is it possible i actually never SAW this before o,O

a hole in the ground with a few steps down...
and as i sit down it gave me a spell pellt immediately.

That'd be the pit. xD We don't really call it anything formally, as far as I know.
As for the spell, I bet somebody was sleeping in there. Eye If you go far enough into the back wall of the pit, you practically disappear.
