Thunder crashed, dark clouds swirling midst an oblivion of natural elements terrifying power. The waters below lapped at a large, wooden ship's side. Sails luminous almost like dancing ghosts as the sky illuminated the strong, bright cloth that moved it onward and through the unforgiving storm. Things on deck, however, were just as terrible.



"Over there! Get that water off the deck! We don't need'ta be sinkin' now!"



A feminine voice, at the height of her lungs as she spewed orders to the rest of the crew. If one could look past the rain and sleet that fell before her eyes, one could easily distinguish fear.



The sound of the typhoon around them was utterly deafening, light flashing every which way as lightning graced the oceans's surface. The massive galleon rocked and swayed uncertainly, fighting the oncoming waves with relentless power, though it seemed whatever angry god above's was much more adamant.



A form darted to and from the bulkheads of the ship, cloth tied around the man's waist flickering about in the fierce winds, looking more a mere tassel than a belt. Hands dived for the riggings, securing them tightly. He was fast, experienced in the art of surviving a storm, but to be quite honest, he'd never beholded such a violent tempest before, in all of his days of voyaging and thieving.



Dark eyes flashed with apprehension, alarm. He refused to panic, that was simply not what a sailing man like him would do.



"Ayye! I be but one man, lass. Ye best keep a sound mind, m'lady."



Hopping away from the ropes, he leapt up the small stairway to the woman.



"How be you fairin'?" His voice, a shout, over the scream of the weather. His unshaven face surely showed his doubt, anxiety. He would search for hope in his companion's.



"I'd be great if not fer this wretched storm!" She hissed, staring around the ship, a full turn as she examined, and let her hand head through her hair, sighing exasperatedly. Not that it could be heard. "We need to-"
