Previously; Witnessed the death of her son, unpredictable and needy. Seeking comfort and company.

Miyako (Mee-yah-koo) | Identity | 21.12.2013 | In her prime | Female | Wild white-tailed deer | Northern Brazil | Home

» Innocent being at birth. Grew as a naive and easily lead on adolescent leading her into countless of troubles and heartache. Traumatized as she was a victim of an assault. Her former lover took abused her both mentally and physically until the point of no return. In addition the breaking of her second family, her foster family caused her more mental trauma by disowning her at a very delicate time of her life. Being unlucky with partners she has intimacy issues and a great fear towards the male gender.

» Loves unconditionally, cares passionately. Hates brutally. She still shows submission towards many, but has shaken off the naive nature she once held. Suspicious when first meeting someone, unlikely to trust or forgive easily.

» Has taken collecting and crafting to heart as if she was to continue the legacy of her former guardian and partner. Has yet to practice crafting hoping one day she could create something magnificent.

Kenai First born biological son. Could not be there for him when he was born as she was taken from the world as we know it, was given the gift of returning when her son was already a teenager. They had hard time building their relationship and never truly managed to get close. With all the highs and lows with the boy she was incredibly proud of him and loved him to no end. Deceassed on 4th of December 2016.

Mortis Auctor Viewed as a Father and a Mentor. Deep rooted mutual connection she still feels after years of being separated. Longs for his calm presence more than anything, often seeks guidance from him even though he isn't around. Loading...
Djinn Adoptive Mother. When she was a newborn she received the greatest of care and protection from the hind, growing deeply attached to her, growing to respect and admire her. Relationship fell apart when she was disowned by the hind and her mate at the time. Miyako left burning bridges hoping to never see her face again. As time went by found herself longing for her mother's guidance and care, started mending things with her. Their bond is still in repair, mending. Loading..
Morikiah Former adoptive Father, a relationship she never managed to mend after breaking ties with him. When she was disowned by the orange male she felt great hatred and disgust towards the male, only recently understanding the male's reasoning behind his actions. Hoping to mend things with him, however cannot find the courage to track him down after so long.

Thane Her guardian, her former lover, her dream in a nightmare. Her very first infatuation, love and the reason for many of her mental issues to this day. She was physically, emotionally and mentally abused by the Craftsman and yet she found herself returning to his side time after time. The Craftsman is the very reason why she was disowned by her surrogate family as she would not let him go even when her family pledged her to. There are days when she regrets ever getting to know the male and days when she would give anything to return to him. Stockholm syndrome. Ptsd.
Nikodim Her beast, her guardian, hers. He was her first friend and first to look after her after her arrival. Cherished the beast highly, loved even. Would have done anything to gain his full attention and affections. A forbidden fruit. Greatly missed.
Neiro Father of Kenai. What started off as a friendship between a beast and a fawn turned into something deeper, on her behalf at least. Grew fond of him, loved him and believed he felt the same for her. Got pregnant with his child and not long after received the news of him and another female being an item. Bitter towards, yet misses.
Beren Best friend. A relationship she has always valued highly. At one time harbored feelings for the wolf, keeping them to herself mostly as she did not wish to disturb the dynamics of the wolf's family.
Umay Considered a friend after being rejected by the lion mother, grateful for everything she has done for. The Blue eyes would no longer breathe and walk the earth if it wasn't for her. There are no words to describe the gratitude she feels for her.
Leviathann Another strong female she looks up to, admires and is forever grateful to. Distantly respects her as she doesn't dare to approach her after all this time.
Khard Lost friendship. Once rather close with the beast, but never dared to let him as close as he would have wanted to be. Breaking the beast's heart she parted ways with him, hoping to mend things with her beast. Missed.
Maelstrom Feared. Disgusted by. Heavily disliked. His target and victim. Was nearly killed by him.

"Hello, child."

"Hello, child."

"H-hello, sir."

"H-hello, sir."

"Sir..." The stag echoes the

"Sir..." The stag echoes the title thoughtfully, his unblinking gaze never wavering from the fawn. "My name is Mortis. Have you a name?"

Pushing her luck she gently

Pushing her luck she gently leans on the male with her eyes narrowed, avoiding eye contact. "Mortis.." A quiet whisper to remember the name. "No. At least I cannot remember it." She pressed her tiny ears against her head ashamed.

As the little doe leans her

As the little doe leans her light frame against his shoulder, the stag cocks his head slightly, ruffling his fur. Perhaps in an attempt to provide that extra it of warmth on such a cold day. The Author's unfocused gaze remains fixed on the fawn, eyes crinkling around the edges, seeming to glow in the darkness within the sockets of his mask. "No name?" He feels her ears fall back as they brush against his fur and he perks his forward in turn. "You are not happy? You wish to have a name?"

One more inch. She snuggled

One more inch. She snuggled slightly closer to him as she noticed he accepted it. The warmth of his body felt nice against hers, she had been freezing since the moment she woke up. As she heard his question she turned her gaze to him actually looking at his face for the first time. "I-it would be nice to have a name, I've tried to think how I should call myself but.." She left her sentence unfinished and shrugged. "W-would you l-like to give me one?" She turned her gaze away, she felt silly asking such a thing.

Mortis lifts his head,

Mortis lifts his head, straightening his stiff neck and groaning. He remains this way, still and silent, thinking. Then he breaks his fair impression of a statue and turns his gaze back to the approximate area of the fawn's head. "A name is not something I am fit to give." He pauses, smiling apologetically down at the child. "Perhaps... I could help you discover a name you find suitable."

With a frown upon her

With a frown upon her delicate features she turned her head to his direction thinking how magnificent he looked at the moment. She tilted her head after he spoke. /Why couldn't you give me a name?/ She thought tilting her head and then let her gaze wonder around. "Ohh.." She sighed and flashed a brief forced smile, she understood and didn't understand. "Really? Thank you!" Her expression brightened and her ears perked up. "Umm-... It d-doesn't have to be an actual name, a word with a pretty meaning behind it would work, too." She rambled with her eyes shining and tail wagging contently. Obviously she was excited.

The stag smiles warmly down

The stag smiles warmly down at the fawn's excited display. "Just because a word is common, does not mean it cannot be a 'real' name." He chuckles, titling his head to peer up at the steely sky as he contemplates a name for his new companion. "It is cold today. Maybe you would like a warm name? Perhaps a name with an 'M' or an 'R' in it; they are warm letters. You said pretty, yes? Maybe you like Rose? " He lets the 'r' sound roll off his tongue, deep voice taking on a bit of a ridiculous accent.

Her eyes kept shining like

Her eyes kept shining like two stars in a night sky as she listened the male's words carefully. A soft chuckle escapes her mouth. "A warm name is good. Really good." She nodded a couple of times with her eyes closed. "Rose is pretty, indeed. I thought of it after the names Chiyo and Miyako crossed my mind." She mumbled quietly pondering how the name Rose sounded to her. The first one of the names meant 'thousand generations' and the second stood for 'beautiful night'.

Mortis presses his ears

Mortis presses his ears forward in surprise. "You are asking for this old fool's help when such beautiful names just 'cross your mind'." His eyes sparkle warmly as a silky chuckle flows from beneath his mask into the chilled air, a puff of vapor. "What other pretty names have crossed your mind, little one?"

"Old fool?" She chuckled and

"Old fool?" She chuckled and shook her head slowly in amusement. Those were a few of the last words to describe him. "You're not an old fool to me. Well, maybe old but not a fool." Her smile widened and turned into a devilish yet playful grin. "Hmm.. I have thought about Shin, too. Those are all I've come up with." She shrugged with an asking expression upon her face. The last word meant 'real' or 'true'. "What do you think?" She asked.

Mort raises his head and

Mort raises his head and laughs outright at her comment on his age. "My, my, child. You have no idea." He chuckles himself into a contemplative silence, considering the new addition to the small group of names. "I think Miyako is a lovely name for you, my dear. Does it have any significance?" He looks down, wishing for all the world that he could see her face. To be able to see the bright eyes clearly. He sighs and closes his eyes, his ears still swiveled down towards the fawn.

She lifted other one of her

She lifted other one of her eyebrows in confusion - what was he laughing at? She wondered. To her he didn't seem like a centuries old male, no. She leaned against the male again letting out a deep sigh as she gazed to the distance, to all the deer running by them. "Miyako.." She repeated quietly with a smile upon her face. "Hello, my name is Miyako." There was a playful tone in her voice as she introduced herself to him again, this time with a name. "If I remember right it stands for beautiful night. I may be wrong, though."

Eyes still closed, he smiles

Eyes still closed, he smiles down at the fawn. "Well it is certainly nice to make your acquaintance, Miyako. It does fit you. It fits you very nicely. I am glad I could be of help." He shifts slightly, stretching one of his forelegs out in front of him on the rock. After a moment he quirks his head, turning to look at Miyako. "You said you could not remember your name. What happened to make you forget your own name?"

She flashed a smile back to

She flashed a smile back to him. This time it was sincere. "Thank you so much for your help, kind sir. You have no clue how much this means to me." Miyako stood up so she would be able to give her new companion a proper nuzzle. "I can't remember that either, like I cant remember how I ended up here. " She laid down and kept her silence for a moment before she glanced at the male and opened her mouth. "Enough about me already. Tell me more about yourself, hm?"

He looks momentarily

He looks momentarily surprised by Miyako's display of affection, but quickly covers it up with a warm smile. "You are very welcome. It is not every day I get to help one find something as sacred as their own name." He grins and shakes out his neck fur, letting the snow that had gathered on his antlers fall to the ground. His smile falters and he turns his gaze from the fawn. "There is so much to know about this old one, child. You must be a little more specific."

"Mmh, I guess you're right. "

"Mmh, I guess you're right. " She shrugged with a content smile upon her face as she snuggled closer again, she was surprisingly comfortable there beside someone she had met not long ago. Yet she could not deny that fact that she was happy that he had been the one helping her figure out a name.
As the male shook the snow off his fur some of it fell to the fawn's head making her ear twitch. "Heey!" She hissed with a deep frown acting to be upset. Miyako nudged him rather roughly as a revenge still knowing it wouldn't hurt him. "Well, how did you end up here or were you born here? And to be exact, how old are you?" Her voice was quiet as she spoke but one could tell that it was full of enthusiasm.

// Awww. ♥ That's one pretty screenshot edit there. I especially like the angle and how it's cut. Really gorgeous. ♥

At her indignant protest, he

At her indignant protest, he puts his ears flat against his head and gasps melodramatically. "My sincerest apologies, my dear!" He can't keep a serious face for long though and he giggles in a completely undignified manner, quickly scowling and feigning injury at her nudge.
He regains the composure expected of his age when the young doe asks her question. " I was not born here, but I have visited this place many times. I was born in a different world, as a different species, even. I started life as a human in a place called Italy. More specifically, Rome." He pauses, obviously caught up in the memories of his birthplace. Her second question eventually comes back to the forefront of his mind and smiles ruefully. "I am a total of two thousand, five hundred and fifty-one years old. I have seen much in my time, but now I don't see much at all." He sighs, closing his eyes once more.

//Thank you :) It was very simple, and the scene was just two pretty not to capture~

"Apology accepted." She gave

"Apology accepted." She gave him a slow nod with her eyes closed and ears twitched backwards. As she opened her eyes she could not help but laugh, his giggling was contagious.
Miyako tilted her head whilst listening and narrowed her eyes as she looked how his lips moved, how he breathed. A human? What are humans? She thought, but didn't dare to ask it out loud, she didn't want to seem stupid. "O-oh? Was it beautiful there? In-.. Rome?" Without no idea where this Rome was she tried to sound believable.
Her eyes were wide open as she heard the small number that was his age. "One, two, three.." She drew little dots with her hoof to resemble the years she was counting. "That is-.. a lot, right? What you mean? You're eyes seem fine" She was not able to understand the great number he told her nor the fact that he wasn't able to see well. Such a naive fawn she still was.

// Pretty doesn't always have to be complicated. I, myself, prefer simplicity.
Sorry for the delay, btw.

He could see the confusion

He could see the confusion very plainly on her face, and smiled kindly. "I can see that you do not know what I am speaking of. You have seen what the inhabitants call 'the ruins', yes? Well. Imagine many many more of those, but pristine and new. All tall stone walls and hundreds of buildings, great arches and columns that shine warm and golden in the sun. Beautiful sculptures and statues, architecture beyond your wildest dreams! I can see it so clearly in my mind." His words grow in intensity as he loses himself to the memories, finally remembering his audience to be incapable of understanding all that he is describing as he lowers his voice to a whisper for the last sentence. How he wished he could somehow transfer the memory to the fawn snuggled into his side.
With a melancholy smile he continues, "It breaks my heart that I lived to see my city fall, but fall it did. That was a very long time ago, and I am very, very old. He turns his gaze to the fawn, his eyes desperately trying to focus on the blurry form of her body, making his head throb. "My eyes are poor, young one. I cannot see as well as you can, not even close. The best my eyes can manage are colorful blobs."

// Oh it's quite alright, seeing as I should be saying the same thing. I'm currently juggling chores and this at the moment cx

Further the male spoke her

Further the male spoke her fascination grew bigger. She tried ever so hard to draw the picture he was described, only problem is that her imagination wasn't wild enough to make those ruins alive again. She sighed and closed her eyes tightly as she was trying even harder, still listening what else there was in this place called Rome.
A fading image of the city was built to her mind, of course it didn't match up with the reality, but it was enough for her. "I wish I could have seen your home in its glory. It must have been beautiful." The thought of unknown didn't scare her since she knew that if there was something she should have been afraid of, it would have shown in his gestures and words. "What you mean your city fell? What happened? " Her honest curiosity shone from her eyes as she opened her eyes again to look at Mortis. "Is there any way you or I can fix that?" More she knew, the more she had questions. After the last one she stood up with her ears perked up, she was ready to get him anything he needed.

// Nnn.. Sorry I left last night all of a sudden. My connection started to act up and I wasn't able to fix it. Thankfully it's all good now. :'D

The Author slowly lowers his

The Author slowly lowers his head until the very tip of his mask rests upon the rock, and closes his eyes. "It was very beautiful indeed. I do not wish to upset you with such a woeful tale. At least, not today. It was too many years ago for us to do anything, little Miyako." He raises his head in a way that makes it look as if he holds all of the world atop his crown. Perhaps he does, in a way. Yet he smiles down at the fawn, the only indicator being his eyes crinkling, the rest of his face hidden in shadows by his frightening bone mask.

//Oh it's just fine♥ I understand,and I'm glad your connection is all fixed up!
I was wondering if, perhaps we could end this little scene and skip forward to where they are sitting today? Mortis could then tell her about how Rome fell if she still wanted to know :)

It was fixed when I woke up

It was fixed when I woke up this morning. As for the future, if I disappear like that it's most likely because of my connection, it doesn't always want to befriend me, so to say.
Sounds great! (:

The little one had been resting with her new encounter and was pleased to see more familiar faces around and was even more pleased that Mortis had joined them. She pressed herself against him trying to get as close as possible.
It wasn't snowing today nor was it too cold so the only reason for her actions were unknown. Maybe she wanted to feel his warmth or heartbeat again? She didn't say a word whilst trying to find the perfect pose beside him, only noises she made was those quiet and stubborn snuffling sounds every time she moved.

Mortis chuckles and presses

Mortis chuckles and presses the tip of his skull to the place directly behind Miyako's ears, scratching gently, an affectionate gesture. Settling into the soft grasses found on the edge of the birch, he inclines his head to Miyako's new friend and the little doe he had led over to the group. At the familiar press of the fawn's form against his side, he turns his gaze back down to her and ruffles his thick neck ruff. Finally, once the little doe has settled against him, he sighs contentedly and murmurs, "It is good to see you once more, miss Miyako."

His scratching felt too good,

His scratching felt too good, she had to close her eyes and sigh to be able to fully enjoy it. She was careful not to drop the little red flower behind her ears since its value was higher than one would think. It was a present from her first friend. "I was afraid that I wouldn't see you again, sir Mortis. It made me glad to see you there in the distance." The emphasis was on that one specific word in order to tease the old stag a bit. "Could you tell me more about this Rome?" She rubbed her forehead against his side to leave a scent mark and to look cute. "... Please?"

Double post of doom.

Double post of doom.

"I will always be around here

"I will always be around here somewhere, little one." He chuckles at her emphasis on the honorific and pinches her shoulder gently with the tip of his mask. "You wanted to know how Rome fell, yes?" He shifts a bit uncomfortably, but there is still a smile in his eyes. He can't lie to himself and think that he isn't stalling, but it is his calling to pass on the legacies of others. If the story of his city is more painful than the rest, then it is all the more powerful and must be recalled often despite the pain.

She gave him a slight nod as

She gave him a slight nod as the feeling of safety filled her. Knowing someone she knew was always around made her feel more comfortable, more brave to explore the forest. "Ouch!" She screamed with a frown upon her delicate features obviously over dramatizing. There was a devious look in her eyes as she took a tuft of hair between her teeth and tugged it gently.
"Yes, if you had nothing against it?" A worry of being too eager was given away by her expression. "A-and it would be nice to know more about those-.. humans?"

"Ah, mercy, little ruffian!"

"Ah, mercy, little ruffian!" He hollers as she tugs on his fur, but quickly dissolves into a fit of chuckling, shaking his head. "I have not laughed as I am now for a very long time. I must thank you. And I guess a good tale about the fall of an empire can be a token of my thanks, yes?" His eyes crinkle as he smiles broadly beneath his mask and he takes a moment to gather his thoughts before speaking.
"You wish to know about humans. Humans are animals, like deer, but they do not think they are animals. They are smart, terribly clever, but they are fools. You must understand, little one, that there is a difference between being smart and being wise. When one is wise they are capable of making good decisions, and good decisions are not the strong points of humans.
"I am being much too prophetic. You wish to know what humans look like I bet. Well, they are about as tall as I am, but thin. They stand on only two legs, their front two appendages they call arms, and they have no hooves. Instead little fleshy tentacles they call fingers. With them they can do amazing things. They can build and draw and write. They can make music and fire and so much more with their hands.
They are also capable of destruction. Just as it were humans who built my beautiful city, my beautiful Rome, it were humans who destroyed it. There was betrayal within the city. Then, there were armies of men bearing fire and destruction who tore Rome to the ground and burned it's ruins to ashes. Many died, and many more lost their homes, myself included. Rome fell to the hands of vandals.
Mortis stops, voice low and pained and he turns his face away from the fawn, attempting to hide his grief. He had meant to continue, or to at least do a better job than that, but it is too much and he is out of practice. He will leave it there. For now, at least.

She giggled with bright tone

She giggled with bright tone in her voice as the male chuckled. "Don't you thank me, silly. I'm glad to hear I can lift your spirits like this." She rubbed her cheek against him, burying her face into his fur for a moment before he started talking again. The little one sat there beside him listening carefully, eyes shining as she looked up to him.
One could see how her brain worked, put all the pieces to their places in the puzzle, tried to create a full image of what humans are and how they work. The more narrowed her eyes became the more she thought.
When Mortis mentioned the way humans walked, the fawn stood up trying stand on her hind legs, lying all her weight on them. For a moment she was able to stay like that. "!..." She was about to interrupt him but before she said a word she fell down to the ground to lay on her side. Her ears flattened against her head at the same time as her face turned bright red. She was embarrassed.
Miyako inched closer to the male and clung to his side again and listened the end of his tale. "I guess those humans are dangerous to us? I mean, since they do all those horrible things, they would hurt us, right? And what about those who lost their homes in Rome, what happened to them? Were they alright? Were you alright?" Yet again her head was full of questions and she thought she didn't say the last ones out loud and the last ones were not meant to be answered, they were something she pondered on her own.
A frown appears upon her features and she tries to reach her head higher to see why the male turned his gaze away.
