"Everything's changing!"

1/22/2018

After nearly 2 years of vanishing from The Endless Forest, Viola has returned to the magical world from an alternate world she had fallen into in her youth, where she was found by a mother that raised her.
Now an adolescent and returned to the Forest (with some minor deformities caused by world-crossing), she wanders aimlessly searching for company and a purpose in life, now that she is grown and cannot find anyone she once knew.

4/27/2016

Has spent most of the past month keeping herself hidden from others, with her paranoia of the saber-toothed cats having haunted her mind due to frequent nightmares. However, she has begun braving up more, especially due to the fact that she recently discovered buds growing out of her head. Antlers are finally coming in! Spots are still clear as day, though Viola does not mind in the slightest. Just excited to be growing a crown like the grown-ups have!
Spent the day running around, bumping her head against trees. Met a fawn who pelt-spelled her quite a few times, though she had fun with it. Seeing herself in different colors is always quite fascinating. Eventually got dizzy from all the tree head-butting and plopped down by a tree to sleep it off.

3/24/2016

Woke up and trotted through the Forest. She then suddenly saw something she had never seen before; a tree stump. A tree had fallen...no longer standing beside its brethren, no longer reaching towards the sun. She could smell the death as the leaves of the fallen tree were decaying. Felt herself choke up before she rested her chin on the stump of the fallen tree and cried a bit. After calming down, the fawn itched at her scarring wounds from the other day's attack and wandered on, soon meeting a small lady(Varmint). Thought she was very pretty, though she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose at the petite doe's strange scent. Nevertheless, Viola willingly greeted her and leaped around her a bit. After noticing the doe did not share much enthusiasm, however, she calmed down and was pleased to be invited to lay down by her. Before Viola could get comfortable, however, a surprise came by! (Vodka.) Was startled by his appearance at first since her last encounter with felines was not so pleasant, but she was quite relieved and happy when she realized who it was. Nuzzled him and stood back to let him and Vermint greet each other, then finally took a moment to lay with the doe before springing up; running and leaping around Vodka and another that was there (forgot their name gah). Attempted to show off her new flying abilities with not much success. Was eventually invited by Vodka to lay by him and Agni in a sun spot. Hello, old comfy friend.
As expected, Viola fell asleep multiple times while lying there in the warm spot. Woke up at one point to find Agni had gone, though was glad Vodka was still by her side. What a sweet kitty. Wondered if he had seen the sabers that had attacked her the other day, though did not want to disturb the peace so kept quiet about it. Was soon joined by a fawn, danced with them, with Vodka joining in eventually until she got sleepy again and plopped back down by the kitty and fell asleep.

added a charming drawing by Ebony3!
Viola met Array today, and found him to be lovely company. Played around a lot with him and even learned to fly! (glitches<3) Was thrilled by this and also amazed at how Array could do the same. is now confident she can succeed in her dream of helping deliver presents to good little girls and boys. Left his side briefly only to dance with someone (Dorian) on the bridge before seeking him out and plopping by his side in a fairy ring (ring of mushrooms.) Got up soon after he did and was shocked when he turned her into a bat! Flew around a bit and decided to play hide-and-seek in this new form by hiding in a tree, but she didn't seem to be a good hider. Poofed back into a fawn and fell out of the tree, which caused her to cringe at first since you know bruises and scabbing scratch-wounds, but laughed it off to show she was okay, and found amusement in the batty business. Nuzzled Array before settling by the tree she fell out off and drifting off into Nap Time Land.

3/22/2016

Woke up feeling empty and restless, so just ran around the quiet Forest. Found that her heart leaped every time she saw someone, and she found herself hurrying away from sleeping big creatures, as she has become a little paranoid; especially without the company of Matthew to reassure her of safety. Saw a group of fawns playing, but oddly didn't feel like joining in. Not even being spell-casted upon amused her. She simply ignored the spell and plopped down by a tree to go back to sleep.

Later on woke up and wandered around a bit. Stumbled upon something she had never seen before-- a dragon! (Dazenth). She was slightly cautious at first, but was assured he was a nice dragon when he started to leap around, and instant playing happened. After they two engaged in extreme jumpyness, they met a few strangers who were nearby. Was lead away by Dazenth and was invited to lay by him next to his home tree. She was delighted to lay close to him, he was so nice. She really enjoyed his company, as well as his cuddlyness that made her feel all tickly inside. Stood up only to meet and greet Hiroji, who had been chilling nearby with a few others. Almost immediately engaged in play with the fellow youngster before returning to Dazenth's side to rest. Too much playing still bothered her bruises.
Kissies and nuzzles for da sweet cuddle dragon.

3/20/2016

Woke up super duper early compared to usual due to a bad dream related to yesterday's attack. Wandered around a bit, though couldn't help but keep her ears constantly perked and her eyes wandering for any sign of danger, only to settle down a bit when she realized the Forest was quiet and calm, and no threatening scents were in the air. Came to the pond to drink and was happy to see Lupen laying down by someone. Instant nuzzles happened. She was greeted by both of them before she leaped a little with Lupen, though not much since she was exhausted and still sore from the day before, probably even more so now, probably because her energy from yesterday after the event was just her body high on adrenaline born from the attack. Bruises are bullies that way, anyways. Eventually, exhaustion from lack of proper sleep got to her and she found herself continuously laying down and standing back up until finally, after a while of simply basking in Lupen's welcomed company, she plopped herself down by Lupen's side and fell asleep.

Later awoke to the sound of excessive fawn-bellowing. Curiously yet hesitantly, she walked towards the sound to see a huge group of fawns. She was greatly surprised, as she had never seen so many fawns in the same place, before. They did not seem frightened or cautious, so she let her guard down. Was welcomed into their little group and watched them bound and leap together before spell-casting games were played. Eventually however, her soreness got the better of her (and the constant mooing was giving her a headache) so she wandered off and discovered a large patch of tell blue flowers which she hid herself in before falling asleep once again.

3/19/2016

Woke up to a bright new day, and saw two adults conversing nearby (Mathew and AnneLiese). She curiously trotted over to meet them. Was rather curious about the doe's pink hair, and admired the stag's roughly-shapen antlers. After introductions, she was joyful to have them join her in playing, especially Anne with her high, graceful bounds. Was impressed by Anne's leaping skills as they played and tried to copy them, but only managed her usual small, clumsy leaps. Nevertheless, enjoyed herself very much. Eventually, Anne had to leave, though Viola continued to keep close to Mathew, as she was still curious of him and something kept her wanting to keep him company, mostly the desire to not leave him alone since everyone else she saw had someone to play with. Eventually met a fawn with a pretty crown of poppies who played with spells on Viola. This both surprised and amused her at the same time. Eventually, the two ended up spell-chasing each other with masks and antlers, which Viola proudly showed off to Mathew, who she also had the joy of running around with a bit. Also mimicked Mathew's slow, careful walking style multiple times to see how it felt. It made her feel regal in a way, especially since she saw that in him when he walked. After the other fawn vanished, Viola gave Mathew a friendly nuzzle, which seemed to catch him off guard. Even so, Viola continued to keep him company and eventually ended up resting with him. His calm, friendly nature intrigues her.

After a while, she woke up to see two mysterious \\*// beings \\*// standing together at the other end of the Crying Idol's creek. With curiosity leading her, she moved to greet them, though was immediately replied to with aggression. Ran away, though was horrified to realize they were chasing after her. Cried out for help as they caught up and attacked without hesitation. Was relieved when Mathew came to her rescue. Him, along with a other brave adults, managed to fight them off. In the end, Viola was left bruised and badly shaken up from the event. Mathew managed to lead her away where she could calm herself and catch her breath as well as check over her wounds that were thankfully not too bad. She eventually met a trio of tiny fawns and their family. Viola played with them for a bit (though not as enthusiastically as she wanted to) under Mathew's watch. She wished she could leap and run with them but bruises and soreness made playing a little less fun, plus these babies were so tiny and she was worried about hurting them by accident. After a bit of time passed, she noticed Matt walking again, and she followed his careful steps to Rose and her family, where the two stayed for a while. This is where she realized mothers and fathers exist, and it all made her feel a strange longing inside of her. She had never seen family before now, though the experience of spending time with these cute tiny ones helped distract her from her earlier traumatizing experience. Overall felt a bit sad and confused now that she realized the Forest Gods never gave her parents, but did give parents to these tiny ones. She often looked from Rose's family to the other, and bowed her head in her confusing longing. Despite all of the confusion, Matthew's continued presence and support comforted her through it all, and kept her heart and mind mostly at peace. Alas, the memory of the recent attack still slithers into her mind, and she wonders why they attacked her.

3/18/2016

It seems there are rainbows after rain. Had the absolute best day of her life. The Forest, for once in her experience, was so alive and fun. She found a couple playmates almost instantly; one of them being familiar. to her (Lupen) The two soon became many as a few bigger deer (adults) came in to join the fun. Enjoyed playing around and cried with joy as she bounded in circles and danced and leaped with others. Eventually stopped to rest though was sad when Lupen had to leave. However, she could not be sad for too long due to how much fun still bubbled her spirits. Laid down with the other playmate before she spotted Vodka, one of the adults from earlier. Had some magic in her so spelled him, and was confused when he didn't like it, but didn't fuss about it. She was relieved when she was welcomed to lay down next to him and his company (Agni) in a sun spot. Mmmm so warm n' toasty...so....comfyyy....*passes out.*

Later awoke alone in the comfy sun spot and took a run around the Forest. Came upon the Crying Idol where Vodka, Agni and another were chilling out. Plopped down by Vodka happily, though was full of energy from her long nap so got up and scurried off probably before the group of adults could notice her presence.

During her frolicking frenzy, Viola heard repeated bellowing of another fawn. She curiously followed it and ended up in the ruins, which she cautiously yet curiously ventured through until she spotted a fawn stuck in a cage. She was greatly confused by the sight, though managed to get the other fawn unstuck. Was happy to see they were okay and hey, we both have flower crowns! Let's be friends!
Leaped and ran around with her new company and raced them to the lake, where they played with magic a bit before the other ran off, somewhere.

Got tired again afterward and went off to go back to sleep.

3/17/2016

Ran through the forest, alone. Again got heads turning the other way at her approach, but just felt too frustrated to cry about it this time. Instead kept on running and pretending she was racing the wind to distract herself from the fact everyone in the Forest is either sleeping, unwilling to play, or guarding someone else. Is starting to believe the "lively" Forest the Twin Gods placed her in is not as lively as they had promised. Saw no other fawns today either, which was a little unsettling.

3/15/2016

The day started okay, though she woke up later than usual. Being too young to care about such things, she romped around looking for some company. Has been feeling a bit lonesome lately with no family or friends to turn to. Ran around by herself and tried greeting anyone she could come across, though most deer she found were either sleeping or deliberately turned their heads away from her and ignored her presence. This awakened a new, sharp and tense feeling in her throat and chest. She retreated to the shade of some trees and rested her chin upon the grass as water escaped her eyes. It was her first time crying, so she was confused about it all. Even so, she felt both relieved and tired after it was all over, and she silently fell asleep.

3/12/2016

Woke up feeling full of energy and immediately set off in search of others to play with. Came across a duo of fawns who let her join in their games of leaping and running and using Forest Magic. Eventually got separated from them as a red deer caught her attention. She played with them briefly before more Forest Magic games were played, but this time giving her racks instead of masks. It was strange having heavy objects on her head, but her company seemed amused so reckoned it wasn't a bad thing. Eventually got a crown of peacock feathers that proved to her liking, and she danced around in them before they fell off and vanished. Will be happy when the day comes where she can get a rack or mask without it falling off of her still-too-young-to-wear-anything-but-flowers head. She eventually rediscovered the duo from earlier resting by a tree, and she plopped herself down by them before falling asleep.

Awoke later in the day and had some brief yet pleasant interactions with some friendly grown-ups. Eventually got her attention caught by someone very interesting. Viola was caught off guard by their distant nature and confusion as she playfully leaped around them, but was persistent and followed after the feline(?) when they ran off. Eventually found them after following their scent and got to sit by the big kitty. Felt quite proud of herself for having made a new friend (or so she thinks). Kept close to their new company until she finally fell asleep.

Woke up alone and wandered through the forest before coming across a stag who seemed nice enough. She was amused when she saw him decorate his antlers with flowers similar to the ones she wears. Was greeted by him and he frolicked with her in the purple flowers before they both settled down among the blossoms and fell asleep.

3/11/2016

Awoke for the first time. The world was blindingly bright at first, but then it became big and colorful as her eyes adjusted. Almost instantly, she found herself running through the Forest; taking in all the sights, sounds and smells that she could as she strengthened her legs. She met another of her size and experienced Forest magic with them. Was given many masks, but they all fell off of her in time. Guessed she wasn't big enough to keep them on, yet. Went leaping and running with them until they were eventually separated.

Later on, as Viola was running about once more, she came across an antlered deer with an owl-like pelt. She admired their colors. Leaped and played with them for a while, and ran into them multiple times throughout the day; all of them pleasant interactions. Through many play times, Viola became attached, though unfortunately they became separated and the fawn could not find their antlered company, no matter how long they looked. Eventually gave up the search and sulked for a bit, missing them and wishing they had learned enough to know they could meet them, again.

Had a few more interactions until she came across a confusing moment where someone kept running away from her. Eventually gave up gaining their attention when the stranger retreated to the company of someone who looked big and scary to Viola, and she ran off to be by herself. Was quickly cheered up when she came across a smaller fawn and a stag who let her sit with them by the lake. Stayed with them for a while before saying goodbye and running off to find a soft patch of grass or flowers to fall asleep.

Genesis:
The Forest gods took the wandering soul of a child that had passed before its time and gave it a second chance in their world, the Endless Forest, where the child would live and grow under their watch and care.

Being born of no mother or father, the gods of the Endless Forest placed their fawn into the world with a body past the development of newborn to assure higher survival chances, but the child is still young and small enough to have a lot of growing to do.

Having awoken for the first time in a patch of violet flowers, the forest gods named her Viola, and whispered her name to her in her dreams right before awakening for the first time into the Forest. They also blessed her with eyes that matched the flowers she was born onto. This reflects the child's soul: bright, curious, longing and ever blooming.

Viola was brought into the world with an innocent, open heart and mind, as well as a strong desire to explore and learn. Through her experiences, she learned that the Forest has its silent, gloomy days and its sunny, bright and fun days. She has also learned there are ups and down to both the Forest and herself.

HEART

She is currently curious of...
Hiroji, who she finds to be a kind and playful soul, hopes to meet again soon...
Agni, who she has not interacted with, but has seen with Vodka. She is fascinated by his facial hair and antlers/horns (she has never seen a mustache before...kinda wants one, now.)...
AnneLiese, who she finds is quite pretty and a talented leaper, as well as an enjoyable playmate that she hopes to meet again...

She currently admires...
Mathew, who has earned her eternal gratitude and trust after saving her. She has gotten more support and comfort from him than anyone else in the time she has spent with him so far. Viola will more likely than not seek him out and long for his company.

She is currently quite fond of...
Vodka, who is the only so far exception to Viola's newly found caution of big kitties. Loves his fluff and adores the sun spots he leads her to. A source of comfort, and a lovely playmate...
Array; a joyful playmate, pleasant company, and flying partner. The one with the epic horns...
Dazenth, who she finds to be a sweet cuddlebug and enjoyable playmate. Hopes to snuggle with more...
Lupen, who she finds to be a pleasant company and playmate. Always a pleasure to meet...

She currently hopes never to run into...
Insum, who she fears along with his partner. He and Parvu were her first experience with danger, harm and injury, and therefore she is terrified of them. Scarred by them both physically and mentally. Hopes to never run into them again or anyone like them, and will now be much more cautious because to them, especially towards fluffy things with long, sharp teeth.

Traveling between worlds was

Traveling between worlds was difficult, but Haroten was getting better at doing it by herself, even while holding a small branch heavy with crabapple blossoms in her mouth. She stepped a bit uneasily from the portal and released it once her long tail was through. She squinted in the bright light and looked around at the familiar Forest. Nothing had really changed from what she could see, but before she left for her little trip to the worlds outside of the Forest, she’d noticed that there were less and less fawns appearing with their parents. Now she didn’t see much of anybody besides a small cluster of sleeping deer.

It was a puzzle, really. Where did all those fawns come from? She grunted a bit in frustration and began trotting in a random direction to distract herself from wondering. Birches gave way to maples and conifers as she progressed--she guessed from her recent knowledge of trees that the cone-producing trees here were umbrella pines. Most other pines had a short, pleasing shape with their bristly needled branches low to the ground, but here even the tallest Forest resident could rub on a tall trunk and shake off many pine cones. Her increasing knowledge of plants, thanks to her mother, made her feel a bit better and soon she was nearly galloping toward the Pond. She lifted her hooves higher off the ground, raised her tail, and threw back her hair as she’d seen some stags do during the Rut. Passing the crying idol and its poppies, she lowered her head and whipped her single horn through them and sent a spray of poppy and crabapple petals dancing around. The poppies were imagined rivals in the Rut and she was fearless before their many tines and rolling eyes. Haroten reared and kicked at the imaginary rivals, conquering them easily, and she was now on the high ridge of the Pond when--

The yearling unicorn came to a very messy halt. A small fawn, possibly too small to play with very rough, was drinking calmly from the cool waters. Haroten smirked confidently to herself and dropped the crabapple branch. For a few moments she stood still, watching the fawn below, and then suddenly she let out a sharp little whinnying-cry. She tossed her head to shake out her thick red-ombre curls and then stood there with a forehoof raised, waiting to be noticed.

Viola had been much too distracted by the cool, refreshing sensation that came with drinking from the pond to notice another life was close by. Everything was simply serene. Suddenly, however, her ears shot up to the sound of something unfamiliar but loud and startling. An equally loud, alarmed bleat escaped the parted jaws of the fawn in response. She quickly jerked her head from the water and stumbled back in a clumsy attempt to prepare for flight, and her fur puffed out all around her as each strand stood on end. Ever since the attack of the sabers, Viola preferred not to take chances with whatever caused her heart to pick up its pace. However, just as she steadied her footing, her eyes caught sight of another; most likely the source of the noise. Perhaps at that moment, someone else would become quite cross with having been startled like that, but Viola just couldn’t help but laugh as she noticed their pose.
“I thought you were a gonna attack me!” She exclaimed with an amused grin, but then her expression eased into one of awe, as she realized the beauty of the other; their colors, simple yet pleasing to the eye. And that horn...she had never seen anyone with a single horn before, and perfectly placed in the middle of their forehead! Even when it came to the Endless Forest, her appearance seemed somewhat otherworldly in her eyes.
“Whoa…You're beautiful...!” Viola breathed; her fur relaxing back against her body.

Oh my gosh, Vi is so cute..

Oh my gosh, Vi is so cute.. *turns into a puddle*
That's right.. love my characters. Love them!
One of my superpowers is accidentally reminding people to do things. Glad I could be of service ;>
--
The startled response from her peer drew a surprise burst of laughter from the cocky yearling. That little bleat really tickled her funnybone, and when the fawn turned and laughed, too, she couldn’t help but keep on laughing.
“Attack you?” The little whinny from just moments ago now seemed out of place; her voice was husky yet still held a few child-like notes to it, though a few pre-pubescent breaks and cracks were beginning to become present. “Why would I..”

But she wasn’t able to finish her sentence before the fawn exclaimed. It was apparent that she was floundering for a way to react by the very brief dumbfounded look that was quickly replaced with a practiced look of confidence. “Everybody is beautiful!” (She’d taken that quote from her mom) “But hey, watch this,” She turned quickly away from the fawn, flicking her tail playfully at her, and trotted up to the highest point of the ridge around the Pond. Once at a satisfactory height, she stopped and peered over the edge. It was apparent that she was going to attempt to throw herself into the water, not an unusual feat to be seen in the Forest, but it was one that she hadn’t tried before.

“Are you watching?” She waited to see if her peer was going to follow her to the top or from the shallows.

Viola couldn't help but huff in amusement at the other's response to her compliment. That had been a new one. Usually most others would say "Thank you," or something along those lines. Perhaps this one was a little more modest...but they seemed quite perky and confident. This was definitely an interesting character, and this seemed to only perk Viola's interest. She watched as the other turned away, and her head tilted at the sight of her trot. The bouncy look of the movement made Viola hold back a chuckle, and she it urged her to follow. Attempting to mimick the other youngster's trotting, Viola attempted to keep up with them up the ridge, though paused some hoof-steps away when she noticed her company peering over the edge. Her attention was briefly stolen by the water, below. She watched as it glistened from the light of the sky above their heads. However, Viola snapped back into alertness when asked if she was watching. Turning her head up to face the unicorn, she offered a nod in response.
"I am!" She replied; tail wagging behind her.

REPLIES SIX DAYS LATER
--

Haroten felt quite full of herself just then. Although her audience consisted of only one individual, she couldn’t have asked for a more attentive or consistently adorable audience to witness her grand feat of courage. When she peered below at the water, that very same courage left her. There were just koi in the Pond, right? No scary things that could eat her bones? She’d learned recently about bones (from her mother) and she’d been worried off and on about damaging her own. Right now, she was a little worried. When Haroten turned to look at Viola, she saw a face beaming with enthusiasm and a wiggly little tail. She smiled with appreciation.

“Waa-atch this!” Her mane danced as she shook herself in a full-body shiver before trotting a short distance away from the Pond. Legs halted and locked into place as she prepared herself. Her bones wouldn’t break. She was going to do something amazing and this fawn was going to love seeing her trick. Maybe she’d get a new friend. A giddy feeling of nervous excitement fluttered in her stomach as she lifted her hooves and ran toward the lip of the Pond.

The yearling’s legs were a blur as she galloped on by, the taller grass whistling softly as it brushed her flank and her mane of hair flew straight behind her. Right before she gathered her hooves onto the edge to push herself off, she opened her mouth and let out a wild yell that ended in a squealing scream as she plummeted faster than she expected.

Haroten managed to spectacularly bellyflop into the water.
