It is a moist, dewy morning. It is that time of day where all sounds seem to carry twice their normal distance, and the sound of slow, heavy footsteps echo off the canopy above as the tall grass and small undergrowth bend and break beneath. From the top of the hill you stand on, you can see the fellow morning wanderer make his way out of the tree line and into the clear space below you.

The great gray stag spots you and stops suddenly, his wide, red antlers reflecting the sunrise with their liquid sheen. He is just too far away to see his face properly, though his stance is enough to tell you that he is wary. You simply watch him, and his posture slowly works its way from wary to something else. Curiosity?

He lets out a bellow, impossible to identify. Is it the sound of a rumbling volcano? Waves upon a shore? A raging fire? A cheering crowd? Wait... Did that sound like a cry of a lost and mourning child? No, that couldn't be...

But before you can process thoughts like these, your eyes are drawn into the mouth of the stag, and you lose yourself in its depths.

For this creature before you is hardly a creature at all. His body is simply a barrier between this dimension and countless others. It contains anything and everything. It can take you anywhere and anytime, if only for a moment.
