The Curse
Iunia was originally a human, but as a consequence for violent and wicked actions in the past she has been cursed to roam as a monstrous doe. Her body was made to reflect her venom and heart, and to warn others of the cruelty within. She grew bright blue fur, her bones twisted and tore through her skin, and she grew the tail of a highly toxic scorpion.

The Student
Iunia was born to loving and wealthy nobility in a far off desert kingdom in a land of magic. She was born around the same time as the kingdoms beloved prince, and due to her parents unwavering friendship with the king and queen she was raised alongside him. Growing up, she felt she had two sets of parents whom adored her deeply. The prince was a brother to her, and their bond to this day is unbreakable.
At age ten, she and the prince started training to become warriors. This was an early age, as training in the kingdom begins at fifteen for all besides royalty. She was a quick and eager learner, she became highly skilled in fighting with the sword, bow and arrow, daggers, and the lance. Within a year, she had surpassed the prince’s abilities, and due to her place within the king and queen’s hearts she was allowed to rise in the ranks despite her young age. At age twelve, the Desert Queen started training her in private sessions. This was an honor, because the queen was the most respected warrior in the kingdom. By thirteen, she had all but become equal in terms of fighting as the queen. By age fifteen, the age when most started their training, she had become a master warrior and was put in charge by the king of training new students. At age seventeen, warriors are sent into the desert to challenge, test, and grow their survival skills. She was paired with the prince, and so the two set off into the desert for the required four months.
The Family Burden
The Desert Prince and Iunia returned from their journey four months later, having completed their desert training. This entailed memorizing a good portion of the desert surrounding their home, learning how to survive the harsh environment, and learning the hard way to sit put for sandstorms. Upon returning, Iunia was horrified to discover her mother having a secret affair. This caused turmoil, and confusion for different parties in the family. Her father didn't understand why she was angry, and her mother was anxious and overbearing as she instructed Iunia not to tell anyone.
The War
War is an ugly thing as Iunia would find out at age nineteen. War had broken out between the Desert Kingdom and the neighboring kingdom, the Kingdom of Illusion. The Kingdom of Illusion, a kingdom of many mages and scholars, had declared claim to the northern desert of The Desert Kingdom. The Desert Queen put Iunia in charge of an army, giving Iunia guidance and supervision. Soon after war was declared the horrible battles began. These fights were life changing for her, as she had never experienced death or true battle before. She struggled with feelings of guilt, fear, and disgust. She was ending lives every day, whether it be through combat or her own instructions and battle plans. A sense of self hatred built in her, as she was mortified by the atrocities she demanded of the army and those that she herself committed. There were heavy losses on both sides, and it sickened her. Eventually, she would snap, and part of her humanity died as the war continued.
The Queen
The war ended five years later, when Iunia was twenty four. She had grown as a warrior, and she could now only be described as fierce, loyal, and cold to all but the prince. After the treaty was signed, the queen and king retired as was custom for the desert. When one reaches sixty years, they pass down the crown. The new king and queen, Iunia and the prince, were appointed. The two had a queerplatonic relationship, and married for appearances. Outside of their marriage, they both had relationships which they communicated to eachother.

Sometime after the coronation, Iunia's father discovered his wife's affair. Blinded by fury, he struck her and her lover down with his ice magic. The two woman were shredded by thin blades of ice, the "other woman" dying outright from the injuries. He left his wife bleeding on the floor. He fled the scene, leaving it for his daughter to find. When Iunia stumbled onto the horrific scene, her almost lifeless mother used the last of her energy to explain what had happened before fading into the afterlife. This was the beginning of the terrible hatred for magic which burned inside Iunia, but it wouldn't be the tipping point.
After her mother's funeral, Iunia hunted down her father. She spent two weeks tracking him, and upon catching up to him she chopped off both his hands and his feet. She then dragged him back home through the desert, with him tied behind her horse. Upon arriving back to the castle, he was locked in a prison cell in the basement for his crimes. She decided it was a better punishment to leave him in isolation for the rest of his life, rather than to kill him.
The Tipping Point

At age twenty five, Iunia had become known as the "Sands Queen", the heir and chosen daughter of the Desert Queen. The prince was now known as the "Spirit King", heir and son of the Sun King.
Iunia's faith in the good of the people was faltering as she struggled to understand and cope with the death of her mother. Was magic acceptable in her kingdom? Or was it a threat that she should eliminate? Did the pain caused by magic outweigh the good? Her mind would be decided one fateful evening when she went to visit her anchor and favored partner, Alanala, a kind and beautiful woman who lived on the outskirts of the kingdom. Upon arrival a horrific scene awaited her; the desecrated remains of the woman she loved. There she lay, in the middle of the living room, having been killed by a mage.
The Hunt
Iunia had declared war on magic, and so the witchhunts began. It was chaos

The Witch
Wrong. The witch is rightfully pissed off, and kills Iunia's men before trapping her at a wide, powerful river. She curses Iunia for declaring war on magic users and for killing the kind soul that was her familiar. She turns Iunia into a doe, like her familiar, but hideous to warn others of the venom in her heart.
