Return to Nature - Supplement I

Return to Nature Index

Silence. It can be a beautiful thing, and when used correctly, can be powerful too. It sometimes is hard to maintain silence, though. The world clutters your mind, makes you remember things from long ago that have been said and done.

Sometimes, you long for silence, but cannot ever find any. You find the world around you noisy, with televisions blaring, car alarms going off, obnoxious music playing just to draw attention. When this happens, you always want to just get away.

There is a way to do it without ever leaving, though. You just relax, release your worries, ignore all that is going around you, close your eyes.

Imagine yourself in a zen garden.

You sit on a nice stone bench. It is simple, not supposed to be eccentric but just there for you to rest and listen. You look around, seeing the place is fairly large and has a variety of plant life. You also see that there is a wall that has enclosed you. Next to you is a famous zen rock garden. You see a wooden rake there, and notice that the rocks are flat. Standing, you take the rake and try creating lines in the rock garden. The sound is strangely peaceful, and you go around three boulder-sized stones that sit there. Soon, you've raked the entire garden, and looking back at it, you notice that it has been done as perfectly as possible.

You wonder how you were able to do such a feat. How could someone with so much clutter in their mind create something so beautiful?

You return the rake to where you find it, and notice something sitting there. There is a little grey river stone, with your deer's pictogram etched into it. You pick it up curiously, and putting it into your pocket, you walk deeper into the garden, following a path made of stone.

Clonk! You hear something nearby, it's the only sound in the area.

Clonk! What is it?

Day two

So today I had found my self playing again. But today, I wanted to practice communicating with other users. I found it difficult at first, but after awhile, the actions, seemed more and more like words.
But before this, I was more than annoying. I was hopping and following others, some in which were very irritable (wouldn't blame them). But after a bit, I had found my self playing with a stag. Whose pelt I made a peacock, then he/she shrunk me, but it all ending in both of us dancing for no reason.
Now, I must say, I wasn't the only annoying one, I was being followed by another fawn, who kept making the noise (the one that sounds like "RRRRWWWWAAAAAUUUUUU" (so annoying)
I think I now know how others felt when I did the same. Hee hee, but untill tomorrow, this has been my adventure in the endless forest, day two.

Any ways, I haven't checked out the forum yet, so if you did want to PM me, please don't, instead you can e-mail me, or add me to your msn: . Other than that, please keep a look out for my next blog!

Why there are Trees...//A Forest Fable

Why there are Trees
A Forest Fable by Yours Truly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The forest rustled with the sounds of waking creatures as the morning sun drifted up from the horizon. Grass was lit up with light and flowers stretched up to greet the sun.
The river practically bubbled with merriment and the fish in the pond swam about gracefully, as they always do.
A young doe opened her eyes to this wonderful forest of light and happiness, smiling. She got up, stretching as she trotted towards the Old Oak.
As she approached it, a fawn ran towards her. “Swift! Swifttail! You’re here!” the young fawn cheered, stepping into pace with the surprised doe.
“Oh yes, of course! I wasn’t going to miss this!” she replied, brimming with mirth.
The Old Oak loomed protectively above their heads as the hollow came into view. A rather large group of fawns grouped together inside.
Swifttail stopped in front of them all, glancing over them with adoration. ‘I just love fawns…I guess this year’s rut was very successful.’
“Welcome fawns! You guys wanted to hear a story, right?” she asked, a grin on her face.
The fawns laughed. One yelled over the others. “C’mon, I don’t think you’d forget!”
She smiled, waiting for them to calm down. “Okay then. One of you guys scoot, I wanna sit too!”
They all giggled as a gray fawn moved to the side so Swifttail could sit.
“Okay guys, what kind of story would you like to hear about?”
An outburst of answers.
“Oh! The stars!”
“The Pond!”
“Birds!”
She yelled over them all. “Quiet down! Okay, you in the back there.”
A small brown one stood up to be seen, poppies adorning her small head. “One about the trees?” she asked in a small voice.
Swifttail nodded. “Then okay. Now, once there was a beautiful meadow with many different flowers and animals, mostly deer like us.
A poem for Seed
SEED
I thought that I should never see
A deer as noble as a Tree;
A steadfast and majestic hart
Who loves his wood in whole and part,
A friend to fawn, to bird, to stone;
A king with soft grass as his throne;
A minstrel whose soft voice belies
The broken heart beneath his guise,
Within whose dreams the Forest sleeps,
While in his mind a secret keeps.
He hears the song within the reed
and sees the forest in a seed.
This is Seed's award poem from the Ligtbringers. It is a tribute/parody of Joyce Kilmer's poem "Trees".
First Day
Hmm, so the game has a community...WITH A BLOG SYSTEM!
So today was my first day playing "The Endless Forest" So I should talk about what I think of the game and how I found it.
So I had just got my lap top fixed and its memory wiped, and I had nothing to do since my tablet broke.
I went to google to find a new RPG since "Impressive Title" died and "Feral Hearts" Isn't out yet. So in the little search bar I typed "Animal MMRPG games" and I got TEF. Now I read up on the game a bit, and found it pretty interesting how there is no speaking in the game (thank god, I hate chat speak) I also found it quite impressive looking, and love the style of art put into it. I decided I should download it.
At least 2 and a half hours later (thanks to slow connection) the game was fully installed and I was on my way to playing.
First I played with out signing up, so I could adjust the settings to make it run smoother. and then I signed up. When I first realized you don't name your character, but get a unique little symbol, I was very enthralled with this. It was such a good idea. So I finally got online, of course I knew the game inside and out, I'm such a nerd I learned ever thing I could about the game, so playing it was very simple. I finally got around and explored the whole place my self (youtube videos don't show you much, Sticking out tongue) I tried out some things and played with other fawns.
The setting and every thing about this game is so unique and realistic. It has its own universe which seems to suck you in as you explore every inch of this beautifully crafted game.
Out of ever animal MMORPG I have played, this one has got to be the most thought through one ever.
Well this is the end of my very first blog, can't wait to play tomorrow!
oh and be sure to PM me if you want to chat. I'm sure we could set up a chat and play session!
Let's tie roses to the gallows
And we'll all cry tears of jewels
A pretty death for a pretty fool, is that what you want?
And we'll burn your body on a pyre of sandalwood and branches from the sea.
Pretty blue flames.
When Herne created Day. . .
"Mother?"
I looked down to the little body pressed against my dark pelt, his brown fur illuminating in a few leftover autumn rays stretching through the trees from the fading light. With a soft voice I invited his curiosity.
"Yes darling?"
"What makes the sun set?"
"Well. . .no one really knows." I whispered as I looked far away into the dying orange glowing through the wood. "But, my father used to tell me a story when I was a fawn, of how the great spirit of the forest brought day and night to all living things."
"Herne?" He asked eagerly.
"Yes."
"How?"
"Well. . . . ." I began. .
. . . . . .A long, long time ago, in a magical forest, along a mystical river, lived two deer. A handsomely muscular twelve point stag and a beautifully poignant doe brought together by the forces of the universe for the perfect match, vowed to love and protect each other for eternity, for together they cast over the dawn of every morning, and cover us with the dusk of every evening. Without the sun rising and setting the world would not grow and time would seize. So the great spirit of Herne, the God of deer, put Dusk and Dawn together on Earth to roam the forest forever free of harm, and bring about another night and a new day.
However, Herne had one condition that came with this gift. As long as they remained together on Earth they were never to cross the mystical river at the edge of the huge forest. When Dawn asked Herne why they were never to cross, he replied 'Because when one of the spirits of the forest no longer has a place of life in this wood, I send them across the river to the other one, to roam free until I decide to send them back. I gave you the privilege to enjoy the forest forever, to cross the river to the land of spirit would be an insult.' With that Dawn didn't question him further, in fear of abusing Herne's generosity.
So the two deer enjoyed the forest day after day, night after night.
The Fawn Storyteller Jergens (Echria Finished) (How the Trees Got Their Bark)
The Fawn Storyteller Collection
Look man, I’m no writer. Hell, I couldn’t even read as a goddamn human. What makes you think I can tell a story? Whatever… I’ve been telling stories to fawns and fawns at heart a lot lately… Here are my experiences.
Enjoy the crappiness. Seriously, why are you here again?
