A white acrylic splat deer shape that took form with a ballpoint pen, and then became this. Edited, of course. This is something that symbolizes what I have been going through the past five years or so. I'm in a sort of waiting period. Like I'm frozen in time. Sort of like when you're up to your shoulders in the ocean and you try to run to shore, you're in slow-motion. Yet, amid everything, after all of the times I've been pulled under and water flooded my lungs... I'm always pulled back to the surface, and I'm a little closer... To what? I don't know. But everything is going to be okay. Everything is going to be fine. "This to shall pass." (Either Christ or God the Father as one of the twin 'gods'.)
This is what the piece means to me, that there is hope in the storm. I used a winter theme, a blizzard in the Forest, simply because winter is my favorite time of year… But, on a slightly different subject… I really sense that people in this community care for one another. We each get something different out of The Forest. For some people it may be just a game to be amused by, but I think for most people, it's something more. A way to connect with other people, escape from the terribly dullness of everyday life, or maybe to get some peace and quiet if your life isn’t dull.
