(more)Shenanigans- UPDATE

1/20

Just so people don't think I'm being a jerk... if you come up to my deer and we just stand there doing nothing or suddenly vanish, its because our computer is evil and/or the game is glitching and I have to shut down completely. I'll press action buttons and nothing will happen or I'll end up just zooming off in some random direction, and when the game glitches, it means business; I can't do anything except shut down by closing the laptop lid... so good for an already screwed up computer. >< This has happened multiple times to Krystal, Sluggs and groups I've been with, as well as some new acquaintances and fawns. I'm not ignoring or avoiding you, or being a general ass xD Please find me again and maybe we can hang out more this time around x)

*Older "posts" here will be made into comments as well, just so I can put new stuff on the 'front page' so to speak, without this becoming a ridiculously long post or having to delete anything. So that's why stuff you've already seen will randomly show up in the comments xD

1/16

We found you again! We'd like to know who you are, so we can get to know you better.

There were also a few deer who had the (dis)pleasure of meeting Howl... we hope to meet you again in um, better spirits?
(dies of cheesiness)

This may also become an interaction blog, since I seem so bent on posting photos and in-forest stuff here. My inital plan was to give each personality its own page and use those as interactive blogs for each individual... and that will all probably still happen... but this is here now, so there ya go.

*pokes you all*

Turning once again to the talent on this site, to ask if anyone would be interested in drawing Sionnach- and his many 'spirits' more specifcally. I'm a poor drawer, and I'd love to see what someone else can do with him! Its always cool to view your ideas brought to life by another person. Anyone interested?

I hate to mooch, and I can't draw, so the best thing I can come up with to return the favor is to make you something! If you like this idea let me know. I'll refer you to a post I made before Christmas as an idea of what I can make for you: Shameless plug! Beaded bracelets and earrings, leather pouches(beaded and non), dreamcatchers, necklaces, etc. If there's something else you want, or a certain thing made differently, let me know. I can also get teeth, claws, legal feathers from birds other than parrots/crows and beautiful, realistic fake eagle/hawk feathers. I can put an antler tip on anything. Its the least I can do after people take the time to do something for me.

For reference to Sionnach's other personalities and inspiration for them, you can always see their bio, linked in my sig. This is what I've come up with in my head for their appearances, and its open to change and interpretation as you see them.

Sionnach- as is, more or less; both Shaku and Unplugged have taken to drawing Sionnach prior to this post, but if anyone else wants to, feel free!

Bairn- fawn, no mask, smaller or no antlers, shy, childlike(happy, innocent) appearance

The buck- whole set as-is, brighter/shinier pelt, brimming with confidence, pride and happiness, very playful looking

Howl- interpret however you want. Even I don't know how to. The basic message is it has no gender, doesn't believe it is a deer(and isn't sure what it actually is), and is completely insane.

One body, many souls | Sionnach

We are many inside one...
Do you hear us?

[center]Trouble followed Sionnach into the world. His mother was lost too early, whether to predators or abandonment he'll never know. Wandering alone and barely escaping death, he found himself at the mercy of humans, beings he had always been warned about. Luckily they were indeed merciful and cared for him, but they too turned him off to the woods after time. Finding the endless forest was little short of a miracle... a place with no predators or people, just deer... maybe even his mother... and his hope kept alive in him that he'd find her, or at least a guiding figure in this odd, but wonderful place. His hope wore on him, until slowly it faded.
And faded.
And died.

Among other circumstances in his path so far in the world, he wonders to himselves if they are there because of this history, or if he was simply born this way.

Even as a fawn, Sionnach was aware that somehow, other deer were inside him- he couldn't make sense of it then, and was often terrified of being haunted by numerous strange, sometimes malevolent ghosts... but he slowly grew to understand as he grew himself. He refers to these other beings as spirits, for they inhabit his body together rather than having physical forms of their own. They are parts of him, and wholly different entities at the same time. Occasionally he spies a deer, in the corner of his eye... but as he gets closer realizes there is no deer there at all. He often skids to a halt when he runs, hearing the pounding of many more hooves than his own, glancing around to find no one there. It is difficult for him to co-exist with his spirits and their many minds and thoughts and confusing projections only he can sense that disappear as he becomes aware of them...

CSS help/tips

I'd like to do something with my bio page, but I'm about as computer literate as a drunk lemur. A lot of people here are ridiculously talented when it comes to coding their pages... if any, what sites did you use to learn CSS? What tips do you have? Can you help me out with learning/making up my page? Thanks again x) I know I ask a ridiculous amount of questions around here, but you've all been helpful in the past, so I thought I'd bug you all one more time!

One more annoying question(just one, I swears)

Sorry I keep bugging everyone today. Its the first day I've been able to actually get online in a good while, and even with a steady connection I can't get logged into a lot of stuff(like TEF), ugh. But I succeeded for a little while earlier, and discovered my fawn is now a stag O_O Its been that long, hehehe. Now I'm looking for a set, and would love some help if anyone can lend it...

I'm looking for the Noh pelt, candle antlers, and skull mask(overused, but I can't think of anything else right now!! Bound to change soon, I'm sure). I'll be in the forest in a tic- I'll wait to see if anyone responds since I can't run it in a window on this laptop for some reason. This is my picto. Thanks a ton!!

Pelt/mask/antlers list?

Just curious, is there a list or directory of all the different masks, pelts and antlers you can get in TEF anywhere?

Shameless plug/christmas gifts!

I've always liked crafting, and I'm 1/8 Ojibwe, and I learned from friends and elders about a variety of traditional crafts and making them. I'm only good at a handful, hehe, but nonetheless! I planned on starting a store on Etsy earlier this year and made a bunch of stuff in preparation, but that never happened and probably never will xD I'd still like to see this stuff go off to people that like these kinds of things... and I figured maybe some of them were here!

I make: Dreamcatchers(Ojibwe were the original creators), beaded bracelets, earrings, leather pouches(beaded and non), necklaces, etc. A few of the dreamcatchers/pouches/necklaces have antler tips on them, for those who are especially fond of deer or work with deer as a totem in any practice. Its a nice personal connection Smiling Pictures are below.

Details/humane statement: Most of the dreamcatchers have parrot or crow feathers. A friend of mine owns an exotic bird store and collects shed feathers for me, and I get the crow feathers myself in the woods. Some also have "eagle" feathers- they're duck feathers from another friend with pet ducks. All of them are sanitized. Some pouches or dreamcatchers have buffalo teeth or antlers on them- I collect shed antlers and take the tips off myself, and the teeth come from a humane source. The chokers are natural bone/horn- no plastic!

I tried to be fair with pricing... I hate bringing money into any equation, but poor college kid here Sticking out tongue If you like something but the price is off, I'll work with you, and I'll gladly trade Smiling

Dreamcatchers: Small catcher(pictured)- $10. Big catcher(twice the size)- $16

Pouches: antler/tooth pouch- $8; cross pouch- $6; Beaded bag- $20. There are also plain ones.

Not alone here

"The forest is your family, little one," The wind whispered in the fawn's ear as he laid beside newfound friends. "You are never alone here, as the elders walk with you and the young ones play. The spirits will always move with you, guiding you in a good way. Though not related by blood, we are related by soul. We are a family."

Sionnach felt a warm familiarity that been gone for too long to the little deer, and he looked around at his current companions with new eyes.

Random snippet that ran through my head that I felt like writing down Smiling

Some of these are from earlier this morning/yesterday... I had fun with the 3 of you in pic #2, and you as well, little fawn in the bottom photo. Hopefully I meet you all again and learn who you are! Smiling

Seeing if this shows up...

Is anyone else having problems getting a new post to show up, or updated posts to head to the first page? Nothing I'm updating is showing up, and I tried to make a new post earlier that just never appeared... anyone else experiencing this? Just curious...

First Snow(~short story)

The tiny fawn woke to cold breezes across his fur, and blinking the sleep from his eyes, saw white crystals decorating the forest around him. It was snowing in the forest, the first of many as winter came closer and closer... but unlike most fawn, the sight didn't excite him. Instead he sighed, heaving himself upward, and started off in search of a drier place to sleep til the snow passed on.

This was the first snow Sionnach had seen since his mother had gone... the season didn't hold pleasant memories for him, though he did remember the human family that saved him with fondness. Even they had left him though, in the middle of the woods to wander off on his own once he was old enough. He understood, in a way... humans and deer were not meant to be friends. And besides, he still had to find his mother. She had to be out there somewhere, and had to be looking for him too. It was the only option he'd accept of the many things that could have happened that night. She had just gotten lost, and he wandered off in search of her before she found her way back. It had to be possible, right?

As he walked, he looked around him... he saw young ones surrounded by their elders, or followed closely by their parents while they ran through the woods, jumping and playing in the snow. Were his really gone forever? He had no one to call his in the whole forest?

Unusually tired and pensive, Sionnach finally sat beneath an old oak, protected from the weather by its giant form. He watched a group of fawns bounding around the stones and between the trees, elder deer sitting or sleeping nearby to see to it that play-sparring stayed that way. Normally the temptation to join them would be impossible to ignore... but as he curled up beneath his sole guardian's massive branches, he decided all he wanted was for the snow to stop.

Story that popped in my head when I saw it was snowing in the forest. Sorry if its not too great. o_o
