Ah. I can't seem to ever see my pictogram on the map - will it affect what other people see? Or to word it better, if I can't see it, will other not see it?

I have trouble finding your picto on the map as well. I may have seen it once or twice, but other than that I don't.
So in short, yes, if you aren't seeing it, others probably aren't, either. Sometimes changing to a different browser works (different browsers seem to refresh the map at different rates), but it's usually about the same for everybody, as far as which pictos show up.
Usually a pictogram fails to show on the map because the player has either had trouble connecting initially (even if they get a green dot), or the player never managed to fully connect.
I hear Australia is notorious for TEF connection issues, so it may be related to that.
Not sure what to do to fix it, other than re-connecting and trying to get a cleaner connection, but if you've already tried that I dunno :<
My friend and I started playing on here, and made an account on the same exact day, and downloaded the game on the same day as well. Today, she logged in and she was an adult, but when I logged in I was still a fawn. So I checked my account page, and it said I had only been a member for 1 week and 4 days...? While my friend's said 4 weeks and 2 days. Can this be fixed? I'm really irritated because I want to play as an adult too and I've been waiting until I could, and now I suddenly have lost seniority.
It could be because the server is located in Belgium, and thus runs on Belgium time. If you registered later in the day than your friend, it may have counted that as you registering the next day because it was already the next day in Belgium.
Also, the time shown on your account page on this site doesn't reflect how long ago you registered for the game. It just shows how long ago you first logged onto this site.
For example, I registered just over 6 years ago, but my account page doesn't say that since I logged into this site some time later.
horselover: if you're casting on a particular someone and they have their game unclicked to stop running in background, your magic won't work until they tab back into the game. If this isn't the case, then you may have to restart your game. :/
horselover500: Are you sure you've connected to the server? What colour is the little circle in the bottom left hand corner of the menu? If it is red or orange, you are having trouble connecting to the game and might not be able to see or interact with other players.
There isn't much that can be done if your internet connection to the server is weak. You can try:
- Connecting through another internet source, this could be a ethernet cable, or through another wireless network.
- Try connecting at a time when there are fewer players online. Having many players will stronger/faster internet connecting to the server, makes it harder for weaker connections to get online.
- I've heard that trying to run multiple game windows can help with connections but I personally have no experience with doing this, so I don't know how it is done. You could try making your own blog asking the community how it is done.
Hm, ok have you signed into the game via the game menu? If not, try following this tutorial.
Can you say any pictograms (the glowing yellow symbols that identify logged in players)? Are they all bunched together at the bottom of the game screen?
im logged in and everything but the little light turns orange so i disconnect and reconnect and then the light turns green. i run around the forest looking for other deer but there arent any pictos on the map and no deer shows up
You don't happen to have the option 'display other players' turned down all the way do you? I'm assuming not but it's a good thing to check.
How long have you waited for other players to load? At least ten minutes?
If the light is turning from green to orange that means you are unable to maintain a strong connection to the server. Unfortunately, unless you have another network available to try connecting with, there isn't much that can be done (if none of the previous suggestions worked).
You're welcome! I'm sorry we couldn't find a solution, but several players in the past have randomly developed this issue and then randomly had it go away. Check back now and then by trying to connect, you might have a stroke of good luck. The TEF server is a very fickle.
I can't get into the game! It keeps saying, "Windows is checking for a solution to this problem" then tells me, "Windows will notify you if it finds a solution". Please help, I love this game!

Be careful about minimizing the game itself; whenever I accidentally do that, the same error pops up for me.
If you're getting it without minimizing it, though, try right clicking and if you have the option to run it as admin, try giving that a shot.
