Clock lay there, sprawled about his bed. He legs lay straight, his face buried in his pillow. His arms were drawn up to his face, bent so that his hands hung above his head. He shook miserably, not really crying, his mind was racing. So many thoughts all at once. It wasn't safe for him to leave. He had to skip school that day.

A quiet knock on the door was heard, and Tropa opened it and peeked inside. "Clock? Can I come in?..."

Clock didn't move. He only moved his toe up and down. Tropa took that as a yes and went inside, closing the door behind her. She sat down next to him, rubbing his bare back (he hadn't bothered to change out of his pajamas).

"Poor thing... Are you okay?"

Clock shook his head, never removing it from his pillow. She continued to rub his back, giving him at least a little comfort. He sighed, still shaking, and turned his head to the side to face her.

"Anything bothering you?"

Clock sighed again, "I dunno Tropa... It's... It's all this... Can I be crude for a moment?"

"Sure."

"It's all this split personality shit. I can't stand it anymore... I think it's driving Danielle away..."

"How do you know? I'm sure she doesn't mind you leaving every once in a while. Just makes her happier to see your once you're back, doesn't it?"

Clock shut his eyes, trying to clear his mind, but failing. "I... I don't know what to do... I scared her yesterday... How can I just come to her and say everything will be okay? She won't believe me, I wouldn't believe me. I acted like I should've been in an assylum..."

"Clock..." She was interrupted, he raised his voice.

"Maybe that's what should happen. Maybe I should just be locked up for the rest of my life. Then maybe I wouldn't hurt her... She won't see me like that again..."

"Clock, don't say that. You don't belong in an assylum, you belong here. You're sane for the most part. And yeah, you get the occasional breakdown, but... If Danielle really loves you... She wouldn't care about that..."

Clock blinked sadly, not looking at his foster mother. Or maybe foster sister. "After all those things I said to her... I told her not to be scared... Then I go and... And now I'm the one scaring her! And I told her that I would be there if she ever needed help..."

"Yeah?..."

"Well, what if I'm not there? What if it's Edward, or Owen? What if she needs help and I'm not the one she finds? I just... don't want that to happen..."

Tropa sighed, looking out the window and thinking. It was an absolutely cloudless winter day. One of those days where you didn't want to go outside anyway because it was so cold. She turned a concerned eye to him, "If she needs you, and you aren't there... You can always... At least try to convince whoever's there to back off... You did that once before, right?"

"Yeah..."

"If she really needs you, then you can find the power to come to her. Maybe then you'll know how to get rid of them for good..."

Clock moved his head so that his chin was on the pillow, facing the wall. "... She shouldn't have picked me... She shouldn't be dragged down... by a psycho like me..."

"Hey!" Tropa looked at him, making him turn his dark eyes to her, "You are not a psycho. It doesn't matter what doctors or psychologists say, you are not a psycho. And don't you dare believe you are for even a second! You're a person. And you should be treated as such. Others in your same situation might kill for your position. You found love, you have friends... Really, when you look at things, your disorder is just a little blotch on the paper!"

Clock didn't say anything. He closed his eyes, his tanned back started to shake again. "Sorry... B-but my brain isn't working right today... It can't take that kind of speech today..." He buried his head in his pillow again.

Tropa sighed sadly. She didn't know if this was his unstable trembling or just... regular crying. There was a lot on his mind. The world hadn't been kind to his mind, really. She got up, and walked over to the door.

"Clock..." She said quietly, and he seemed to stop shaking for a moment. "... Get some sleep..."

She walked out, closing the door behind her. The young man on the bed wished he could go see her... But he hadn't slept all night. It was rather tempting.

"Leo?" Leo looked at

"Leo?"
Leo looked at Danielle, then continued focusing on the road. They were supposed to be going to the shops for Taliene, who needed a carton of milk, as she'd run out.
"Mm?"
"...Can you drop me off at Clock's place?" The brown-haired girl said nervously, looking at her lap. She hadn't seen Clock since he'd "turned into" Owen; a scared, timid boy that seemed to blush at every word Danielle said. Leo nodded, and turned a corner.

Half an hour or so later, Leo waved goodbye to Danielle as she stood at the porch, her hand raised to knock on the door, shivering. The blonde drove off, and Danielle was left alone, wondering whether it was a good idea to come here at all.

But she knocked, and waited.

Tropa had left for a little

Tropa had left for a little while to get a few things for supper. It was only minutes after she left that Clock heard a knock on the door. His mind told him to be terrified, but he got up and looked out his window anyway. Oh...

He quickly went down the stairs to the entry way, and went out the porch exit. It was very cold out, and he forgot to put a shirt on. It didn't bother him, enough was on his mind already. He opened the door, not even looking at Danielle, but instead, the ground. "H-hi.. Danielle..." He crossed his arms to keep them at least a little warm, and shivered from the cold, still averting his gaze. He was too ashamed to look at her.

Danielle stared at the

Danielle stared at the shirtless Clock infront of her, feeling her cheeks heat up. "C-Clock...." She squeaked, finally pulling her gaze from his chest. "...I came...to see you...Can I come in? It's f-freezing..." The girl was scared, nervous, and embarassed, but she wasn't going to let things continue like this.

Clock finally glanced at her

Clock finally glanced at her with sorrowful black eyes. "... Sure..." He turned to the side, holding the door open for her to come in. She did so, and he led her inside where it was warm. He waited for the longest time for her to say something. "Danielle... I..." He couldn't finish. His thoughts were in a clutter. Her coming seemed to make it worse. Or better. He didn't know.

Danielle's eyes wandered to

Danielle's eyes wandered to Clock, and she bit her lip nervously. "Are you avoiding me because of Owen and the others?" She blurted, her brown eyes filled with sorrow. She didn't want to put him under any pressure, or upset him, but she needed to know.

Clock's eyes focused on her.

Clock's eyes focused on her. They became shiny, wet looking, but nothing came out. "I... I don't want you... to be scared..." He finally squeezed out. His voice was trembling, this was harder than he thought. "I'm sorry... It just... happens sometimes..." He gained a little more courage, and sighed. "Sometimes my brain fights over who it wants to be... And... well, you saw what happened..." He held a hand to his forehead, covering his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Danielle... I didn't want to hurt you or frighten you... You must think I'm a psychopath..."

"Aw, Clock..." She shook her

"Aw, Clock..." She shook her head firmly, pulling the teenager close to her in an embrace. "I don't think that! Why would I? It's not your fault that you have this...this problem!" She refused to let go of him, her cheek resting against his chest.

Clock began to tremble

Clock began to tremble again. He shakily took his hand away from his head, and hugged the girl close. He didn't know what to say. She was so forgiving to him, willing to forget all his problems. For once, his mind seemed to slow down. He still held her, never wanting to let go. "Danielle... I.. want you to know that... I can't make promises... When I told you I would be there for you, well... I shouldn't have promised that... If you need help and.. and I'm not there... And I'm someone else..." He didn't know how to finish this thought, but he hoped she understood. He just rested his cheek on her head, swaying her slightly side to side.

Danielle didn't respond to

Danielle didn't respond to Clock immediately; she understood, and felt that he would know she understood. Finally, she let go, smiling up at Clock. "I understand..." She murmered, her brown eyes bright. Her mood had lightened considerably.

He breathed heavily, letting out a soft smile after a few seconds. "G... great..." He breathed. He was glad there was finally someone else who could understand him. He lowered his head and kissed her, showing his thanks since he couldn't find the words. He felt normal then. He felt like he was as sane as anyone else in the world.
