Yes, I gave in awhile ago and refer to him as Jay now. I was disturbed at how frequently people thought he was a female when I tried to call him Jendeer. I don't mind when other people still call him Jendeer though.

They're pretty much not needed now, though. Everyone names their deer human names now, it seems...

One of the final reasons for giving him a name was when Verdy was writing her story, Rubies in the Pond. Jay was in it but it somehow lost it's seriousness when the name 'Jendeer' came up!
Oh you might be right, I read her story through my iPod, I copied all of the story into a notepad document and read it on a trip I took so maybe I was the one who wrote Jendeer in there! I still think of him as myself, that's why I named in 'J'/Jay as in 'J'ennifer.
