Blue didn't feel any pain. She didn't feel the blood fall down her back. She didn't moo in pain or tried to heal her wounds.

Because she simply didn't care.

All her life Blue had been misunderstood. Deer of The Endless Forest tried to chase her away, and although the forest was indeed endless, there was a way that Blue did not know that would lead you out of the forest.

They chased her because they believed she was a demon from hell. When Blue was born, and she first opened her eyes, they were blood red. The deer believed when a fawn was born with red eyes, they are demon spies from hell that were on a mission to destroy the world. Blue did not believe this. She was not a demon from hell.

But, if she couldn't be chased out of the forest, she would be beaten, and the blood would fall down her back. She would cry in pain and run away, leaving a blood trail behind. The deer would follow the trail and beat her some more until she is almost dead.

But now Blue didn't care. She wanted to die if she would be treated like this. And now was her chance.

Earlier that day, she had been attacked by a herd of some mini deer. They jumped up and with their antlers, they pierced her back. The mini herd then ran away, but Blue did not cry in pain. She did not run away. She just walked and walked.

Blue lied down in some tall grass. The grass become blood stained and smelt of Blue's blood. Slowly, she closed her eyes and fell asleep, hoping that she would die in her sleep.

Peppers, who was traveling

Peppers, who was traveling close to where Blue was laying down, was alarmed to find blood in the air. Her fur prickled. She hated it when other deer were hurt. She cautiously followed the scent trail to a bloody doe.

Alarmed Peppers froze. "h - ... hello?" She stammered. Was this deer even alive? She saw the shallow breathing and felt a little more comfortable. She took a step forward. "You poor deer!" She exclaimed. "What happened to you?"

Blue woke from her sleep. She

Blue woke from her sleep. She closed her eyes tightly, expecting the deer to change her attitude and start stomping on her, telling her to go back to hell. After a few minutes, Blue could see this deer was different.

Or maybe he had not heard about the demon deer.

Blue slowly got up and looked at Peppers with her blood red eyes.

Peppers looked at Blue's eyes. "What an interesting color eyes you had." She said, a bit taken back. She returned her gaze to Blue's body. "Please sit down." Peppers said. "Let me clean your wounds, please." Peppers said coming closer to the doe.

The Old Stag had taken over

The Old Stag had taken over Sionnach, putting out the candles in his antlers, his fur turning a dull, dark color, and his eyes a hateful, boodshot red. He gazed around the forest with malice, prepared to charge off whoever got in his way. Not that anyone would come near him at all, he felt. He was reviled in the forest as a violent, dark force. Somewhere in the back of his mind, a voice that was not his own cried out. You misunderstand them, like they misunderstand you, it said. There are others in us, and they are loved! When you come out, only then are we feared! What could that possibly mean? What others? Was his own mind turning against him? He couldn't be going crazy...

As he walked, lost in his twisted thoughts, he saw in the distance a bloodied doe, tended to by another. Something about the doe intrigued him, a rarity that shocked him when he realized he kept staring. What had happened? Who attacks a doe? Even he had more class than that. It was then that he saw her red eyes, and understood. They think she is a demon, he thought bitterly. That makes it okay to senselessly attack her in their eyes. Pitiful deer and their prejudice and fear. He felt rage well inside him, and, bizarrely, compassion for her. He refused to get too close, convincing himself he didn't care and suddenly becoming wary of her companion, but he found his feet had thoughts of their own, and he was now only feet away from her, her back thankfully turned to him. With any luck she wouldn't see him, and her friend would be too busy to notice...

Sorry its long. I figured I'd set up the character, in case you've never met Sionnach, and I can get carried away. o_o

(It's okay! XD Moon Theif

(It's okay! XD Moon Theif would LOVE to meet your deer!! XD They're so identicle it would be funny to see them fight!!)

Peppers flicked her ears behind her, did she hear something? Peppers continued to wash the doe before she heard something again. She stopped cleaning and heard a crack in the grass. She jumped up. Who was making all that racket!? She turned around and saw a stag. She took a step back. "Who are you?" She asked hesitantly.

She then remembered the doe and jumped to be infront of the doe incase if the stag was hostile. "What do you want?"
bigcrow's picture

(oooh, that's gotta happen

(oooh, that's gotta happen now xD Moon Thief and the Stag are very similar. There are many sides to Sionnach... it'd be really interesting if anyone else came out!)

Suddenly faced by the strange doe, he sighed. Why did he have to get involved in this...
"I have no name. I saw blood on the ground. You're near my home," he gestured to the old oak tree, several yards away. He had taken it upon himself to label it his. It was one of few places he felt calm, and his mind was quieted. So it was his. To hell with anyone else. "If deer see blood they'll think I did something," he sneered. Resisting the urge to get any information out of the other doe before trying to get away, he simply huffed, "just get her out of here, and soon," hiding his strange interest in the injured doe behind his typical apathy and anger towards the forest residents. He never cared about anyone, why should he start now?

Peppers felt anger bundle up

Peppers felt anger bundle up inside her. "You get out of here! I'm helping an injured doe and what are you doing? You're just standing around complaining about how were on your 'property'!" She turned her back on him and continued on cleaning Blue.

The stag simply snorted at

The stag simply snorted at her and walked off, but not straying too far, walking around and picking at plants and herbs as he found them, ignoring the occasional glare from the bold doe. Walking to the river with a hefty combination of plants in his mouth, the stag wet them in the water and returned to the does. Stamping on the plants til they turned to a paste, he gestured to her, grunting "It helps the pain and heals wounds quickly. Put it on her and then get out of here."

Peppers looked at the plants

Peppers looked at the plants and then looked at him. She held her snarl but gave him a smirk. "If it were my choice, I wouldn't use those." She said firmly. She bent down and grabbed the plants and and made them into a mush and put them onto Blue's wounds.

"And don't you think just because you gave us those plants makes me think anything else kind of you!" Peppers said to the stag biting her snarl once more. "Stags like you make me want to lose my temper, but I don't want to give you the plessure." She said tossing her hairlike peacock feathers behind her with a hmph to make him annoyed.

The whole time Blue was

The whole time Blue was silent, staring at the buck. Blue's blue fur had been covered in wounds, cuts, scars, and blood, but thankfully the two deer had given her beautiful blue fur. The wounds would heal in only a few days.

Why weren't the deer attacking? Blue didn't stray on this thought for long. Simply, she thought, they don't know about the cursed doe. And I shouldn't tell them about it if we want to be friends.

The plants were helping Blue. Slowly, she looked at the unnamed buck. "Thank you." Blue whispered, for she could not talk any louder due to her injuries.

The old stag didn't respond

The old stag didn't respond to the injured deer, but simply nodded. Red eyes were a signal of demonic entities... this was something else altogether though. For one thing, demons don't thank you. They're not so timid, and they certainly don't lose fights like this sad sight clearly had. What the hell was she then?

He turned his attention to her companion again though, and smirked. "Ah, but you already have. How fun for me when you lot try to take the high road and fail. Now, tell me," he fixed his gaze on the standing doe, "Who are you? Why aren't you being stupid like the rest of them and running from her? Or, for that fact, me? And," he turned to the injured doe once more, "Who... are you?"

"I am Peppers and I would

"I am Peppers and I would never turn down a harmless doe when she's been injured." Peppers said sitting down beside Blue. "That would be like turning down a fawn in need, it's an unthinkable thing to do." She looked at the stag. " And by taking a responsibility on caring for this doe I would guard her with my life."
bigcrow's picture

"Well, aren't you noble,"

"Well, aren't you noble," sarcasm lined his voice. "I'm not going to do anything to her, so you can stop being her little gaurd dog. But, I want to know something else," and he grinned at the still silent blue doe, staring at him as if she knew what he was going to say, and quietly pleading him to stop. "Do you know why she was attacked? Are you blind? Take a good look at her eyes. have you never heard the stories?"

Peppers sighed, trying to

Peppers sighed, trying to calm herself down. This was so unlike her to be so snappy. She looked at Blue's eyes. "They're red ... so what?" Peppers looked back at the stag, with a confused look.

The stag gave a dry, humorless chuckle. "And I thought that paranoia had spread everywhere by now. Our silent little friend here wasn't just randomly beaten within an inch of her life for fun. Everyone's terrified of her. And why would anyone be fearful of this little twig?" he stretched his neck out, peering at her from behind the mask with his own bloody red eyes. "The legend goes that there are agents of hell in this forest, and beyond... Evil, remorseless beings whose sole mission is to destroy. And their tell-tale mark is bright red eyes."

Peppers snorted. "And were

Peppers snorted. "And were supposed to believe that junk?" she said. "I don't give a toad about what the old legends say." She walked over to Blue and smelled different deer on her pelt. "Although what I want to believe is different from everyone eleses." She murmured.

"And if you think i'm a demon," she said, "how do you like THIS?!" Blue reared up and pounded on the buck's back. Then Blue bit hard on his shoulder, and didn't let go until a few seconds, then she bucked him on the side.
"Now you know how it feels!" Blue mooed, and ran away crying.

The ragged buck was

The ragged buck was surprised, to say the least. She had drawn blood with her bite, and nearly threw him off-balance with that hit in the side. Such a puny thing was so strong... maybe she did have a little demon in her. The attack had given her a few points in his book, anyway.

"Oh, little deer, I've known how it feels for a long time now," he muttered more to himself than Peppers or the blue doe as she ran off, though not getting far with her wounds. His scars were faded but still there, a thick, dark line running from his neck to his haunches, branching out along the way down to his shoulders, sides and hips. The dark brown of the scars almost matched the dark orange-red of his pelt, creating, in a fit of irony, an almost pretty appearance. He couldn't even remember how he got some of them... they just seemed to appear. He suddenly felt a lighter, but sadder change come over him... how is this happening? What's wrong with me?

"Well then, Peppers, it seems you are not of this forest then. I hope you stay that way. Don't give in to their superstitions and rumors. Their lies." His posture and expression remained stoic, but there was a hint of sadness in his voice. He felt like he was going to say more, but he was so tired... exhausted... he was still standing, but how? It almost felt as if he were being dragged down into darkness... into sleep... and something else was rising...

Peppers stared at the stag,

Peppers stared at the stag, with sadness and empathy. He seemed so exhausted and less hostile right now. "Why don't your rest?" Peppers asked. "I'll go fetch Blue and calm her." And with that, Peppers set off towards Blue in a full gallop until stumbling upon her.

"Blue," Peppers said, "What's wrong?"

Blue dipped her head down and sipped the cool water. The Crying Idol calmed her, and so did the moon's waving reflection in the water. A few tears rolled down her cheek. The calmness stopped when she heard a voice.

"Blue, what's wrong?"

Blue turned around and saw Peppers staring at her.

"I just can't take it anymore," she said. Her voice was weak and shaky. "I am so sick of deer beating me and telling me to go back to hell. There are many differences between me and a demon." Blue paused, shivering, and looked at the moon's reflection again.

"I am a normal deer. I don't know why this is happening." Blue closed her eyes, then opened them. She didn't know what to say now. She waited for Peppers to reply, half expecting him to beat her until she was dead.

For if Blue was beat now, with her injuries, she surely would be dead.

Peppers sighed, and felt great pity for Blue. She walked up beside her and sat down. "I don't think you're a demon." She said comfortingly. "I never did."

Peppers looked up at the moon. "I don't really understand some deer. If you were a demon, you would've faught back or something. They should've realized that." Peppers now felt frustration. "Those heartless idiots." She cursed.

Sionnach's fur brightened up

Sionnach's fur brightened up again, softening, and by magic his candles were lit once more. His eyes were no longer the cold red, but had turned a warm brown. Bairn was out, confused that he was up at night. Shouldn't he be sleeping? What was he doing out here? He looked around, happy that at least he wasn't far from the oak. He liked the oak... so big and pretty, with that big cavern you can sleep in. He didn't know why more deer didn't join him in there... its some of the only shelter in the forest, and the company would be nice anyway. He was about to turn and head back when he slipped on something wet. Smelling the air and bending down to look, he jumped when he concluded it was blood. Was it his? He didn't feel hurt... whose was it? He suddenly became very scared. Was something attacking the deer? He was just a little fawn, and he was all alone... what if it came after him? He was terrified, but in a surge of bravery, he decided to at least try to find the hurt deer, maybe try to help them somehow... and so he set out, following the drops of blood here and there in the moonlight...

Sionnach has MPD and about 5 known personalities, this one of which thinks its still a fawn. He isn't actually a fawn and looks the same as the old stag(except for the brighter pelt, etc.) Just saying so this doesn't sound weird xD

"I don't understand other deer, either." replied Blue. She agreed, if she were a demon or devil or mutant or whatever the deer would believe she was next, she would of fought back.

Then it snapped.

Blue hurt the poor stag. She didn't mean too. Her mind was just being controlled by her anger.... which suddenly she realized was the demon inside her.

She was a demon. A devil. An agent from hell.

Blue could hurt anyone. The hell inside her controlled her. Blue could even hurt Peppers...

NOTE: Blue is not literally a demon. She just thinks she is because she feels the guilt of hurting that deer.

"I think... I will." Blue shook her head to wipe off all her tears, and walked back to the Old Oak, where she would think the deer was. The Oak was not far from the Crying Idol, so the two got there in no time.

The buck was not there.

"Um.. hello? Are you here?" Blue said. No answer.
"I'm... here to apologize for everything. I was just... angry."

Blue could only hope the buck listened. For no one has ever listened to her.

Bairn was confused as he

Bairn was confused as he turned back around towards the oak tree. Just the hoofprints of two deer were his guides, and they'd led him to the river... and then back around. Were they going to the tree too? Maybe he'd at least be safe with these older deer... in his excitement he hadn't noticed the odd bite wound on his shoulder, and the pain in his side... he was suddenly terrified that he'd already been targeted by the monster in the forest, and ran to the oak as fast as he could. He froze in his tracks when he saw two does at the tree, one of them talking... to who? Not the other one, who was behind her... he cautiously padded up to the two, his voice high and shaky.

"Who are you talking to?" He whispered to the blue doe, tilting his head. He noticed she was pretty scraped up, too. She was the one he was looking for! "Hey, did you get hurt by the monster too? I think there's a monster here... and he got me... we have to hide!" he suddenly became panicky, and the large stag before them seemed more childlike than ever. "The oak is a good place to hide... and... can, um... can I stay with you?"

Peppers fur prickled and felt

Peppers fur prickled and felt shocked. "What're you talking about?" Peppers asked quickly. "You know what had happened."

She looked at the stag's coat and it seemed now lighter, but the same scent of the other hostile stag. Peppers peered at the stag. "Of course you can stay with us, but, er-- what happened to you?" peppers observed. "Your coat's a different color from the last we've met."

The buck looked dumbfounded.

The buck looked dumbfounded. "My coat? Its the same as always... I think." He heard that a lot. Why? He didn't think it looked any different, checking himself. Then he remembered the rest of the doe's questions. "What do I know about? What happened? I don't think I ever saw you before..." he gave a small bow to the does. "I'm Bairn," he said, walking close to the does til he barely avoiding touching them.

Peppers hesitated and took a step back not liking being so close with stags she didn't know. "I thought you said you didn't have a name, or something like that." she looked at the stag in confusion. "We just met. Remember, you got those plants for Blue's wounds?" Peppers asked.

"Of course I have a name! Humans gave it to me when they rescued me... its still a name though. But what plants? Who is Blue? Her?" Bairn asked, looking towards the hurt doe. He mirrored their confusion, shaking his head a little as if to clear it. They'd never met before... why were they so sure they had? Then he heard Blue speak... "Yeah, and remember when I attacked you?"

Bairn froze, pure terror taking over him. She attacked him? He was just a fawn, what did he do to deserve that cruelty? His eyes widened and filled with tears. Was she the monster he was running from, trying to protect them from? "You did that to me? Why? What did I ever do to you?" The buck backed away from them slowly as he spoke, before running away into the cavern of the oak.

Peppers was confused, why was he actin like this? Peppers walked up the entranc of the oak. " um ... Barin? Please stop with the act." Peppers twitched her ears forward to listen for Barin before adding, "Come on Barin, please stop acting as if you were a fawn."

"I'm sorry... I got so fed up... please, you don't have to act like this." Blue said. No one said a word, and Blue sighed. "I was tired of being so cruel... Bairn," she paused. "I.. will just leave. I think.. I hit you on the head a bit to hard." And left. But she did not return home. Blue looked at her reflection in the water.

Those red eyes.

They made her angry. Too miserable. But she had to face it. Blue had hurt that buck. And that was why he was acting crazy. She had brought evilness to the world.

Blue was a demon.

And she did not like Earth. She wanted to go to Hell. Blue didn't want to be here anymore. World was her Hell, Hell was her Heaven.

So, Blue jumped into the water and watched the fish swim by. Quickly she passed out underwater. Her heartbeat become slower every second.

Blue was dieing. The blood stained the water. But no one saved her. No one cared. And Blue was happy.

"Blue!" Peppers called after her. "Blue come back!" She shouted, but Blue didnt return.

Maybe she should have some time alone. Peppers thought to herself. No, with deer who act crazy towards red eyed deer I must follow her to make sure she will be okay.

Peppers trotted slowly and creeped up behind a tree and peeked around it to look for Blue. Peppers felt astonished. Where had Blue gone? Then she saw a red in the pond and Peppers fur stood on end. What was happeneing? Peppers looked closer.

"Blue!" Peppers screeched running to the pond and fishing her out and setting her on the ground in a sunny spot. "Blue what were you doing?" peppers asked, setting Blue up to get the water out of her lungs.

Blue opened her eyes to see

Blue opened her eyes to see Peppers. She had saved her. But Blue was not happy about this.

Blue jumped away from Peppers and shook herself to dry. "You saved me!" She said. And before Peppers could say anything Blue shouted, "You just ruined my life! I was trying to drown!"

"I wanted to go away! I was tired of other deer beating me! And I was about to get away from all the horror when you had to save me!" Blue gave a snort in frustration, and ran away. The water had cleaned off all her blood, so there was no blood trail, and no one could follow her. No one saw her for the rest of the night. Nor the day after. Soon it was a week, and the Forest decided to have a meeting at the Twin Gods.

Rails and Slick, two brothers, also known as the Guardians of the Twin Gods, mooed for everyone to shut up.

"One of the deer, Blue, is gone." Announced Rails. Many deer started chatting at once, Then, a deer told everyone the story, for he was there.

"She drowned." He mooed, and everyone was as happy as ever.

Peppers stared after Blue, shocked and full of pity for her.

Maybe I should've just ecnored her like anyother deer woud have. She thought to herself. Atleast that way I wouldn't have to hear about another deer going suicide.

Peppers walked back to the oak tree and rested her head on the bark on the outside of it and sighed, closing her eyes.
