Note: This story picks up right where Ab uno disce omnes [Furfur Diary 10] ends. This follows the side story of Furfur's journey and takes place between the last story and the one to come.
I've noticed I've been writing a lot of short stories lately, so I wanted to make a little topic to link them all together. Hope you enjoy, and I plan to do more when I think of more ideas.
If you'd like me to (and if I have enough people ask for it), I could add a little synopsis of what each story is about.
Title: The Overture Author: Zebbie Characters:Jester, Random Fireflies Warnings: Terribly lame humour and mini hearts ♥ Rating: PG Extra Note: This was written in about 20 minutes, just as a way to practice writing Jester in the third-person. This began as something I was going to make into a serious kind of thing, but then gradually descended into the realms of random-and then Lottie made me post it I really didn't have much inspiration, and the part involving Mittens in all his wonderfully lame glory only came about because I saw something about a cat called Mittens on TV and couldn't stop thinking about the name *giggles* And thus, the randomness in this drabble was born~! Generally something I didn't put all that much effort into, just a little practice exercise seeing as I haven't written in a very long time, or written as Jester at all :3 Alright fine, this was just an excuse to write the word Mittens. MITTEEEENNNSSSS ♥ Summary: Life is his play, and he's merely the star of his show~
The horse tamed the human
To look upon them with glee
For when the horse looks upon man
He says 'you will never be free'.
The horse flies across fields,
You watch with nothing but love
The horse asks, so nicely
'Aren't I just a gift from above?'
Indeed you are good horse
We will never know such wonder
For humankind, in all its glory
Will always, always blunder
The horse does not fall or die
With a scream or indignant sound
Even as the fire flickers
His brave heart continues to pound
We humans will never know this strength
We damned ourselves long ago
But within their eyes is something we lack
A fire, a will, and a soul.
So we salute you, brave horses
As only humans will
By using you, abusing you,
Make you work through the long hours
When the time comes, the horse will reign
The angels will come down and sing
We look into the light, we finally see
The angels, who fly without wings
