A true love story (not the mushy kind of love, either)

This happened to my mom's friend today.
I just copied her facebook post and edited it a little so it's more readable x)

I rescued a dog on Valentine's Day!!
I saved an injured dog this morning on [the highway]. I was getting ready to take the exit to come to work and all the cars getting on ramp were slamming on their brakes and swerving. I slowed down and then I saw this little white dog on the shoulder stumbling. Clearly he had been hit and injured and not one person pulled over.

I immediately pulled over and went to him. I didn’t want him getting hit again. Another nice lady pulled over and she grabbed a blanket out of the back of her car and wrapped it around him while I called 911. By the time I was off the phone another lady pulled over. She had a small SUV and we put him in the back of her cargo area to keep him out of street and calm/warm. The lady who had the blanket had to go so we stayed waiting from trooper to arrive.

She finally arrived and she could not take him to the animal hospital. They are not allowed … in case of being bitten. The lady, Britt, could not take him either she had to be to work so I said “I’ll take him.”
NO way was I leaving this animal on the side of road.

I wrapped him up in blanket and we put him in the back of my MDX. Then I headed to the animal hospital. They came out and got him and checked him out. He is going to be fine.
From initial check over he didn’t appear to have anything broken or serious but they think he was mostly dazed and confused from initial hit. They were going to check him out.

Unfortunately, he had no collar and is not chipped.
They have to call animal control.

I called Britt to give her the update.

She is going to call the animal hospital back and tell them she will take the dog if no one comes to claim him.

So, a Happy Valentine’s day rescue but let me tell you I thought he was a lot worse when I first got to him and was scared to death he was going to die in front of me. I am such an animal lover there is no way I would handle that too well.

You made my day. It's

You made my day.

It's amazing to see someone who is kind enough to take the time out of their day to pull over if someone needs help.
