, she managed to scramble up the rocks.
"Hello...I-I...was wondering if I could...have my fortune told. Like you offered. I saw you doing it for others... I-I...want to know if things will get better..." she mumbled, glancing around once more. She would not sit, but remained standing a few feet from the doe.
Ocean - ((Ooh what a
((Ooh what a challenge! I'll do what I can haha, here it goes ))
(Amadahy)
The doe smiled, "Please, call me Hex. You may know of my brother, Quad. Our names are related by the order we were born. And for you...", she read the stars for a moment, and then spoke, "You have been on a long journey, one you probably don't even realize you have traveled on. Maybe there is something that has been on your mind for a while. Maybe there is a question you have had for a long time, but simply have not found the right person to ask.
The day will come very soon where you will learn the answer. And that day, your mind will be at ease, and you will be one step closer to understanding that which you do not understand."
(Keme)
Hex tilted her head for the moment. "Mint? I am not familiar with this.", she spoke. When Keme dropped the herb close to her, she bent down, cautiously sniffing the strange plant, and then tasting it. It would be the first time she had ever tasted such a wonderful flavor, and as she enjoyed it, she looked to the sky and read Keme's fortune.
"There have been problems arising in your life. You know of what I speak, as you've felt burden from each of these. They are small problems that can be easily taken care of, but collectively they are haunting you.
But don't let these problems weaken you. Stop, take a moment to breathe, and then fix each of these one by one. You will get out of this dilemma over time, and be able to enjoy brighter and more fulfilling days.
And thank you for this 'mint'. It was quite lovely."
(Inola)
Hex was slightly phased at the child's immediate actions, but she smiled nonetheless and said, "Thank you. I wish I could see my eyes myself, I've been told they are beautiful."
Inola's more physical touch was actually quite comforting to Hex. She was glad to not only listen but feel the child's presence, it made her senses work much stronger. She listened to Inola's request and then read the stars:
"While I do not see the actual outcome of what you are searching for, I do see something else, maybe this will help you just as well. I see two paths for you, in one path you wait for your sister to return to you, and in that path there is nothing more to see other than one lonely child. In the other path, you have gained the courage to ask around the Forest. You take the initiative to look for your sister, you find out anything you know, and ultimately...", Hex smiles slightly here, "I see a reunion."
"Which path you choose is unclear, as the first is easier but without that you seek. And the second path I see many things in your path - vines, thorns, jagged rocks...but these are simply obstacles to cross, and once you have passed the hardships, then perhaps you will find your sister."
(The Crow)
Hex tilted her head slightly. There was something different about this one than the others who had visited her. She thought the crow's speech pattern was a little difficult to decipher, but she already knew that he, too, wished for a fortune. She raised her head to the stars and saw something for him:
"My friend, from what the stars have told me, you have very little to worry about. You have a life of fulfillment, and now is the time to rest and dream about what you would like to do from here. Perhaps you have finished something or completed a journey. Whatever it was, you will leave here with a feeling of deep accomplishment. When you sleep tonight, pay attention to your dream. It will guide you on the beginnings of a new journey to fulfill."
(Lantern)
Hex was deeply moved by the words of this newcomer. She found his voice to be strangely soothing, despite being more strange and different than many of the others who had come before.
"I will try to see what you wish for.", she spoke, and raising her eyes, she saw something for him.
"I see two possibly futures for you. Indeed, one is that of structure, order, foundation...leading to what you may call 'heaven'. The other resides with crumbling, unevenness, possibly even madness, and would lead possibly to 'hell'. Although the decision is ultimately yours, I see a faint glimmer of hope for you rather than that of suffering. Do not give into temptation, but rather keep to the virtues you follow. Observe all that is going on around you, do not let the chaos of the world become your chaos too. Instead, work to bring balance to our world, and surely your life will be more heavenly."
(The Priest (the card I drew for him was quite interesting for his character, hehe...))
Hex studied the stars for a brief moment, then her yellow-tinted eyes fell down to where he stood. The fortune for him was surprising, even she didn't know how to really tell this to him.
"I can tell by your voice that you prefer to be commanding, that you are a naturally born leader and strong willed. I see that you are a difficult one to break tonight, but tomorrow, things will be very much different. I will not tell you what the morning will bring, but when you are faced with a difficult choice tomorrow morning, you will cry.
Do not see this as a sign of weakness or failure. See it much more as a lesson to be learned. We all attempt to keep the appearance that we are unbreakable, but even the strongest of stags have something that will touch their hearts so deeply that they cannot resist the overwhelming sadness. No, see this as progress. You will overcome, and ultimately, you will be a much better person in the eyes of others after the morning."
(The Fawn)
"Before I speak your fortune, please, look into my eyes.", Hex spoke to The Fawn. Her fogged eyes could not see the speaker, but with sincere words, she spoke, "Regardless of your fortune, never forget that things always get better over time. We often just go through hardships along the way."
She raised her head to read the stars, and then spoke, "Very soon you will make a decision that will affect the lives of many others, in a very good way I will say. You will inspire many around you to act in your example, and in doing so, you will find many benefits - new friendships, greater bonds with those you know now, a sense of security and protection from those all around you. It will be a beautiful morning, the end of your fears and the beginnings of a new, brighter outlook on life itself.
And always remember that you are you and nobody else. Be proud of who you are, for soon your personality will sway the lives of perhaps the entire Forest."
[[Holy smokes. Thank you,

The grey stag wandered the forest, admiring the colors of the sky and how they changed the whole atmosphere of the forest, casting shadows and deepening colors, creating a breathtaking scene. Of the worlds he's seen and travelled, he enjoys this one the most for its simplest features, which turn out to be its most astonishing. The Playground was a wonderful place to view a sunset, and so he set out for the rocks. When he arrived, however, he saw he wasn't alone. Nearby sat a star-studded doe, her pelt the colors and beauty of the night sky, with the most unusual floral antlers... her very appearance drew him to her.
Coming closer, he sensed many things about her... she had lived a very dark life until recently... held captive by an evil force whose presence was known in the forest. She was blind as a result, evident by her milky eyes... but she still had sight, of a sort- she was a prophet! How brilliant that a doe who can't see the physical could see all beyond it... she was frail, but strong in her mind and her heart, and a wary but kind soul despite her suffering. Convinced she couldn't tell he was there, stupidly, he stood before her picking up her senses until she shocked him, speaking.
"I know what you are here for. I can give you a hint at your future. You may like what you hear, you may regret ever coming to see me... but what you do with the words I share is your decision alone. So... shall I read the stars for you?"
Zyzzy stood struck. His future? Did he really want to know? It was usually best he not know what was to come in his life... it was usually very exciting, but also devastatingly changing. Should he brave it? He had always been the one who could see the pasts of others, and thus gain glimpses of their futures... and he always knew it was a mistake to reveal it. Did he really want this doe, with a much stronger sense of the future than his, to tell him what was to come? Maybe if he just started out simple...
"Okay... tell me what you can see. Whatever is there. I do have a question though... am I meant to be here? Am I doing any good being in this forest? Or would it be better to carry myself elswhere once again?"
Nervously, he awaited her response.
A time he had found Hex
Zyzzy - Hex's eyes caught
Hex's eyes caught the starlight, and after a moment, she spoke some words for the stag:
"You ask whether you belong in this Forest, if this is the true place of rest for you. You have tried many other places, searching for something you desire, yet you don't even know what that is you seek.
But to answer your question, there is something you are meant for in this Forest. Or shall I say...someone?" Hex smiled slightly here. "In the coming months you will be put to one more test. A doe will enter into your life. You have already met her, though you two simply do not know it yet. The choices you make with this doe will ultimately determine whether you have a reason to be in this Forest, or whether there are other things to search for elsewhere. If you have been searching for something to give you glory, then you do not belong here. But if you have been searching for something to make your life more fulfilling...well...she is looking for the same thing too."
Vee -
Hex waited for a response from the other deer, and then she slowly nodded her head. "The strong, silent type, I see. You would have walked away if you didn't want to hear what I have to tell you. So, then...", she raised her head and studied the stars for Virgil.
"You have searched for many years to be a distinguished stag. You offer strength when needed, you set examples to be followed, and you certainly have won your way through victory after victory. The scars on your face prove that...", Hex hesitated here, listening for Virgil's reaction. She obviously could not see the other deer, but she could sense small details such as his scars. "A grand opportunity has arisen for you. The time has come for you to become the distinguished leader you've always wanted to be. The throne is there just for you, all you have to do is take it. Can you lead this Forest from darkness? Can you defend your deer from suffering? Would you give everything you have to free them, even your own life?"
"The weight of this land rests on your shoulders. Whether you can carry your people out of danger, or whether they perish, is your burden alone. You will be the one to choose for them."
The Red looked down as though
"Thank you, mi'lady." A bow, and then he departed.
(And here's the first one...
Ryou had been sitting and watching the doe for a while, observing silently as other deer approached and left her. Finally, he looked around and saw that no one else was in sight. He stood and slowly approached her, his curiosity having triumphed over his hesitation.
As she spoke, the buck paused, looking around again to make sure they were alone before lowering himself to the ground in front of her.
"Yes please. I want to know."

Hex gave a slight nod, and then turned her attention to the stars. She then spoke Ryou's future:
"What I see in your future is no physical accomplishment, but rather a mental transition. I can see the qualities you possess are that of passiveness, hesitation, withdrawal. But what the stars tell me is that those will change soon, and you will one day be more assertive. You will speak your mind without fear of persecution. You will be much more dynamic. What causes this sudden change, I am uncertain, but if you have your doubts, you may always trust in the 'heart of the cards', as you may say."
Z.m123 -
Hex studied the stars for the doe, and then replied:
"Consider the one thing you have wanted for a long time. You don't seem like the type that wants to hoard or possess too many things, but instead I sense you are more of the kind of doe who values friendship as true treasures. In your future I see someone else you've been wanting to be friends with, perhaps a difficult person, or perhaps just an acquaintance. That is unclear, but what I do see is that this person will have a sudden change of heart, and you will gain a friend you have most desired."
She spoke one more thing for her, "To be one who wants the world for their own is often the way people are, but to be one who only wants friendship will be much more successful in obtaining it."
"Really!?.. That's very
It was with curiosity Illrose
"Sure, do that." She replied, curious of what the other one would tell her.
Ishizu had heard whispers of
No, she had never been concerned with her own future. She was simply a tool of fate, a servant of the gods. It only seemed when the future of others was at stake did she begin to risk her own investments, so used to it she had been. Now, she was caught in a limbo. She could no longer see the future, yet she felt her task was still incomplete. Though, she shoved these thoughts from her mind, putting off this dilemma yet again for another day.
Ishizu's thoughts today were more concrete and immediate. Could this seer tell if the life inside her would see the light of day? Would this child have a happy life?
Ishizu approached the doe head-on and stopped as the dreamy voice carried itself to her ears. She looked down to the ground, a rare moment in which Ishizu had to gather her courage to speak.
"Not for me, no, but for the life I bear that has yet to be." She looked back to her belly, which now had an ever-so-subtle roundness to it now. Ishizu had to hold herself back from asking for any more. She of all people knew that these things must happen naturally and freely, if they are to happen at all.
Ryou froze as her words sunk
"Thank you," he replied quickly, standing up and turning to leave. He only made it a few steps, though, before the glowing form of the Millennium Ring appeared around his neck and his appearance changed to that of Bakura.
The former thief also approached the doe, giving her a half-bow although she could not see.
"I too would like to know," he said, seating himself where Ryou had just been.

The corpse of Teradeer ambles
(Reading this blog I had to laugh because I have my deck sitting beside me on my desk at the moment. If you are so inclined, I could do a drawing for you in return Quad, ether for Hex or another character...though I make no claims to be trained in reading cards, I just make things up as I go along lol)
Snowsauria - Hex looked upon
Hex looked upon the starry sky for only a moment, and then spoke Illrose's future:
"It seems that you have been wandering for quite some time, losing your sense of focus and essentially your being as well. But all is not lost, not yet. There will be a day where you find yourself wandering near the river that flows from the Crying Idol. It will be in this moment that you start to follow the river to the pond, during that time, your mind will unwind and you will ultimately see a much deeper meaning to the world. Whether you will have a better appreciation or simply a different view of the world, I cannot tell."
OkamiLugia -
"Ah yes, I see now that there are two before me rather than one - you and your child. Very well, I will see what the future holds.", the seer raised her head and read from the sky. Ishi may have noticed the slight smile on her face when she returned and spoke the prediction:
"What a beautiful little girl. She will be born at a time of celebration, during a transition from a harsh time in the Forest. All the deer will be rejoicing, and all will be safe. The life I see for your daughter will be a bright one, full of wonders and joy. When the day comes, remember to thank the earth for being given such a precious gift."
Skitties - Hex tilted her
Hex tilted her head just slightly. "How interesting, only one body yet two souls? That intrigues me...", she spoke and raised her head to the sky.
"You seem to have had a...change of heart...once you were the king of thieves, but today you appear to be a much different person. You have much to care for these days, whereas before you would not have cared of what you did to others. What caused you to change this way? Was it a love interest? Was it the realization that your past isn't what you wanted? I cannot see the answer to those questions, but what I do see is a stag who has become a provider rather than a thief. In the following days you will be much more generous than you would ever expect."
Terabetha - (Haha yeah I'm not really an expert myself, I have a book that corresponds to the deck I have, so that's where I'm getting the fortunes from. And yes, I would love to have a card drawn for Hex! Thank you!
The card for you, by the way, is the Ten of Coins)
"A trade? I would be very interested in hearing your own prediction for me, I'm quite excited really!", Hex said happily to Teradeer, and then reading the stars, she spoke a fortune for the creature:
"Very soon you will come to an important decision, a life changing one actually. Pay attention to the changes in the seasons, and the changing of the trees. There is a clue in the leaves as to what you will expect to see. It will be then when you know what to do for the future. Will you perhaps change the course of history with this revelation? Is it a decision you choose to make, or one you will be forced into? Wait for the trees to tell you, and then you will know for sure."
Bakura smiled slightly.
He stood, half-bowed to her again, and then he left, both souls within the body pondering the seer's words.

Ishizu couldn't contain her
Trying not to let her emotions show too much, she bowed deeply. "Thank you... So much..."
She tried to walk away calmly, but she couldn't contain herself as she sprung into the air before trotting off happily. She wanted to share the news.
"A girl..."
A strange wonder approached
Her overly hairy ears flexed as the fortune teller spoke, immedately knowing what to ask. And with a deeply personal wisper, she asked: "Do you see me fitting into the Forest, ever? Ahem, will you give me a fortune, please?"
Her change in question showed that she wasn't confident in herself, but that was because she was so friendless in this Forest. It wasnt her fault, she was simply new, and the new had it harder until newer came in to take their spot as friendless.
Dinamo - Hex smiled just
Hex smiled just slightly. She detected the lack of confidence in the speaker's voice, and raising her head, she spoke something for the visitor:
"Your emotions are coiled tightly. Your defenses are raised to their max. It is not something you chose, but rather just the way you are. Nothing to be ashamed of.
In the coming days you will have a breakthrough. Something will cause you to unwind your instincts. It will cause you to open up more, and in that moment, yes, you will be accepted by others in this Forest. Take the time to reflect on how you perceive yourself to others, and you'll find the breakthrough you need to discover."

His mind made up, Marik nodded and answered simply, "Yes."
Zyzzy - Hex smiled politely
Hex smiled politely after hearing Zyzzy's question. "I would be honored to hear what you could speak of my future. After all, I do not see anything worse than what I have lived through before.", she spoke, her mind cluttered just briefly of the terrible amounts of suffering she endured from within Iugulare's infection. Hex simply believed that there were few things left to bring her bad news.
Eyestrain -
The doe heard the faint pattering of the fawn's hooves. She knew someone was there, but who...she didn't know. Not receiving an answer to her question, though, she chose to see what the stars may say for whoever was out there.
Speaking a little louder than normal, she said the fortune for the fawn: "Ah, now I see that you are a mere fawn, perhaps you simply do not have the voice to come near. But I do see something for you, not short term but in the future. You will develop very well, and become a great deer, a role model, perhaps a leader if you choose to do so. But from there I do not know what you will become. There are many things that can affect your life, many choices that can alter who you will grow to be. Whatever path you choose, I want you to know that you will have little difficulty getting there."
Haru -
Hex did not choose to say anything else for this newcomer. She could hear the emotions in his voice, she could tell he had been down a dark and challenging path. She raised her head to the sky and saw something for him. Perhaps the words she found would give him some resolve.
"What I see for you is one simple word. Yet this one word can be so very powerful, and can mean so many things. To you, this word gives hope to their future. But to those who oppose you, this word means their worst nightmares have come true.
The word I see for you is simply the word 'Victory'. While I do not see further past this point, it rings clear to me that in the very end, the struggle you have endured will not be for vain. Whatever it is you have fought for, whatever it is you've sacrificed for, you will ultimately be victorious."
Victory. Marik's ears pricked
Though it was subtle, the tiniest of smiles tugged at the corners of the oryx's mouth. There was hope for him after all. Marik bowed, a privileged gesture that so few deer ever saw. "Thank you," He muttered quietly before slipping away into the night.

Dinamo easily padded up to the silent deer, noticing that she was looking upwards. As soon as she asked, Dina knew immedately what this deer was. She had heard about them, but never met one - a fortune teller. A seer.
With a slight twitch of the tail and a bow, she nodded to the doe. She waited for her to respond, but when she said nothing, she decided to verbally accept. Before she could, she noticed the doe's creamy looking eyes, noting immedately that she was blind.
She gasped to herself for being so stupid and seemed to dust herself off, only to clear her throat and nod again: "I would love to hear my fortune, but do you see anything about my soon to be fawn?"
Listening intently to her
the fawn's tail flickered
and the secretive smile starting from his eyes
made his face into a voice
that seemed to laugh
as he turned
and
dashed away
kicking up his legs with abandon.
I don't strive to be the best, but instead I strive to do my best, and always give it my all every time.

Zyzzy smiled as she replied,
"Oh, the things in store for you," he said, smiling. "You have such an amazing gift, though it may seem like a burden and even a curse sometimes, but its a blessing to many. You will help many here in this forest, maybe even save lives. You're going to shine brighter than the stars someday... you're going to do and experience so many brilliant things... some of it may be difficult or hard to deal with at first, but it will be worth it for all the good it will bring to you! Your suffering and days of darkness are over... its time to shine, and oh, you will."

Hex raised her head to the stars once again, another reading for another fawn yet-to-be...
"Ah yes. I see a bright and lively young boy, full of energy. He is very adventurous, very strong for his age, and very outspoken. But I see much more than that. In your womb I see the makings of a great leader. He will do many great and extraordinary things in his lifetime, some you may get to see for yourself. In fact...", Hex's face smiled quite a bit here, "I see you still in the picture at that point. Nurture him, care for him, and when he's ready to do what he wants, let him become the stag he will be born for."
Zyzzy -
The words Zyzzy spoke for Hex brought a tear to her own eyes. She didn't know what to say, very surprised to hear the fortune given to her. The doe reached and nuzzled him, and speaking she said, "You don't realize how happy you have made me. Thank you, I will no longer fear the darkness now."
She approached slowly, her
She stared, watching, for a few brief moments. Finally, she cleared her throat and spoke, her voice low, a bit antsy.
Please do.

Can I have the name of the card pulled too? I'm always curious about stuff like this. (:

Hex nodded and then stared at the stars. She tilted her head just slightly when she read what the starlight had to say for the newcomer.
"What I see for you is change. There has been something bothering you deeply lately. You have felt pressure from others to become something else than what you are. How do you feel about this? Are you accepting of change? Or are you one who is steadfast to what they represent?
You have the choice of two paths before you - on one path you become what your peers want you to be. You make them happy at the expense of what you want. You become something that isn't you. However, in the other path, you remain exactly as you are. You may anger your friends who want you to change, but if it comes to that, then you may want to look for better friends.
Regardless of what you choose, something will change. Are you willing to sacrifice the things you love for others who may betray you? Are you willing to remain who you are, even at the expense of losing your friends? The choice is entirely yours."
I wanted to note something
I don't 'reverse' any of my cards. It's a habit I've had from playing Magic: The Gathering - I like my cards all to be the same direction. However in Tarot there's a definite meaning for cards that are 'reversed', generally it means the opposite or negative of the meaning of the card.
You may have noticed that all of the readings/fortunes Hex has given are generally good. There are some where I gave a "you can either do this and have something good happen or do that and suffer the consequences" kind of fortunes, but overall, I haven't given any "you're gonna die" readings. It's partly because of the fact that I don't reverse the cards, but also I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
But out of curiosity, do you guys want me to throw in the occasional 'reversed' reading? Do you guys want me to occasionally have a bad fortune? I don't want to do anything that you don't like, but it would be more realistic I suppose.
*also note, I will never, ever do a reversed fortune for someone's unborn fawn. That would be cruel*
Anyway if you think I should, I will reverse half of the deck the next time I shuffle. But it's completely up to you guys. If you like the way I have been doing Hex's fortunes, I'll keep the deck as it is.
Terabetha gave this suggestion:
"I usually reverse my cards, but I think since you're sort of fudging the meanings of yours you could always 'brighten up' a fortune that seemed really doom-and-gloom lol"
So I think I will do that.
Yeah, I think some reversed
"*also note, I will never, ever do a reversed fortune for someone's unborn fawn. That would be cruel*" - that gave me a giggle x3

Hex raised her head, though tilting it curiously. This reading was different than the others she had given before.
"This is interesting. I see you are a researcher, yet what I see for your future is nothing but frustration. Whatever you are currently working on will be destroyed by accident. Something you've wanted to study, something irreplaceable, will be shattered. And at that point, you will be tested on your patience. Can you handle not having enough information about that you were studying? Will you survive without learning the infinite secrets of that which will be destroyed? Or will lack of patience overcome you? I will be curious to see what the ultimate outcome will be."

She left without a word, vanishing from view in the blink of an eye, returning to her home and her rightful form, unsure what to think.
Edit: (Going to go ahead and post this, if this isn't entirely what you had in mind for Hex to be able to do, that's fine by me.)
The former thief approached the doe once more, sitting in front of her before speaking. "I was wondering... if you would do another reading. Not for me, per say... There are spirits here that are very precious to me... my family. They were captured. I was hoping you could tell me if I'll be able to save them."
Bakura waited patiently for Hex to respond.

Hex nodded and then studied the stars for Bakura. She then smiled and spoke for the former thief:
"You ask whether you will be able to save your family. While I do not see your intended actions on this matter, I do see the outcome. A reunion with them.
Yes, you will save your family, but the actions you must take to do so, I do not see. There is something else that seems foggy to me, there is another vision where I see them together, happy and free...but I do not see you among them. What this means, I also do not know. You may want to consider your options carefully before you decide what course you will take to save them. Although your family will ultimately be saved, there could be a possibility that you will lose your own freedom, either by capture or by death."
