Return to Nature - Story XIII

Warning, this one contains a little graphic scenery and violence.

Return to Nature Index

You are channel flipping on your television, holding onto the now almost lifesize plush animal of Vito as you watch. It is late at night and you can't sleep, the light from the television illuminating your room.

You stop on a channel that is talking about meat processing plants. You quickly turn your eyes away and change to the next channel. You can't see something like that right now, not since you've started seeing your deer and Vito. You keep flipping channels, finding a different show about construction. You catch a glimpse of a deer who is walking around a construction site.

Slowly you drift to sleep, awaking and finding yourself laying on cold pavement. You sit up and look around, expecting rolling hills, a thick forest, or a lovely meadow, but instead, you find yourself sitting in an old warehouse.

The place is musty, and you can even see specks of dust hovering around in the sunbeams that penetrate through the walls. You stand and watch as dust and dirt lifts off the ground and floats down. This place must not have been used for quite some time, as you see weeds growing through cracks in the floor.

You call out, actually hearing your own voice echo back. Are you the only one here?

Then you hear footsteps approach nearby, and see both your deer and Vito appear from a separate room. You were glad to see them, but you don't understand why you are here of all places. "There are some things animals will never understand.", your deer says, "This place for example. Do you know what it was used for?"

You shake your head. You have no idea.

I cry your pardon, Sir

Oh, how she cried. She lay there, broken and torn. Nothing in the world could save her. her instinct was to hide, to flee. But no, she would face this pain. And the pain from others.

Sir, please, I cry your pardon, I cry it to the stars!

Oh, but do you cry it to the earth? Do you cry it to the ground? To life, all around us? Do you think you are subtle at this? Oh, no. And it is your job To free this world of more fiends that grow up near us. Beauty is another word for death.

Sir, no, please!

Yes.

And with the sound of a bullet whistling gracefully through the air, another deer's life was vanished, as simply as a flame worn too thin to survive. Her bubble of life was popped, and she fell, broken once more, onto the earth from whence she came.

The Golden Hare

For Mason...

The silence of the night was shattered when the cries were heard from a group of animals. They gathered around a young hare, his golden body laying at rest under the stars. He was young, and had hopes and dreams despite being a timid creature. The other animals had supported him for so long, and even they wanted to see his goals accomplished.

Seeing the young hare lifeless on the ground was tragic. They didn't understand why he had died, what had caused it...but it didn't matter, they were heartbroken this night.

"Look up to the sky.", one of the elder animals said. The others around the hare looked up and saw two glistening stars that were brighter than all the others. One was shimmering a brilliant yellow, and the other was a bright white. The elder smiled, "The hare is in good care.", he said to the others.

"How do you know?", they asked him. He looked down to them, "He has gone to the Grey Rhino, see them dancing together? Our hare is not lost this night, his earthly life may have ended but he is with our friend and guardian the Rhino.", the elder replied.

The animals looked to the sky. There the two stars stayed bright for the remainder of the night, and all of them shared memories of the Hare. He had died this night, but he would be forever alive in their hearts.

Sing to the stars

My pain was apparent. She stared, crestfallen, as the snow drifted, like tiny, delicate leaves from the heavens. She has failed. She, the one why everyone knew, hated, and thought of. The thought of living, of breathing, was a soul filling her, with dread. She sat, her head bowed, every small antler glistening. She, who was called Mother by many, and traitor by others. The feelings some had, some caressed a delicate nature of wanting her gone, and some just snapped, and herded their young away. The snow arose, as the dawning mist crept into the twilight shadows of a new era. The era of the Stone. She was Alone. her name was Alone, and she wanted nothing more than to become they stony, cold earth that thousands of deer lived upon. how lucky they were. She was not.

Oh, my love, dear and true,
Dance with me,
Stay pure and hopeful...
Oh, my love, stay pure and true,
Dance with those who mean so much to you...
Oh, my love, stray not from me,
Oh, my love, find harmony

The rhino walked amongst the grasslands and tilted its horn toward the bright sun. His large foot prints marked the sand beneath his feet as he felt the earths heat and texture. This rhino stood until the sun set, way below the trees that were etched into the distance, he liked the feeling of being there. All other animals had long gone, opting to stay undercover for when nightfall arrived. He was peaceful here.
"Alright,"
said the zoo keeper
"he is ready..."

::I am so lost:: {iko shortstory}

It was dark. And morbidly silent.

Where... where a-am I?

A dense fog hung eerily overhead, weaving cautiously between trunks and crawling under her black pelt to tickle her skin. One could swear you could hear the darkness laugh evilly as you trembled.

Her ears shot up, then lowered as she cowered against the nothingness. It was consuming her, the silence was screaming in her ears.

I-I want to go h-home!

She wanted to leave so hideously bad, but when she tried to move, all she felt was numbness. She was alone. She was lost. Lost in a forest of darkness.

I-I'm so lost...

Interactions With Lacie : The Fail Edition

#9999FF, size 10, Deer form.
#999900 Lucida Console, size 10, Thylacine form.

=x

This is an interaction blog for Lacie/Alkina. Any format is fine, but be aware that if anyone posts drawing interactions, I won't be drawing any replies. I'll either type, or do a screenshot edit, depending on what I feel like doing at the time.

You can speak to her with either her deer form, or her Thylacine form. She's still the same 'ol gal. I do not, however, do human RPs. Lacie has no human form.

I like you when - when you take off your face,
You put away all your teeth,
And take us way underneath.
'Cause you could die if you take it alone...

How to upload pictures?

Can anyone help me? I am new to the community so I don't know how to upload pictures to my blog or comment. Please help.

Thanks

Large, piercing green eyes scanned the horizon; tracing the hills and watching the peculiar patters of the water flow around the rocks near the bank. Birds landed on the tips of his massive red antlers, only to be shooed off by the sudden boom of his bellow as he called out for her. Then he would listen, then do it again.
