.This is my {Morphinae} "fairy tale".

Meadows's picture

There was a doe.
Her name was Morphinae.

Like a butterfly in appearance,
but not in spirit.

She was born of a story,
but did not care for fairy tales.

Portraits Cast

There once was a butterfly.
As most small creatures that do not dwell long in life,
he seemed to himself to have lived quite some time and seen many things;
in fact he had only flown for two days.
The blue thing was self assured,
in that the whole world could not be much more than what it had already encountered.

One day it was resting on a purple flower, when it saw a doe.
By chance this the first one it had seen, and it fancied to itself that it had fallen in love.
It was merely a moment, completely unnoticed by the doe, who wore the raven mask.
Perhaps this butterfly should have been afraid of this mask, and it's fellows warned it.
Seeing he would not be swayed, his playmates wandered off, forgetting as butterflies do.
He did not forget as he should have.
It seemed to him a very long time as the doe rested for a few hours among the flowers.
And as she did two twin butterflies glowing brightly approached him.
They asked him why he did not fly merrily about with his friends, if something ailed him.
He replied with what troubled him, and the two were silent for a time.

The twins offered to give him a chance with the doe he claimed he loved.
They warned him of all he would sacrifice, his flight being foremost. But long life and love to gain.
Being only a butterfly he gave no thought, happily accepting their gift of a name.
Did the doe return his love? It cannot be said for certain, but slowly she grew to care for him;
The brightly colored buck whose very existence seemed made of whimsy.

And so she grieved when upon visiting the pond;
He forgot he couldn't fly.

And so she was taught to never leave the ground, lest she fall.
The doe listened to her mother, but at the same her heart grew closed and bitter.

Indeed she did not leave the ground, becoming apathetic and slothful.
Still she welcomed the company of others, if they would care to suffer her biting tongue.

The two that had given her father such a gift watched over her with concern, full of doubt.

But, just perhaps... something may come of this one yet.

Oh man. I was worried it

Oh man. I was worried it would become crowded (I just adore the simplicity- the best biographies convey as much in as little as possible), but this was just a perfect alternative. And your separate images for them, oh my gosh. Just. This biography is wonderful, 11/10, excellently done.

Your comments always make me smile ah~ Thank you <33

And I agree, I love simple biographies but I usually have trouble making them myself because I want to include all sorts of details. So this is a bit of a departure from the norm for me, not being the usual info sheet sort of thing.

A beautiful character.
