Tear

Might as well post this here. Its very much TEF related. Also my 3D project for art school.

We had to construct and exquisite corpse with random newspaper/magazine photo cutouts. Pick a head, body and legs. Mine was the head of a bear, arms and chest of a malnourished man and the body of a bird (so it was a very taurish creature)

In the end I chose a deer-esque taur.
First we had to make our clay piece. She was made using the coil method with raku clay. Sanded back with a combination of white and black slips. Shes hollow and has a hole in her back from which she tears open.

Then, we simply had to translate that scultpure and surface and make a cardboard sculpture.
This one has antlers instead.

UMM WHAT ELSE TO SAY.

No clue. I guess you could say this is Rett, my OOC deer. Maybe.
I prefer to leave it ambiguous.

The plan was to put the clay sculpture in the garden and let it get overgrown. I was possibly going to plant seeds in the body cavity so they grow out. Ill have to drill a hole in the bottom.

This really is something

This really is something unique.... very interesting, both of them. The smaller one is very expressive, I can feel his anguish, and the larger one has very aestetichally appealing shapes, especially the antlered head. Set down like this it kind of seems like the bigger one is attacking or hurting the little one though, with his hand behind it and the small one´s pained expression. Was this your intention?

Thankyou all <3 @ Spyrre:

Thankyou all <3

@ Spyrre: Honestly, no. They were originally going to be the same being, but when I made the cardboard one, it turned out so differently. I like to think of the cardboard one as a protector. A protector that won't last forever.

But at the same time, I adore your interpretation there. I guess they are kind of ambiguous C:
