Curled comfortably on the throe-rug before the fire place, black nose twitching under a tail of long wisping fur, ears slightly twitching in the emanating heat, Kam slept. The thick white strip of fur running from his nose up to stop between his long lashed eyes. The black fur on the ridge of his back bristled as he snarled in his sleep.
A rocking chair creaked as a large, finely built man shifted. The newspaper sheets in his hands rustled, causing another growl to rumble in Kam's chest.
"Heh! Think 'e chasin' t'croaws oot o' t'corn pautch. Heheheh." the man chuckled, shacking his head before turning his attention back to his paper.

Under the Lotus

Chapter 1

Light footfalls made not a sound on the cool tiles, carrying the young woman silently through the palace, her bare feet moving gracefully under the translucent linen shift she wore. Hair coiffed with a minimum of fuss that morning, her unnaturally scarlet hued eyes outlined in black, drawn to a point along the curve of her face in the Egyptian way, the woman wore hardly any jewelry, only the minimum accouterments for a princess. She was not seeking to be seen that morning, quite the contrary she sought solitude, escaping the watchful eyes of her guards and the hovering of her maids, she’d slipped out from her rooms in the early hours of the morning. The sun crept over the horizon, the garden faintly lit as she descended the stairs to her favorite spot there. A far off corner, shaded by large palms, the heady scent of hibiscus blossoms filling the air. Here was her fountain, the space filled by the sound of the falling water, the spray hanging in the warm air, a green place full of life, a sanctuary from the dry desert air. It was cool in the early morning with the promise of the day’s oppressive heat already apparent, the sun’s creeping light blossoming around her as she reached her sanctuary. She settled on the richly decorated rugs there, pillows with gold thread in their weave, costing a small fortune to make, merely upon which to lay her head. She closed her eyes and listened to the slowly fading night sounds be replaced by those of the day. She drowsed there, the air heating up as the sun rose. A voice awoke her.

“Dreaming child? That’s all you ever do. Dream. Sneaking off, the guards all in a fuss. I know your ways though. I know where to find you,” said a woman’s voice. Not unkindly. Doting. The young woman wrinkled her nose at the voice. Followed.

"Even after death..."

"...he is tortured..."

(For my writing challenge, please feel free to participate!)

The infection is too much for him. His body cannot take any more pain, and collapsing, he gasps for one last time.

The blackbuck's vision fades. His body slowly stops moving. His head rests, and he draws his last breath.

And just like that, he is dead.

He opens his eyes, but cannot move.

His body still covered in her infection, he feels extremely heavy.

Then he sees it. He is being held down.

The infection now appears more like black ropes, binding him to the ground.

He tries to move, but the more he does, the more the infection digs into his skin.

He cries out, but there's no one to hear him.

He is alone in a place that seems much like a flat, barren land.

The sky is dark, the ground...oddly white.

And then his brown eyes catch a glimpse of her...

Iugulare is here, even after death...he is tortured...

[=darkgrey]"Hero...you'll never be rid of me.

Forest Tales-A tale of Enna

The air seemed to be perfect. No rain, no clouds, just sunshine. It was breezy, a little cold though. Enna had just awaken from a nap. She stretched and hurried to her mother bugging her for food. She leads her over to a nearby patch of purple flowers, Enna loves these. She grazes for quite a time before getting full and starts to call for her friends. "Baaa!" She stands by her mother waiting for a reply. "Baaaaaa," She hears a call far off in the distance, not too long after that she hears another one, "Baa," and another "Baaaa!". Many fawns are out in the perfect weather to play today. She looks at her mother for approval. She nods, Enna bounces with joy and hurries off to her friends. After finding them, one of the fawns leads them to the spring to play in the water. They leap over to the other side and frollic in the open space playing in the sun. A buck approaches them, he's no threat though, he came for a drink. Soon after that a doe follows in his tracks, ths must be his companion. The doe gently gazes at the fawns with her big blue eyes. And behind her follows a newborn fawn, very young. Enna approaches the newborn sniffing her and asking her to play. Enna starts playing too rough and the fawn falls to the ground and starts to call to it's mother. "Baaa! Ba!". As soon as the father hears it's call, he comes bolting over the stream along with the mother. The father huffs and snorts. "Snort!". He begin to stomp his hoof pounding the ground. Startled, the four friends dash off into the forest to find their parents. Dusk begins to fall and Enna has found her mother. "Baa,". She settles down beside her to stay warm for the night. Enna lays her head beside her warm chest and begins to fall asleep dreaming of tomarrow.

Souls of the Fathers, Entry 3

A circle of deer surrounded Quatar, their antlers clacking together with every motion of their proud heads. Their fur shimmered in the day's light. Some blinked their eyes in a quiet patience, while others turned their faces away from the small carcass, overcome by horror and disgust.
“What is it Uunumrayel. What is the message that the Fathers have sent you.” a speckle backed doe called in a subdued voice. Her big lupid eyes shining in the sunlight.
Taking a deep breath, Quatar reluctantly obliged. The news he had to tell them, was indeed a woeful tale. “The Father's have given me a dream, a great evil in the west is making a mighty pilgrimage, leaving a trail of blood behind. I saw the sun turn black, the grass and leaves whither, I saw the earth burn. This evil is no longer content to destroy their own lands, they have spread out, reaching with strands of death into the far reaches of the earth. They shall not go around us, but through us. They are coming. As of yet, I do not know how we can prevent the disaster of the west, but I do know this. If a short while, there will be no place to run...”
“Uunumrayel. There has never been such a danger in a thousand millenia. How can this be?” the speckled doe with the lupid eyes enquired.
“It is my believe that they it has always been, simmering, destroying the lands it nestled in, but now, as I have already said, it is no longer content.”
“What can we do?”
“I do not know. But I ask of you to be patient and give me time to consult with the Fathers. When I have gained an answer, I shall call you together once again. You have my word that I shall not rest until that day.”
“But Uunumrayel...”
The sun was now high in the sky as it's piercing light chased the shadows away. White puffs of clouds drifted by on an almost invisible breeze. It was going to be a hot day.

"What If...?" (Quad and Deadly Trio shortstory) (Roleplay instead?)

Mick suggested that this might be better as a big roleplay.

I guess I need a vote then. XD

Would you rather me write the story out or should this be a roleplay?

Keep in mind that your character will most likely get killed or turned into an infected, but this way you could give them a fighting chance. The Deadly Trio will win no matter what and characters will get killed, but remember this is a "what if" story so it's not canon and your character does not genuinely die in the Forest.

Story votes - 0
Roleplay votes - 2

If we did it as a roleplay, we'd most likely do them as individual roleplay battles. So you would pick who you wanted to go up against and we'd do a separate roleplay (either on this topic or you could make your own). That way, as many people that wanted to participate can, and all the stories would be interconnected so, say, Iugulare isn't fighting five people all at once. It would be a series of events.

I need victims for this story! Please give me a character or two that my Deadly Trio can infect or kill. This is a hypothetical story so they are not going to be really killed off, but I want to include your characters in the story so it's not just about Quad. Thank you

"What if Iugulare was successful in her domination of the world? What if Quad was ultimately defeated? What if the Twin Gods could not stop Iugulare from infecting the Endless Forest? What would happen next?"

I'm still working on plans for this story but I thought it would be fun and interesting to write a scenario where Iugulare actually won.

You'll Never Guess

Well, today started just like any other day. You wake up and eat breakfast, then brush your teeth and get changed, y'know, that sorta thing. Well, At about 12, Mom and Dad drag me and one of my sisters to the hospital to go visit our Grandpa. That was a nice encounter, much better than last time I can tell you. We stayed for awhile, but at about 1 we decided it was time to go home. Dad had to go to work and all. Well, when I got home, I packed up my laptop, and walked to the library. I haven't written another entry in Souls of the Fathers yet. But well, that's okay. I was on a bit of a writers block anyway. But that's not the biggest thing to happen to me yet.
Well, when I got to the library, I set up my computer and started checking my mail, I have Facebook. I tried to get into contact with a friend of mine, Valerie, 1 because I haven't talked to her in a while. And 2, her Dad just left home for good, her parents got a divorce.
Nothing happened, so I waited for a while. While I was waiting, just poking about on the web minding my own business, when I got a message. I thought "Great! Valerie's answered!" But it wasn't who I had thought at all. It was a request to be a friend by some Japanese guy called Sano Mizuri. He was really cute. And I like making new friends so I said yes. And the strangest conversation irrupted. I started it off by noticing that he was from the Osaka Academy, Nice. And that he wanted to go to Tokyo University. Kool. Nothing wrong with that. We talked for a while, like I said, he's been in Alberta for 6 months. And he also visited the "English Peoples" has he so put it, when he was a little boy. And I was thinking, for someone who's only lived in Canada for 6 months, he's got some good english on him. And he kept apologizing for his bad english, and for being so hard to understand. I told him it was no problem and that he did not need to apologize.
Then he said something that caught me completely off guard.

Forest Tales-A tale of Urro

The forest smelled of pine and flowers, and the sun broke through the tree tops as if it couldn't wait to shine down on the ground. Urro rose form the wet grass to nibble on some mushrooms nearby. These mushrooms were orange and tasted bitter and salty. Urro sticks out his toungue in disgust and sets off to find some berries. After walking and leaping over rocks for hours, Urro finally comes across the biggest, juiciest, patch of berries he's ever seen.
Just as he settles down to munch on them, a gust of wind carries the scent of trouble into Urro's nostrils. A buck, a big one too. A strong, scary, towering buck. He doesn't look happy either. The buck starts to snort as a warning, Urro unsure of the situation starts to back away slowly. The buck snorts again, louder this time, he is now hovering over Urro. He stomps his hoof beating the ground. Other fawns start to stare, they know what is happening. Urro turns to run when he is knocked across the ground in the back by the huge antlers the buck has, he was flung into a tree like a twig. Just as the buck rears up to trample him, he stops, places his feet on either side of Urro's head just missing him, and stares deep, deep into Urros eyes. The buck stops to stand the for a long time breathing heavily, determining if he is a threat. The buck steps away to continue eating and courting with the other females. Urro quickly rises from the ground bolting off into the forest. That night Urro goes to sleep in the last bit of sunlight under a large oak tree, sheltered, but very hungry. After the incedent, Urro had eaten some grass by the pond, it wasn't very soon though before it had gotten dark, so he headed ino the forest and ended up here. Tomarrow he will find some different berries... Safer ones.
